“This unique vet is specialized in exotic pets, like guinea pigs, ferrets, turtles, rabbits, lizards, crocodilians, various reptiles etc. He is also executive director of the New England Wildlife Center. Dr. Mertz is probably the greatest authority in that subject area in the state of Massachusetts. Treatment by appointment only. Payments by check or cash (he takes payments himself). Also has visiting hours at Needham Chestmut Street Animal Clinic. Leave voice mail and he always returns calls. If urgent, indicate that in voice mail.
