horrible services/unprofessional

Horrible services. Took our dog to see Dr. Chen who was severely ill, she was not eating, loosing weight, not drinking, lethargic. She examined her, ran blood tests and began "guessing" at diagnoses', consulting with "LAB" techs on their opinions and her guesses to what my dogs problem was. Advised on an Ultrasound to see what was going on internally but could not do it for 6 day's...scheduled it and sent my dog who was dehydrated and basically starving. As a responsible pet owner and going by obvious facts and instincts we decided and knew our dog would not even make it through the up coming weekend let alone 6 day's without medical help. We called her office asking to have the lab results FAXED to another Vet to get a 2nd opnion and that vet examined her, diagnosed her and had her in surgery within 2 hours of the exam taking out a tumor and we had our dog home and recovering 3 days before Dr. Chens scheduled ultrasound. That evening we recieved a nasty call from a clearly aggitated Dr. Chen telling us that she was basically offended that we were getting a second opnion and telling us that she was CANCELLING our ultrasound appointment (which would have been cancelled by us anyhow being our dog was already cared for) and that we could pick up our pet records anytime because she wasn't going to treat her. We were floored as to her cold uncaring behavior not to mention her unproffessionalism making "guesses" to what was wrong with our beloved dog. If we didn't act on our instincts to get a second opinion we were told that our dog would have not made it to the ultrasound apt. We had also shared her "guesses" to diagnoses with the new vet who hadn't a clue where she got those diagnoses from. We have since found that we weren't the only patients to recieve care like this from her from several people who also had to get 2nd opnions when their dogs weren't getting well. Beware, there are many good, caring, professional vets. This woman is far from that. She is cold, stubborn headed, rude, unproffessional, didn't have the best interest of our pet in mind and clearly unsure of herself and can't handle herself properly when her ego is bruised. We are so lucky our dog is alive, no thanks to her.
