“This Park tucked away in the heart of the French Quarter is 1/2 block large and consists of open fields and a shelter. The park is a bit run down but the locals try to take care of it the best they can. New Orleans Ordinance officially says that dogs have to be on a leash at this unofficial dog park but the locals don't pay that any mind. Dogs run at their leisure while the owners are required to pickup after their four-legged friend. The entrance is on the Dauphine Street side. Water is provided.”
A great place to let your dog off the leash in the french quarter. Unfortunately there are vagrants who bring dogs that are obviously disease carriers but thats just a reality of life in the quarter. Tons of tennis balls to throw and there is also a little pool for your water loving dogs to take a dip. They recently blocked off an area that was collecting muddy water, so if you have been avoiding the park like i have because of it, its safe to return.
Nic and Sharon bring Abby and I to the park every Sunday. Even though i have some hind leg issues, I am able to get a bit of exercise. I am a big Weimaraner puppy and my best friend in Abby. Our friends are fun. Hope to see you there.
