When Mom is Dad…..

Sunday is Father’s Day and all pups both two legger and four legger pay tribute to “the man” but at our house, my mom is also my dad.

I remember a kind and loving man who was my real hooman dad but he went to someplace called the Bridge. I looked for him for days but mom explained I wouldn’t see him for a long time and it would only be her and I. His voice is still on our answering machine so I get to hear him and that makes me happy.

My mom is such a good dad. She plays in the yard with me, takes me for long walks, cuts my food into bite size pieces, takes me to the vet when she’s supposed to, buys me all kinds of presents, takes me for rides. When it’s zero out, she drives me to places that she know will make it easier for me to poop. When it’s hot out, she carries water and my favorite cup so that I can have a drink. She never goes anywhere after work cause of me but doesn’t seem to mind. She doesn’t mind if I sleep on her pillow during the when she’s at work and keeps the air on all day to keep me cool when it’s hot and puts an extra puff on the bed for me to curl up on when it’s cold. She made me a page on Dogster where I made the bestest pals ever.

I’m the luckest pup in the world having a mom for a dad. Happy Father’s Day, mommy!

To all those others who have mom's for dad's - every family is special in their own way. Doesn't matter if you have a mom, dad, two of each, sister's and brother's, other furbabies. As long as you all love each other - that makes a family.
