“The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. Since its humble beginnings in a citizen’s backyard, the Society has been promoting responsible pet ownership, compassion for all living things and a commitment to be involved and make a difference.”
Cheers for the UnderdogsI have to say they are doing the best they can with the low funding the government gives them. They have to cover most of their own funding with programs like the walk for dogs. Charity dinners, and the barbeques and their giant yard sale bazaar. They also help with the over population problem by enforcing manditory spay/neuter for their adopatbles and working with the Jazzpur society to help spay and neuter stray cats to help end the over population problem in the feline community. |
Struggling but making itI do applaud the good folks at the Windsor Essex Humane Society for doing what they do with the little budget they have. They have a great cat room and have many good programs. I am a huge fan of the seniors for seniors program... it pairs up senior dogs with senior owners at no charge! It's a wondeful way to get homes for those older dogs who have to watch puppies go every day while they wait for a home.. kudos to them for that! |
