Holiday Wishes from Our Hearts to Yours

As this year comes to a close and we all scurry to fit everything in before the "big" day, Willie and I thank each of you who have found a place within our hearts and will remain there for all time.

We've all laughed, cried and even gotten snitty with each other at times. We've made friendships, shared tradegies and mourned together at the loss of too many beautiful and beloved furbabies.

Have joyous holidays. We love you all for who you are and what you have given back to us.

Each year I try to find something that inspires me during this busy season. I Xerox it and pass it on to my friends in the hope that they will also find it helpful.

As I looked through articles; new and saved throughout the year, I found a recurring theme. There is the desire by many for “the perfect gift”, “the favorite gift”, “the most wonderful gift ever received”. Each person had a different answer and I recalled another article that mentioned “gifts” in general. It occurred to me that this article was perhaps the one I was looking for.

It talked about how a dogs eyes can melt your heart and soul when they so lovingly look upon their mistress/master. Wee Willie has done this on a daily basis to my heart. It also talked about how cats sometimes run sideways and arch their backs. Or the smell of a newborn baby. A field of wild flowers in the summer, the sound of the ocean. A good laugh or a good cry! The feeling of the morning sun on your back or the blackness of the soil when you dig. I could go on about a variety of foods, fresh-ground coffee, the “pop” of the lid when you’ve canned something and it seals. There is the inspiration of so much in nature; the seasons first snowflakes, finding a birds nest. Then there’s sliding between clean sheets.

So many of our gifts are small but they are the things that compensate for the hardness in life. So this holiday season, enjoy all your gifts and may they all be small.

Willie and Joni
