Star pup & big boy details!

So here's the latest on the little General.

Yesterday he passed his AKC STAR puppy class, so he's now officially a star (He has been from the start, but now it's official). He was the teachers "pet", she told me during the test he was her favorite. He's was so gawky for so long, it was hard not to love him!

I'm narrowing my search on his aggression triggers. I think it's when he feels cornered that's when he flies off the handle. When Suki's playing too hard & he's done, when I go to pick him up around another dog, when he's playing on leash, and is getting directed where he doesn't want to go. These all seem to be the times we have trouble. I'm not happy about this problem, but at least I'm more educated as to where it's coming from.

In general he's a great puppy, smart, non destructive, affectionate, sweet little guy. He weighs 20 lbs now, at 5.5 months. He's a giant! He's finally grown into his enormous head! He's looking pretty proportional now, he was very gangly for a long time! He was neutered last week, he did not handle that well at all. I think he misses his little muffins. I still can't walk him far before he sits down and is uncomfortable. Poor baby.

I did a trial run at the kennel a few weeks ago. Suki does not like being kenneled, she acts to the workers like she does like it, but she really doesn't. She doesn't eat much, has the runs, and barely sleeps when she is there. They said they did great together, and that Maximus kenneled with her might get rid of her problems. Wehoo!

He's now going on big boy walks with Donna, Sneaker (corgi), Aaron (aussie), Belle (corgi), Suki & I. He loves them, and still wants to hang out with us off leash! I'm waiting for the day he takes off on his own, and I have to go hunt him down. So far he likes being around us too much to leave. It's lasting longer than I thought it would.

His training is going good. He's got the scooooch butt problem in sits and downs. He just won't stay put, he has to be as close to me as possible. Ah, we'll get it.

Well I haven't done much with the little man's diary, so I'll give him the tag I just received.

So far he's a great pup. No distruction in the house AT ALL! Wow, still so surprised by that. Potty trained, happy mellow little man. He does have some wierd aggression toward SOME dogs. Most he's great with, but there are a very small few that he doesn't like. So wierd. Suki loves him, but he's been a little aggressive with her at times, and we've needed to set him straight. She's my girl, no messing with her! He seems ok with that now. Well here's the tag. Introducting Maximus Decimus Meridus!

1. What color is your collar? - I have a 2, one is green camo, the other is robin's egg blue.

2. What kind of food do you eat? - Wellness Puppy, but switching to Wellness white fish & sweet potato very soon.

3. What are your favorite treats? - This dog LOVES treats! I have an organic turkey stick that he loves, I think the most, but nothing more than hot dogs & chicken.

4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other? - Not yet, but he'll be excepting offers!!!!!

5. Do you get Table Scraps? – Loves to lick out my yogurt containers.

6. What is your favorite toy? – A little tiny squeeky hedgehog that my buddy Yuuki's parents gave to me. I squeek it all day long, and it's the first thing I look for when I get up in the morning.

7. When is your Birthday? - January 21

8. How many times a day do you get to eat? - All day, he's a slow eater.

9. Do you have a favorite color? – He loves his robin egg blue leash, so I'll say that.

10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary? - I love getting to know my pals, BUT I understand pup's get busy.
