Not Just One Will Work For All

Hey pups! I just wanted to remind you all that one certain food will not work for everyone. Mom was working the other day and had a pup parent want to feed all of her pups the same food. Some pups can handle this and some can't.

For instance my older brother Brutis who is now in pup heaven waiting for us at rainbow bridge had a very sensitive tummy. He could only eat a food with one protein source. If it had two, or too much protein his belly couldn't handle it. It was just too much for him.
My younger brother Twiz can handle anything. Mom could switch his food everyday and his tummy wouldn't skip a beat. He does best on Nutro's Ultra Small Breed Adult Food. It has three protein sources and all three are meals which means they are very concentrated souces of meat. For every one pound of chicken meal you have to have five pounds of chicken to equal the nutitional content. That means when you are comparing ingredients and one has three meat sources up towards the top and they are not meals.....and another has one meat meal source and it is the first and another a couple ingredients down....you have to take this into consideration that the one with only one or two actual meat ingredients probably has more protein because it is a meal! Meal is good!
Now, me on the other hand I am an inbetween guy. I can handle the Ultra with the three protein sources but, I don't have as firm of a stool as Mom prefers so she normally feeds me Nutro's Natural Choice Large Breed Senior formula. On special occassions or when she thinks I need an extra boost of flavor or skin & coat improvement she mixes a bag of Ultra into my regular Nutro food and I get the best of both worlds! I love the flavor of Ultra and all that yummy chiken, lamb, and salmon ....oh and I can't forget that garlic and Mom loves that I get all of the antioxidants and holistic ingredients from Ultra as well as the extra glucosamine and choindroitin for my joints!

So some last words of advice....
Remember not one formula works for every dog....dogs are different just like people!
And, if not one formula has everything you want than you can do two formulas like Mom does with me so that you can have the best of both worlds!

Talk to ya later pals!
Be back next week to talk about how to get a healthy skin and coat!
