Guess what? I Still hate birthday HATS...a woo woo woo.

They tell me I am now 6 years old:) My birthday began with a nice long walk after breakfast with mom, dad, and Kiara around town. We came back and played in the yard and the weather was perfect...not too hot, not too cold...I love Fall! After that the humans went shopping and when they returned we all settled onto the sofa and loveseat for some reading and napping. Mom just read the book: The Lost Dogs - Michael Vick's Dogs and their tale of Rescue and Redemption....a must read for all you pup pal humans. After reading and some z's it was grub time and then CUPCAKES. I was super excited that mom and dad did not make it to our pet bakery for dog cookies and we actually ate real mini cupcakes..aka HUMAN Food:) YUM YUM! Mom and dad sang Happy Birthday to me and I got embarrassed and displayed my usual goober grins...but guess what? I STILL HATE BIRTHDAY HATS...yep...a woo woo woo. I had a great day celebrating another year:) Thanks for the birthday wishes and rosettes...Wuv woo all much!

eye update

Seems I have had an allergic reaction....this morning it was not just my eye but I had whelps and pustules all over my head... no wonder I was itching myself to death. Vet thinks it is a reaction to my food Canidae that just recently changed their formula!!!!!! I MUST be allergic to one of the new ingredients in the new CANIDAE!!!!!

I am eating California Naturals for allergies and also taking three Benadryl every eight hours for itching and a strong antibiotic to prevent infection from scratching.

MOM is really upset with Canidae changing there formula and not even telling customers about the change!!!! Also she is not happy that Diamond Company is manufacturing it! WHY did they change the formula....we never had one problem with the old formula!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY MESS UP A GOOD THING???????????

Eye problem...

I have a bad eye. Mom first thought it was a tiny scratch on the upper lid from Joe and I playing tag the other night. (Sometimes Joe runs up and play nips me on the face) She cleaned the tiny scratch with saline eye wash and a cotton ball. I continued to rub my eye on the edge of the sofa blanket making it red and very irritated so mom called the vet to get an appointment. I have tried to self mutilate above the eye with my paw today while she was at work and funeral home this evening making it even more red and adding a few more scratches...which now makes mom wonder if Joe even scratched me or if I scratched myself originally with my paw itching my eye....I still have my dew claws and it makes a magnificent scratching tool that mom says aaANnnNNN each time she catches me scratching. I am off to the vet tomorrow. Mom is stressed because my normal vet is not going to be there tomorrow and I will be seeing a new vet that we have not seen before. Hopefully things will go well and it won't be a big deal. I heard mom say I was getting a Rabies shot too..that was suppose to be after Christmas but they will probably go ahead and do that too tomorrow:(
Itchy Eye Cyrus

Tonight our hearts are broken....

Mom got a devastating phone call tonight that has left our hearts broken. Her best friend watched her dog get attacked and he did not make it. The next door neighbors dog jumped their fence and mauled her Maltese to death. Please say a special prayer for this family....they are at a loss of words and hearts are really hurting!

May you rest in peace little Kramer.

K 9 unit on my street tonight....

What an afternoon! Mom and the girl went to pick up pizzas and stop off by the store. Kiara, Joe, and I stayed home with dad. Before mom and the girl could get out of the drive way there were 12 cars of cops zooming up and down our street. They were chasing a Mercedes SUV that went by mom and the girl like a blurrrrrrr....they turned off on a side street 'bout a half block away from our house....next thing I knew cops were everywhere. Thirty minutes later they brought the K 9 unit and I got to watch the dogs at work. I was so fascinated with how well those dogs behave and they went right to work. The police caught one of the men, and the second guy had taken off on foot through the woods; so the dogs tracked him down after two hours and captured him. The dogs came right across from our house and through the woods next to the street he was on. Mom and dad found out that the guys tried to buy drugs from under cover officers. Mom and the girl were nervous and could hardly eat the pizzas they brought home.... but guess what? Kiara had no problem eating during all the action......bol...bol.....
Yep, the K 9 unit on my street made me wish I could have a real job like that:) It would be fun to sniff out and track someone ....I love to smell stuff...guess I will just have to dream about being in a K 9 unit tonight...sigh:)

Ok Miss Darla aka KIKI, Kiara, Queenie, Little Queen

Mom made us new pix for valentines day... and the little queen has been calling me Petey all day...mom and dad are picking on me too and saying come here Petey boy....so I did me a Google search...typed in Petey....found out about those little Rascals. I decided that I am ok with them calling me Petey, he was cool:) I must go now and torture Darla in a game of keep away:)

Happy New Year

Thank you all for the surprises and cards we doggies received at Christmas. That really meant a lot to us. You are all such great pals:)

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and send wishes for 2008 to be a year of peace, comfort, love and happiness for each one of you and your loved ones.

Life is short so mom says our new motto for the year should be to play hard, laugh often, enjoy the moments, and take time to always love one another....I told mom that is how I try to live each day:)

I already messed up with one of my resolutions for the new year... yep, just can not always control my nose:)

I did watch the humans eat without salivating a puddle on the kitchen floor...so at least I am doing good with one of my resolutions.....shhhh, don't tell but mom helped me out and wiped my chops with a paper towel when no one was looking:) Thanks mom.

It was freezing here today but we did not get any snow. I saw a few flurries while Kiara and mom were napping but that was it. I do hope Kiara gets one snow this winter. She has never played in snow...only a small dusting on the ground. My first year here I had a big snow and pulled daddy pop down on the ground while he took me out to potty on leash:) At least if it snows we have a fenced in yard so daddy pop will not bust his hiney taking us dogs out:)

I remembered!

My momma worked so hard today. First she was busy working at the kitchen bar with a lot of papers, then she said; "Ok Cyrus, lots to do and I am going to need your help since we have Joe this weekend." She got all these boxes out of the attic and then she put the green thing up with all the shiny balls and pretty lights. I smiled! Mom said; "you remember what Christmas is all about, don't you boy?" I was so excited! I did remember!!!!!! Kiara did not remember what the tree was and it was a very large booger. She barked a lot and mom kept saying Kiara knock it off; for heaven's sake it is our Christmas tree! After mom finished decorating the tree we vacumned and then she gave me that look of being over whelmed. I thought we would cuddle up for a long nap ....nope! Mom started removing the wall paper in the kitchen and told me we have a new project she and I will be working on for a few weeks. She is going to remove all the wallpaper, then she told me she and dad are going to paint and that we will get a new kitchen floor too. This should be interesting. She said it will take her a while to tackle the wallpaper removal, but with my help she says we can do anything! I am so glad mom depends on me to help. I love the tree and can not quit smiling when I look at it:) I REMEMBERED!!!!!! This means Santa Paws comes soon:)
I am off to bed for some much needed zzzzz's after this long day of work.

Thank you Pup Pals for making my birthday great

First of all I would like to say thank you to all my pup pals for the sweet paw mails and rosettes I received today. I have had a great birthday. Also thank you The Dog Park group for such a fun birthday party. Mom and dad think I actually remembered what birthdays were about this year. I have been smiling all evening and when they sung to me I stood very still and listened..mom swears I blushed while they sung....I knew cake was coming next....yep...I love cake and only get it on my birthday:) Kiara almost stuck her nose in my cupcakes while they were singing....bol...she is such a wittle pig:) After they sung to me sure enough we all got a tiny bit of cake on a plate...I LOVE BIRTHDAYS! Mom will post some pictures on my page soon of Joe, Kiara and I enjoying cake:) Thank you all again for such a wonderful birthday:)

I am the Neighborhood Watch Doggie!

Today my nauna' mom was off work and she hung around playing with us for a bit. She had to run lots of errands and so she told Kiara and I she would be back later. When she got home she was laughing and smiling at me. She told me that yesterday great nauna' (who lives next door to us) said that I was garding the neighborhood from the window. First I barked really loud when the UPS truck came. Then she said I started barking really loud and she looked out to see what I was barking about and that the neighbor was trimming trees and bushes. Then she told my nauna' that when she finally sat down and thought about a nap that I started barking again and she said it was because she had company pull into her driveway, and that she really did feel safe with me living next door cause I do not miss anything going on in the neighborhood! I felt proud knowing that I make my great nauna' feel safe:) My nauna' mom said yep...Cy you are officially the neighborhood watch doggie! Maybe she could get me a shirt that says I am the watchdoggie....an official uniform....that is a thought!
