Rumpy: No Standing Vertibrae

Rumpy Riser: Anywhere from a small bump you can feel, but no necessarily see, to about an inch high. (That's me, a small bump you can feel. It even moves a little!)

Stumpy: Short, visible tail; looks like a bobtail or a rabbit tail

Longy: Looks similar to a full-length tail but is actually foreshortened a little. Often blunt at the end.

Fulltail: A full-length tail. Manx can have full-length tails, but these cats do not carry the tailless, or Manx, gene. I find that one a little confusing.

kitty

Mom read once that white Cymrics (Manx) are rare, but she's not sure that's true. However, she's never seen another one in person.

Whoever had me before mom sure didn't think I was too rare, since they left me outside to fend for myself with my newborn kittens!

I'm a dimple-rumpy! That means I have a bit of an indent. My mom is not sure if I'm a badly bred manx/mix or a DTC(domestic tailless cat). I'm also showing in the Household division @ the CFA show on 3-17! I don't care about the ribbons I'm just in it for the mass adoration! hail

I walk strange for a cat, but manx build makes us unusual from normal cats. Mom wonders if I'm truly a manx/mix or if my peculiar body structure(butt higher than shoulders and dimple) are the result of a birth defect which would make me a DTC instead of a true manx. I lack the rounded features of most manxes. I have a very triangular face. I guess I'm a Mystery wrapped up in an enigma, and covered in pretty white fur.laugh out loud
Mom does have to shhwipe my butt everydayred face

I'm a Stumpy! *puffs out his little pincushion tail* My cat-dad was a rumpy riser. His tail looked like a little pom-pom.

Aww, Cybil, those mean people who let you out for you to fend for yourself didn't know what they were missing! The apparently didn't know how SPECIAL and AWESOME we Manx cats are!

Like the saying goes by Mary Stewart, 'When Mother Nature saw fit to remove the tailof a Manx, she left, in place of the tail, more cat!

I guess I'm a rumpy riser. I asked the question in the messages before I made my way back here. So a riser and a rumpy riser are the same thing. Cool. I heard that all tailless cats are considered medically deformed, but it's a deformity that we're bred for. That's why us stray manxes are particularly peculiar, like me, Cybil, and Dancer. The DTC genes can just arise in otherwise tailed cat families, but manxes are a breed. We have a different shape, with more bootie and less hind leg basically, and our butts are higher. We also have very round features and stubby limbs. You seem like you could be more exotic, Kharisma. Your features are very delicate, but you do have very big, round eyes. But it's hard to see how you normally look by the pics on your page MOL.

I'm a rumpy... and a stray. smile

I also have a feeling Mother will be inspecting my tushie tonight when she gets home from the night job just to confirm. *sigh* Maybe I need to start patting her tushie. Let her know how disgraceful it feels.

I think mom would be considered a Rumpy too! big laugh

I don't know about everyone else, but almost every person I meet asks if I had my tail cut off! shock They all think I'm really adorable, plus I'm extremely affectionate, so how anyone just tossed me out, I don't understand.

Are the rest of you really affectionate? I love to be held like a baby.
