“Petropolis Adoptions is an all-volunteer nonprofit animal rescue and adoption organization founded in 2005 for the purpose of promoting the shelter animal as the wisest, most cost-effective choice in family pets. We are geared towards first-time adopters and to making adoption an easy and rewarding experience leading to a lifetime of loving pet guardianship. Our animals come primarily from animal control and open-admission shelters where the realities of overcrowding and overpopulation lead to the euthanasia of millions of healthy, friendly pets every year. We do not have a physical facility. Instead, we are foster home-based and operate primarily at adoption events that are held most weekends at area pet supply stores and other venues. ”
