“Operated as a division of the Charlotte/Mecklenburg Police Department, we are a multi-faceted agency dedicated to providing the citizens of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County with animal services. We are an organization that values community partnerships and working jointly to build a better world for animals and the people who own them. The Animal Control Bureau's pet adoption program brings animals and people together. If you are looking for a new pet, The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Shelter has hundreds of dogs and cats, along with occasional snakes and pot-bellied pigs, to choose from for adoption. The shelter also has two specially designed bonding areas for people to interact and play with the animals they are considering for adoption.”
