Update on Racer.
Racer developed muscle tremors after last entry and due to the severity of that he had to undergo blood panel and urine test. The tremors were intense causing every muscle to vibrate at high speed and his head got to jerk (tick) uncontrollable all the time even at rest. His liver and kidneys were elevated but not seriously and his sodium high and others low. In consultation with specialists ,different problems he could have, were brought up including lept0sporosis, which his vet felt it was not as we do not have it in our area, but went ahead and tested for it and Racer came up with positive 2 out of 7 but that is indicitive of a reading from dosage in a puppy shot he may of gotten at 8 wks from breeder. His vet does not vaccinate for that as it is not necessary. Many calls from the vet and my calls to him have taken up now almost 4 weeks. The Tremors came on as of 2 weeks ago the 7th. His vet feels his tests were indictive of deydration and lose of electrolites which I felt all along. So far the vet has not contacted me yet as to where to go from here, he has another VOM adjustment on the 15th but I think I will need to get more of one of his supplements if vet ever gets back to me from my call yesterday.
As of right now they have stopped, he is now playing and jumping around the house and yard. He is eating really well now and drinking lots of water.
It looks good for recovery from my view point.

As Racer's mom and since Racer can not speak to me to tell me what happened I am telling this from my point. Racer somehow was injured at dog park and no way to know how but he hunched up and tucked his tail between his legs and would not play and I had to pick him up and put him in my lap. He did not eat and seemed in pain so I rushed him to vet. It was his back and xrays showed some trouble in spine but his stomach was clear of foreign objects. He was given holistic pills for inflamation and to help his immune system but the immune system one made him violently sick. He had not eated at that point in two days and when he did try he would vomit every ten minutes for an hour. He was taken off that pill but then refused to eat and lay in his dark crate for three days not wanting food and only sips of water, the vet was perplexed and so was I. He finally ate on his 5th day when I offered him ground sirloin. Then with constant contact with vet he finally went poop but has been having problems with that as it is constipation and dry so we are working on that now. Racer is not his funny antic self and has been very sick. He will not play and is only finally getting in to my lap as he wanted no one around him. He is making progress little by little . Please keep healing thoughts for Racer.

January 14,2005

I had a wonderful Christmas with my human sister. She has gone back to England now and I miss her. I go to her room and stand up and try to open the door handle but it is too hard to turn. Mom and dad say it is ok Racer, she is gone but will return. How long is 8 months? I do not know how long it is. 10 minutes seems like forever to me, mom says.

It rained the whole month so I am barely able to get back to the dog park to play with my friends. I get depressed when the sun is not out and it is raining. I hate the rain. I just lay in my moms lap or on my comforter in front to the heat dish by my crate. I bug mom till she sits down so I can get in her lap and she can cover me with blanket. I have to wear my hoodie all the time too and that bugs me.
But sun is out today and mom and I walked at the park. She will take me to go to dog park later after my nap. I am looking forward to that today!
well got to go take my nap.

I am sooooo happy. My sister came home for Christmas, not sure what that is but mommie is really happy and talking about that and sister coming home. She arrived very late with my daddy who drove to LAX to get her. She is in school in England so she lives there for a while. I heard my mommie say her name and I new who it was. I leaped and jump at her when she came in the door , but I remembered she does not like that so I sat down in front of her for a pet, then she says to me, I missed your jumping Racer. So I jumped up and kissed her. She laughed and picked me up and cuddled me. I am so happy.

I hate it ! I hate it! Rained all day. I do not like rain. I do not like to go out in the rain. I had to hold my potty because I will not go out in rain or do my business in my home. So finally around 2 pm it let up and I ran out fast to potty. My mommie was so busy with her work on computer I had to entertain myself. I slept in front of heater most of the day anyway but come the time I usually go to the dog park to play I was full of mischief. I bugged and bugged my mommie. I tore up the house. She finally got the message and played with me. I really hate the rain!!!

Nov 5 2004

So I see my mom getting all dressed up, make up and I knew she as going to leave me, so I bothered her all the time, tugging, pawing and yipping at her. She left me! My dad was holding me and I saw her go. I cried the whole time. I could not go to sleep. I howled and cryed. Dad said she will be back soon. I would not go to bed . I cried and cried and cried. Finally I hear the garage door, I danced and barked and charged the door and as the door opened and I leaped full speed into her arms, she caught me and I kissed her so much. She sat me on the bed and I watched her get ready to come to bed. As soon as she was under ther covers I snuggled up to her, sighed and made my contented mouth noises. I was in my mom's arms again and cuddled now I am happy.

Nov 3,2004

well another great day for me. Got my nice walk at waller park and then fun times at woof pack park where my girlfriend Clovis the whippet chased me around. I also so the ex racer greyhound named Jamie, she gave me a kiss and stayed by me and my mom. She is nice .The only thing I did not like was when my mom left me for 30 minutes in my crate. I cried the whole time she was gone . Then as she opened my crate I leaped into her arms as always and kissed her then wanted my greenie. She laughs when I leap from the ground to her arms . She thinks she taught me that but I am an acrobat. Dinner was my favoite again but mom added the tuna biscuts she makes for me. OF course it is streight to bed after dinner and I will have dessert later wonder what flavor freeze dried ice cream it will be, but I will have to hide before teeth brushing time.

Dec. 2 2004

Today mom took me to woof pack park and it was a good day. I raced a standard poodle on the fence, gosh I love fence racing, I always win. It was really have fun play with all my pals. Then it got really cold and I had to have my coat put on. I still had to get in everyones lap for warmth though. Mom took me home because I was just too cold. I had my chicken with the rice mom makes and cottage cheese which is ok but not my favorite. I had my all time favorite , my greenie after . Mom only lets me have two a day, I really would like more. Later I had my freeze dried ice cream, it was peanut butter this time. Then teeth brushed, I ran and hide my crate but she caught me. Oh well tomorrow is another day!
