“Looking for a spot to sleep with your family & pooch while traveling along California's Central Coast? Check out the Silver Surf Motel! This little 72-room motel is reminiscent of the days of yore-when William Randolph Hearst (whose 'castle' is just down the street!) had his grand pawties! There is a huge expanse of grass (just for, well, you know!) and they have just recently upgraded the rooms to include Wi-Fi and the bathrooms have been re-modeled. Small, yet quaint, this is a great spot to snooze. $10 for a pet...”
Silver Surf Motel: Rated for ambienceThe Silver Surf is not a 5-star hotel. It is quaint and rustic. I love the big grassy area. I also like how QUIET it is-there is just nothing around. The staff is very friendly (probably cuz San Simeon is out in the middle of nowhere) and since there isn't any traffic, everyone is so laid back, which is MY kinda place. :) The beach is just a short (and I mean SHORT) drive across the street. Mama LOVES the food at the restaurant across the street (right next to the beach) called the Cavalier (part of the Best Western but we don't care for the hotel there cuz there is NO grass!!! pooh). So, visit the Silver Surf. :) |
