Arrival Story: Bio:
Jolanda - oh boy, she is the funniest dog I have ever met. She makes me mad and laugh and roll my eyes - the whole nine yards. I always call her soundmachine and shoebox. She is square and strong, loves to bark when playing, has no dignity, is clumsy and when she got something on her mind, it is on her mind for sure. She is easy to love, an easy going and eager dog with a whole lot of energy at the right time. Jolanda used to be a farm dog, herding cattle, living with the herd and taking care of herself most the time. She has a strong work ethic and an excellent attitude. She can switch between serious working dog to wacko goofball in a split second. She came to us after she got injured and had puppies. I found her annoying when we first got her, since she was so clingy. My husband decided to adopt her, he wanted his own dog (I am sitting here laughing). Jolanda adopted me from the first second she saw me and showed no interest in my husband for a long time. She is very easy to train, quick like an arrow, focused, joyful, learns within seconds and loves to show off - both my dogs do. Jolanda is super sensitive to all sorts of things. She has alerted a diabetic and his wife to his going into diabetic shock, she made my husband go to check his thyroid, she found cancer, she detected a stroke... name it, she does it. She cares about me only, would do anything for me, behaves so exceptionally well, only to be around me. She is a serious worker but a wonderful and funny companion. I don't know how I deserve these two heroins of mine. Dunno*****************
We just found one of Jolanda's babies Weezel She gave birth to 7 puppies on New Year's Day in 2006 *yay* Weezel's great family and we found each other thanks to Dogster and Ann from Milo Foundation who makes and effort to re-unite the whole family. Can't wait :o)
Bio: Jolanda was published in a calendar, and has appeared on TV *gg*

We are so proud of our friend! She just called us up and let us know how she felt about mom's words. She has issues in her marriage and does not know where to turn. Mom helped her to find a start and "Emma" (fake name) grabbed the opportunity to move on.
Sometimes you just have to find some first step. The messiest situation can be untangled one step at a time.
I am glad "Emma" will take care of herself. She is a very brave woman and it takes a lot of courage to step up, start over or change directions.
Thank you for your support my friends. Sometimes everything happens at the same time. Not only for us, but for others as well *sigh*
Mom, dad and I wanted to go to the Embarcadero for the tree and building lightening for Christmas. They even had a free show by Disney on ice.
Mom went on a really nice walk with us and then walked out the door without me!
But they came back quickly. They didn't go. Mom has been awfully quiet for the last few days. She had too much on her mind. It wasn't easy. She felt that swallowing it would have been dishonest. So she needed some time to tell a person, who she really likes, things that might be challenging for the other person. I know mom well and she is always afraid that telling will break friendships apart. But a friendship is about honesty, trust and care. Mom has to be patient and trust that the other person will give it a thought and weigh if it applies or not.
So she had a lot on her mind and wanted to be mindful about it and not rush it.
Christmas ceremonies will come back next year and the year after. Friendships might not.
Last week our car broke down on our way to dad's workplace.. Mom managed to pull into a parking lot and barely made it - good job mom :o)
Dad took care of everything and mom and us went to get cat food in the mean time. We got to hang out in the pet store :o) We got treats and lots of attention from other customers, which was pretty cool. Mom had a conversation with a really nice guy who had two Staffordshire Terrier. Stunning dogs and really fun. He does tracking and SAR work with them. Mom cuddled the two and the guy cuddled us. He was so kind. He had these really cool beef treats and did some tricks with us and his dogs. We all had to do the same things. I won the whole thing. It was no competition, but you know me ;o)
When we got back outside, dad was still working on the car. Mom was frustrated and so was dad. So we were frustrated, too. We had no idea why we were supposed to be, but we wanted to help out.
Dad said that somehow all sorts of stuff goes wrong at the moment. All of it has to do with money *sigh* But well, all passes at some point.
We took the car to the shop and they fixed the problem for us. We were so glad.
After we dropped off the car, we decided to do some discovery trip with public transportation. Oh boy.. these guys. We took several buses, trams, walked in order to try out the lines and their connections. That was so exhausting but mom and dad seemed happy about their success. Oh well, why not.
Next day we couldn't do a whole lot, because mom had to wait for the shop to call, so she could pick up the car. Guess what she did? Correct... She again did her deep cleaning thing. This time we hung out on mom's and dad's bed and watched her go round and round and round. She had the music on really loud and stopped by dogster once in a while ;o)
Dogster helps with the deep cleaning :o))
On the weekend then, we met a little mud by the name Yolanda!! Can you imagine? Her mom was Mexican and so her name was spelled with a Y instead of a J. That was pretty cool. Sure enough, mom and the woman chatted themselves away and we goofed around on the meadow. Yolanda was nice.. :o)
On Monday or Tuesday, I forgot, we went to dad's workplace and did some writing. It looks like we have another talk coming up *yay* It is not set in stone, yet, but once it is, we will let you know.
After work, it was already an hour past dinner time, we went to Trader Joe's. I was so so so so hungry and totally uncoordinated. I think my sugar was low ;o)
Mom got me a banana and had me eat it. Everybody felt so sorry for me and told mom that she has to feed me! Yes, right - you all tell her. Poor me. I even got a donation - thanks Traders - I got an apple on top! That was brilliant. I was so grateful so I did some entertaining for the customers. We had quite a crowd standing around us and I got applause. Sometimes I need this and it pumps up my working spirit..
I think this will be my new strategy - looking miserable and being uncoordinated. After a little break mom told me to find dad, who in the mean time had continued our shopping spree. I walked through the aisles and found him in the corner, checking out turkeys!! Dad for president! We did not bring a turkey home, but I know something is cooking around here. Mom and dad talk about inviting people after Thanks Giving for a BBQ :o) That means loads of meat for us.. I told Jojo right away and she was really excited.
We will let you know ;o)
