12/05/11 WHAT!!!!!December 5th 2011 10:06 am[ View A Comments (14) ]
This morning momma was up really early working on the quilt that she is making for daddy. When she took a break she turned on the computer and checked the weather conditions in New Mexico where we will be moving to. They were expecting snow, with a high of 23 degrees and the low tonight to be -5 degrees. WHAT!!!??? -5 degrees!!! Are they kidding?
I would love that weather but since you aren't a husky, I doubt that you will like it much. It is going to be quite an adjustment for your humans. My Mommy hates it here in the winter, and our weather is warmer than that at the moment. If it is in a more rural area, you might lose power frequently so I would suggest a back up generator. ohh...that will be cold for me too, hopefully by the time you move there it will be warmer and you can deal with next winter then... It's very rural - there are no cell phone connections; the roads aren't paved; neighbors aren't close by; no door to door mail delivery; the nearest grocery store is one hour away. The good thing about the weather where we will be moving to is the snow does not linger long so the really cold weather tends to pass by fast. Uh, Puff, have you heard of a thing called "wind chill"? That is probably why the snow doesn't linger, it gets blown away, by cold wind, making it feel Really cold. But just think of it as fun: you can create yellow icicles. :-/ Good luck. There are indoor potty patch things maybe your pawrents could check into. Sounds like you'll have to get some of those boots for pups and wear them, but as far as your pee freezing, and to your manhood...OUCH!! I think the pawrents better get busy planning something better! Woof Woof, Buddy I's had to go out in those negative temperatures before - it are no fun. When me and momma lived in Boston while she went to law school, it was negative cold a lot. I had lil pink boots to wear outside to protect my feetsies. I hated them at first, but I realized they kept the ice out of my toeses, then I thought dem was ok. I'm happy we're somewhere a lot warmer now! Puff.. you can move east with me .. we have plenty of room at the wag hotel ..( hehehehe ) .. i only have 6 beds.. and mommy would love to snuggle wif you ! so come on east if it gets to cold !! LOL ! Well, Puff..now that winter has settled in here. Let me tell you that a generator is a good idea! Sometimes for short power outages we will use candles and kerosene lamps. they make flashlights that windup and don't use batteries so never without...they are so cool! Have the new bright lights in them. Pee pads, potty patches or doggie litter work well for these times when weather isn't great! I wasn't very old when my 1st. winter came.... so we fully trained to pee pads 1st. then added outdoor training. I use both.... I never go anywhere but my station or outside. I don't like the boots and refuse to wear them.... Mutluks are leather with shearling inside and zippers. Great Grandma's Schnauzer wears them all the time. They do have alot of ice in Indiana....Human infant stocks work well too. Since I've now decided, I do not embrace winter like I did for 4 yrs. We are going to try the bootie socks again. Tonight our 1st. cold cold night -9.... Puffy...sometimes my little tinkler gets too cold and piddle has froze to it....have a variety of coats and sweaters for the weather. Absolutely train Mom to have Hot Towels going in the dryer.... This is a MUST! Lots of products online and in pet store for cold climates... We've been trying to meet a doxie at dogster that lives in Alaska....colder there than here...See what they do.....????Grandma actually chose me, because she can't take much cold anymore....Most doxies Hate the Cold! They do watch me close feet, ears for frostbite.... When is this big move?????????? Get to planning....... kisses and huggies, Mazy OMD Puff, you had me rollin' on the floor with the pictures in my head of icicles and legs stuck up! BOL BOL BOL!! My suggestion is to take care of business very fast! Besides if the wind is blowing up your behind it's not worth staying out there for too long anyways. Hey, Puff! I shood send yu all my fweaters an' coatses an' t-shirts an' junk?? It soundes wike yu r gonna need all ob dem!! Yu du nod eben need answer - I r on it, my fwiend :D My suggestion is to take care of business very fast. Besides if the wind is blowing up your behind it's not worth staying out there for too long anyways. Don't forget to write your name in the snow. All boys do that. I would love snow and cold weather personally but, I am a big hairy dog bred to handle stuff like that. Mom assures me your male hood won't freeze from going potty. I suggest that if you have to go outside to go potty then your Mommy and Daddy need to join you out there. If you have to suffer they should have to too. I don't mind the cold but, I still make my Mom come outside and do her "Missy come in dance" it makes me smile seeing her do that when there is ice on the ground. BOL! I likes snow-- fur about a day and then I's over it!! BOL!! Dat back-up generator sounds like a "must have"!! |
