Oh goodness, I have blue speckles on me! Before anybody wonders...NO I am not sick/suffering from anything, and NO it was not done on purpose. You see, yesterday afternoon mamie was dyeing my mommy's hair black with a blue base and I being my inquisitive little self wondered a little too close. Mamie thought she kept me clean but as they were cleaning up the mess that was made (ya know the bottle, the mixing supplies, etc) they realized that I had somehow come into contact with dye (how is beyond them since they had towels and stuff down)and as I came into contact with it, it dyed me BLUE! I have a spot of blue on my neck, another one on my side, and two lines from we have no idea where on my back...mommy freaked out, she was NOT happy at all! But mamie figures since I get my allergy baths so often, and shed so much it will be gone in no time...it doesn't bother me at all, in fact, I didn't know I was blue until people started making a big deal about it...the way I see it, I'M PATRIOTIC for Memorial Day weekend :-D
Last night our town had fireworks in celebration of memorial day, and lucky for me these ones are shot off from a location so nearby that we could see them from our own backyard! What did that mean for me?! BONFIRE!!!!!! Yup, mamie got a nice little bonfire going, sat outside with most of the family and a neighbor drinking wine and chatting, and we all watched the fireworks go off about 10pm. Our neighbor even brought her two dogs Tyson and Ruby over to play with Ozzy and I, it was so much fun!!!
Tonight my mommy has a wedding reception to go to. I wish I could go to but apparently the venue would frown upon it...sure, frown upon it because I'm hairy...you don't know what you're missing! I can party hard! I'm a party animal...I'd only be enhancing the experience of the other guests but noooooo, I must stay home. Lucky for me mamie doesn't have to go to this wedding so I'll be home with her, and the weather is pretty nice so maybe we'll have another bonfire tonight!!!!
Alright, well, I hear somebody in the kitchen so I'm off to investigate to see if it's something I can help with!!!! I hope every woof who is celebrating this weekend has safe but fun parties/picnics!!!

Well, Sabretooth moved on into his next life like mommy thought, but not in the way she thought! She spent last Friday searching for the proper medication for him and speaking to tropical fish people. On Saturday she found the medication he needed and began to medicate him AS DIRECTED and was told she would see a change within a few days. Well, Wednesday (5 days after his first dose) came and went and NO change, he wasn't dead, but he wasn't well either...it was recommended that he be euthanized...yes, you read that right, the fish was euthanized...but not in the way you'd think, no vet was involved. Instead, mommy was instructed to add 3 tablespoons of baking soda for every quart of water into his tank. This would lull the fish to sleep and then he just wouldn't wake up and was flushed. Now we have a new fishy (in a new tank because we weren't sure what Sabretooth died of), his name is Gerbe, and I don't like him either...ugh!
It's been really hot here lately, and I mean REALLY hot, like turn on the A/C kind of hot. This is very atypical for Buffalo in May but I am one happy little guy! As much as it sucks to be so hot all of the time I'd rather need to drink extra water and hide in shade than have to be bundled up in sweaters and jackets and walking my little butt through a ton of snow! Bring on summer!!!
Today I am baking cookies with mamie (mommy is here too), it's a Chocolate Chip cookie kind of day! I of course cannot eat them because they have chocolate but I do still LOVE to help!
In other news my histiocytoma is beginning to look GROSS but we hear that is a good sign, means I am healing...woohoo, go me!!! Let's hope this thing continues to heal because I don't want to be going back to the vet anytime soon!
Alright I gotta jet, another round of cookies is set to be put in the oven, plus I gotta see that mommy heads back to work on time!!!

So, my mommy has another pet. His name is Sabretooth (see a pattern here, I'm Puck, and he's Sabretooth, named after the Buffalo Sabres mascot), he's a fishy, a betta fishy to be exact. I don't like him much, in fact, all I like about him is that a. for once I am bigger than something, and b. when I peer my beady little eyes into the sides of his tank he flares himself out all cool and looks real mad! Mommy says I'm not being very nice and that I'm tormenting him but I say psh, too bad, price he pays for being smaller than me, and doing cool magic like making himself look like a fan!
Anyways, the fishy seems to be getting sick (ugh, I'll probably be blamed for giving him a heart attack or something, great). He sits on the bottom of his tank 90% of the time, instead of swimming around all active and happy, doesn't eat much, if at all, instead of eating like a pig, and is losing the color on his face. To me that means...take him to the VET but apparently it's not that simple with fish, apparently you basically need to diagnose him yourself and then make sure you get the proper treatment be it antibiotics or water treatment...eyeroll, and I'm told I'm the little pain in the butt?! HELLO! A trip to the vet and I'd be on the mend already! Mommy has been doing some research (ugh, her and this stupid computer...always gets her into trouble because she reads things she shouldn't and panics) and she's got it narrowed down to Ick, Velvet, or a Bacterial infection...cool beans, now fix it so I can go back to being the problem child! Apparently though, it's still not that easy because the treatment he needs depends upon what it is. So what does that mean?! More research! Oh boy! Apparently for bacterial infections the fish may need antibiotics, but the trouble with that is...they have to be special ordered and can take days, unlike the stuff you can buy at the pet store to add to their water. So, again, more research and now mommy has it narrowed down to three medications. I guess she's off to the pet store tomorrow to talk to somebody and see which problem they think he has and which medication is best...again I say AND I'M the PROBLEM CHILD?! I hope the fishy turns out all better, even though I don't like him!
Yesterday was a GREAT day for ME! Mommy had soccer practice and her soccer practice was at this GIANT soccer park with over 30 fields, and a track going a mile or so all the way around! It goes up hill and down hill and around corners and everything, and guess what! My mamie went to soccer practice with mommy so she could walk little ole' me around the track! I got to sniff all kinds of yummy smelling things, see all kinds of little kids, and big kids kicking the ball around, and even seen the marines doing their running! Wowzers was I excited! I had never been to that park before so on top of being excited for a walk I was excited to be somewhere new!
Today was a beautiful day here in Buffalo. Nice and sunny, and warm enough for me to hang outside naked! WOOHOO!!!! AND, mamie and mommy both had some outdoor stuff to accomplish this afternoon/evening which meant even more time outside for me...go me, go me...now that's something the fishy can't do! :-P
In other medical news my histiocytoma is beginning to look GROSS which my vet warned my mommy and my mamie would happen as it heals...so I guess this is a good sign! It's turning black (which we hear happens as it prepares to fall off)! Hopefully this is a good sign and it goes away soon...that would be a weight lifted off mommy's shoulders. Occasionally when I scrape it or bump it, it bleeds a bit (not a lot) and that panicked mommy for a while, but she did some research/asked some friends whom are vet techs and found out that bleeding is normal! Even more weight off mommy's shoulders. It still isn't bothering me, I don't even know it's there except when mommy checks it out...but if it's bothering mommy, I want it gone.
Alright, I think I've blabbed enough for the night! Hopefully I'll be back soon!

Hello all! I suppose I should first update you on the medical troubles I had last week. The vet said my histiocytoma would begin to heal itself and be gone in roughly 6 weeks, but he also warned us that as they heal they tend to look pretty disgusting. Mom says mine is beginning to look a bit disgusting so this is a good sign I guess! WOOHOO!!!!
Now onto the good stuff. The weather here has been awesome lately! Warm enough for me to go outside naked, no rain (until today for about an hour), and I've gotten to spend A LOT of quality time outside! Just yesterday I did the back gardens with mamie. I don't really help much, but I do love to find myself a comfy sunspot to lay in, AND I do enjoy watching my brother Ozzy try to chase the birdies...don't worry, no birdies have been harmed, he can't get them!
I have been spending lots and lots of time with my mamie these days because my mommy is back to work full-time for the summer while she has no school. This means she is working Monday-Friday 8-4, instead of just 8-12, AND I hear rumor that she picked up 2 hours on Saturday for something called over-time with Saturday differential. I have to say, as much as I love my mamie and the time I spend with her, I do kind of miss having my mommy home from 12pm on every day, but I guess if it means more money for her to spend on me, I'm all for it...spoil me spoil me spoil me!
My mamie just left me to go to an appointment she had, and my mommy (who came home on her lunch break) has to return to work in an hour, which means she has to leave in 30 minutes. Whatever am I going to do? I don't like being left home alone (even though I'm not alone, I have my brother Ozzy, and my grandpa, and my Unka Jay is sleeping)...I get so bored, and always feel like they're gone for an eternity and never coming back...hmph!
I hear somebody upstairs, must be grandpa, I think I'm gonna run up and con him into a treat and then con him into a nice little puggy nap for a while, maybe by the time I wake up mamie or mommy will be home for the night!!!

Well. First and foremost I must announce that mommy took her final exam on Monday and guess what! SHE PASSED!!!!!! She is officially onto her fourth and final semester of nursing school...but first, a couple months off!
Okay now onto the "news". A couple days ago my mommy noticed a small, pink, hairless, rough lump on my left hind leg and oh man did that create a panic! She immediately thought the worst and began to cry. Now before anybody thinks "oh what a drama queen" I should probably remind you of my papa Meatball. You see, Meatball bumped him face on a door and then developed a lump, everybody, vet included figured it was an owie. Well, when said owie didn't go away it became evident that it was cancer, but by this time it had already spread and Meaty went to the bridge shortly after that. Mommy was just worried that I, at the young age of 3 was going to end up being the next Meaty. She did some research and had a couple of her friends whom are vet techs assess my lump yesterday and both of them agreed they believed it to be a histiocytoma. When I first heard this I was puzzled...I HAVE A WHAT?! I don't feel sick, I don't see anything/feel anything strange! I thought they were crazy. Well, mommy started to research histiocytomas and was pretty calm because they're benign and usually resolve on their own, calm until, one website informed her that something called a Mast Cell Tumor often mimics a histiocytoma and that makes them dangerous because the only way to rule them out is biopsy but because of their benign appearance they go undetected until they've spread. Oh boy, there went mommy again freaking out. As I'm sure you've all guessed it was off to the vet for me today, to be poked and prodded, and looked all over. The vet checked my eyes....infected, checked the spot on my butt I like to chew due to allergy....infected, things weren't looking too promising, then, he decided to stick a needle into my lump at three different sections of it...I flinched a little but never cried. Then he went and stained what he found, looked under the microscope and confirmed that I have a histiocytoma. WOOHOO, no cancer for me!!!!! The vet said in a couple months my lump should regress on it's own and he only needs to see me back if it decides not to. He also warned mommy that when these things are healing they can begin to look quite nasty. I have eye drops for my eye infection, and a special cream for my booty infection and the histiocytoma, and when all was said and done I got to get myself a timbit (doughnut hole) from Tim Hortons for being a good boy!!!! OH AND, the vet announced that I have even lost some weight!!!! GOOOOOOOOOO ME!
Alright well, I just woke up for a puggy nap to write this and now I'm full of energy so I'm gonna go play and try to con somebody into taking me outside to run in the yard!!!

OH NO! Sound the alarms everybody, call the police, call the vet, call EVERYBODY you know...I have an owie on my head. Now to me, this is NO big deal, heck, I didn't even know it existed, but to mommy this is the end of the world. She noticed it this morning, a little bit of blood stuck in my little furs on my head. This prompted a full blown search of my little head to find the source of the "massive" bleeding...eyeroll! When all was said and done it was determined that I either A. Scratched myself, B. Bumped my head climbing under something, or C. Did it playing with my brother Ozzy and the neighbors big dogs last night! HELLO MOM, I weight 17 pounds, the other three weight a solid 50-80 each, I'm bound to get battered and bruised...if it wasn't bothering me, it shouldn't bother you either...and really, did you have to wash the blood off? It made me look tough!
Last night mother nature really put on a show here for all of us. The wind came in quite nicely, then the lightning, then the thunder, and bam it was raining. The lightning was bright, the thunder was rattling the house. At first I was happy, it was exciting, but as time went on and I wanted to sleep I started to get a little miffed. Now come on mother nature, a handsome little devil such as myself needs my beauty sleep...three hours of storms was excessive.
We Yankee fans (or perhaps just fans of the game of baseball in general) received some bad news last night. You see, our closer, Mariano Rivera has a pre-game ritual of shagging fly balls in the outfield during batting practice to warm-up, he's done it every day since he started playing baseball, and had even made it pretty clear that before retirement (likely after this season) he wanted to play outfield once. Well, last night didn't go as planned. It had rained in KC and the field was slick, Mo went back for a ball, slipped, and went down in agony...an apparent knee injury. He was carted off the field and assessed by training staff who diagnosed him with a twisted right knee before sending him to a KC hospital for an MRI and further evaluation...the results were NOT promising. The MRI revealed that our dear Mo, arguably one of the best closers in baseball has torn his ACL and also partially torn is meniscus...he will be re-evaluated by his own doctor in New York when he returns but he wants to stay with the team in Kansas City right now, and frankly isn't expecting the NY doctors to say anything different. UGH! What does this mean? A. No Mo for the season, B. A very long and grueling rehab process, and C. Mo's retirement will likely be caused by this injury, rather than in his own time, on his own terms, with the proper send off he deserves for all of his years of service! GET WELL SOON MO!!!!
School is coming to an end for the semester for my mommy!!! YAY!!!! That means summer vacation, which of course means she will be working but it also means work will be ALL she's worried about so no late night study sessions, no weekend long study sessions, no anything! Now, I just need to help her study for Monday's final exam and be done til August!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!
Alright, well, mamie is eating goldfish crackers right now, and those are my favorite so I'm off to try and snag some!

Wait a minute here...I thought my mommy was the one aspiring to be a nurse here? How did I get deemed nurse Puck?! Oh, wait, that's cuz mommy has been sick, and when mommy gets sick I have to step up and take care of her! Saturday morning she woke up with a terrible sore throat that progressed throughout the day to just about everything upper body being bad. By Sunday it was bad enough to warrant a trip to the urgent care for treatment because her throat even hurt to breathe...oh no! She was tested for strep...negative, and mono...yup mono, again and negative, so that's good news right? Well, yes, and no. Turns out mommy has a virus...ICK, harder to treat. So what was the game plan? Steroids for the inflammation in her throat (which was so raw it was bleeding), rest, and fluids...simple right? WRONG, mommy had a BIG nursing test today that she absolutely refused to miss so this became a huge problem. This morning mommy woke up feeling a smidge better, not much, but a bit so it was off to school she went, trouble is, she can't sleep. NOTHING puts her to sleep...not even nyquil. How is one supposed to get fully better without any sleep? UGH! And that is one problem nurse Puck cannot handle :-(
In other news, we had our first Spring thunderstorm tonight! A big booming one, it didn't last long, but it was good enough to shake the whole house! At first I was not a fan, but then it really caught my attention and I actually enjoyed it! The weather man says we may get more of those this week as the weather is due for a good warm-up! Part of me hopes he is wrong because I HATE rain and muddy paws, but part of me hopes he is right because I LOVED the storm! Let's just hope I have one good, dry, evening for a bonfire with mamie!
I've been a busy little dude these past few days. I helped bake color burst cupcakes on Friday, these are literally rainbow battered cupcakes layered to form a rainbow, soo cool looking, and also some double chocolate cookies (that I can't eat) but boy did they smell good! Then I helped mamie clean the yard, and clean the house...apparently my brother Ozzy and I make quite the mess between our hair, our toys, and our "piles" left outside...who knew?!
Alright well, since it is 2:30 in the morning I should go try and get mommy to fall asleep! Hopefully I can pop back in soon!

Man oh man did I dodge a bullet. Ya see, earlier this week we here in Buffalo were supposed to get slammed by a bad Nor'easter that was going to dump a foot and a half of heavy wet snow on us. My brother Ozzy was THRILLED, this is his type of weather, I was not thrilled. I sat back saying "Are you kidding me mother nature, it's the end of April!"...ya see, I happened to like the days of going outside to do my business naked, having bonfires in the backyard with the mamie and the neighbors, and falling asleep comfortably with the windows letting fresh air flow in...I was instantly mad at whomever ticked mother nature off this bad.
Well, everything was setting up perfectly, the air was chilly, and rain had come in as it was supposed to, we had the generator ready to go (because heavy wet snow is notorious for knocking power lines down), we were prepared. The snow moved in about 9am as anticipated, but wasn't sticking. I didn't get too excited though and Mr. Weather Man said that it would take til later in the day to stick because the ground was too warm. Around 10:30am it was beginning to stick, Ozzy was the happiest I've seen him, running around, catching snow on his tongue, and then it happened...the temps spiked up a bit, the snow turned to rain, and everything melted. Ozzy immediately went into a state of depression, literally as he curled himself up into a husky ball and napped his day away, now, it was my turn to do a happy dance, and boy did I...goodbye snow!
In other news, Tuesday was my grandma's birthday! Mommy had flowers delivered to her and signed my name and everything...see I'm a good catch! In sadder news, Tuesday also would have been my Papa Meaty's birthday...he'd have been 10 whole years old! If you're reading this up at the bridge Meaty I hope they threw you a HUGE party with all of your favorite treats and toys!!!!
Mommy has ANOTHER nursing test coming up on Monday and ya know what that means...more stress! UGH, I swear, all they do is take one test after another after another, and I've heard mumbling that the week after this test is something called a final exam which as I understand it means she gets tested on EVERYTHING she's already been tested on before getting a few month break for summer! She has a countdown going, I think I'll join in...May 7th, come fast!!!!
Alright well, it's pretty dark and dreary here today which means it's perfect nap weather for me! I'm gonna go curl up on the couch and sleep for a while!

Well, yesterday was my mommy's 24th Birthday and even though I spent the entire day with her I still wanted to take the time to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY here on my dogster page!
Mom had the day off from work so she got to sleep in and then just relax and enjoy herself. Tanning and breakfast with my mamie, spoiled by her boyfriend with dinner from the cheesecake factory and all kinds of gifties...nothing was as good as what she received from her family on her 21st birthday though...ME! Yup, three whole years (and a few months cuz I came early) I arrived here, wrapped in a blankie to meet my new family...I was mommy's birthday gift that year, and as she tells me, I was her cutest gift ever!!! Woohoo!
Along with her being spoiled means I was as well. I got to snack on little pieces of her dinner, spend extended time periods in sun spots, and lounge on the couch in my Yankees jersey watching the home opener...her birthday and I get spoiled? Hmm, seems odd but I'm not complaining, spoil away mommy!!!! When's the next birthday in this house? Will I be spoiled for that one too?
Tomorrow is supposed to be a warmer day here but I keep hearing something about rain...the men of the house are going to play golf all afternoon so I'm hoping the rain holds off so they can get their game in and I can con mommy and mamie into extended time outside...after all, it needs to be warm for my little self to want to stay out there too long!
I wish I had more to say but I spent the day lounging and stuff with mommy so I don't have much else going on today! Plus, I'm a pretty tired dude, it's very late here and all the partying, and spoiling really kind of wore me out...hopefully tomorrow I'll be well rested and I'll have more adventures to talk about!!!

Wowzers has it been a long time since I visited here. Sorry everybody, I've just been a very busy dude lately.
First and foremost let me say I hope all of my wonderful pals had a great and happy Easter with their friends and families. I spent mine helping mommy study for a nursing test and mamie cook ham, potatoes, vegetables, and dinner rolls...and naturally I got to try some as well!
Things here have been pretty non-exciting but busy as usual. Most of you probably know that my beloved Sabres were eliminated from playoff contention last week making their season end on Saturday at the conclusion of the regular season. This broke my little puggy heart but at least the end of hockey coincides with the beginning of baseball! Mommy has even bought me my very own Yankees jersey!!! Now, if only the Yankees could remember how to play baseball and win I'd be in business!
Mommy's birthday is this coming Friday! I have no idea what to get her. Mamie and the big guy got her an exercise bike, her boyfriend got her all kinds of Yankees stuff and my Unkie Jay had planned on getting her tickets to game 4 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs until the Sabres decided to lose and not make the playoffs so now he has no idea what to get her either. I was her birthday present 3 years ago (well I came a few months before her birthday) and quite frankly I can't see anything coming close to be as special as I am :-P, guess I'll just have to put my thinking cap on and figure something out!
The weather here has been less than fabulous. Don't get me wrong, it's good for Buffalo, close to the 50's, very little rain, but I guess I was spoiled by those 70 and 80 degree days we had back in mid March...I thoroughly enjoyed going outside to do my business without a shirt on, now I need to wear my fleece jacket and everything.
Alright well, I'm actually pretty tired. I've had a day full of chewies, treats, and play time already so I'm in need of a good puggy nap! I'll try to stop back in soon!
