Ho Hum...

That is what I say because I was totally bored today! Mom was at work and dad washed mom's car for her. I did hang out with dad while he washed the car, but we didn't play:( Mom came home for a few mintues, but was back out the door and didn't come home for a few hours. Not sure where she went, but when she got home her hair was a different color!!! It looks pretty, but kind of scary that she can go away and come back that different. I did a little bad thing later that night. I was cuddling with mom on the sofa, but had my hiney near her face and a little SBD slipped out. I didn't try it and I was so embarassed! Poor mom, I knew it hit her hard and even dad caught a wiff of it at the other end of the sofa. I quick turned around and gave mom a kiss to tell her I was sorry and she just laughed:D She said that I'm definitely part of the family in every way. Glad she wasn't mad at me. Mom said Tuesday night I can go to bocce with her and dad... yipee! I wonder if my friend Sophie will be there?

My weekend in Raystown

The suspense is over, we went to my friend Tanner C.'s cabin at Raystown this weekend. It was mom, dad, Brett and me. Tanner was there with his mom and dad. We didn't get there until dark on Friday, but I was really happy to see Tanner:) We played in the cabin until it was time for bed. Mom and I slept in one room while dad and Brett slept in another. Tanner slept with his mom and dad downstairs. Saturday the weather was yucky:( It threatened storms and rained off and on all day and we were suppose to go swimming, but because we had to drive 20 minutes to swim, mom said it wouldn't be worth it with the storms. So Tanner and I just hung out. That was okay, but I was pretty bored. Plus, we were pretty much confined to the porch or inside because mom said they have rattlesnakes pretty bad there and we couldn't run around and explore like we wanted too:( We did get to go for a little walk between storms so that was a nice change. Later that evening, two of our parents' friends (Carl and Deb) came to stay with us. That wound Tanner up having new people there. Tanner is one of my bestest friends, but because he is still so young (1 1/2 years) he can be a bit excitable and hard to calm down. There were a few times throughout that day that I had to hide by mom so he would let me rest. I love my friend Tanner, but I also like my down time and Tanner, he's like the Energizer bunny who keeps going and going and going... LOL:D Plus, he's still learning stuff and his mom has to talk to him a lot and I tried to tell him if he would listen to her he wouldn't keep hearing "Tanner No!" Heck, I'll be hearing "Tanner No!" in my dreams for days... LOL:D Sunday, our parents went out on the boat. I really wanted to go, but it wasn't our parents' boat, but a friend of Tanner's mom and dad and they don't allow dogs on their boat. That is just wrong! Heck, I wouldn't do anything. I would just love being in a new place and enjoying the sun and water. You all know how much I love the water!!! But Tanner and I couldn't go so we stayed at the cabin. We played a little, but I stayed upstairs most of the time. Tanner wouldn't come up because there was a small gate and he wouldn't cross it. Me, I just jumped it. I just needed to be by myself because I was really sad that I couldn't go with mom:'( When they all got back a few hours later, it was time to pack up and go home. It was nice to get away and be with my friend Tanner, but I was kind of happy to go home too. There isn't much for us doggies to do in Raystown and I was kind of bored. Maybe if the weather would have been better Tanner and I could have been outside more and did more things. Anyway, when I got home I got a shower (as I was all dirty from Tanner's kisses and the stone dust) and it felt good. Mom said today I'll have to miss my agility class because she has an appointment for hair highlights (whatever they are) and she won't be home in time. She said she was sorry and made the appt. on a non-class night, but when we moved up to Coleen's class, that was on a different night and mom tried to change her appt. but they didn't have anything. Oh well, I'll just chill.

I've been raked!!!

I can't believe it... I've been raked!!! It was the scariest thing ever. Mom got this thing out that I thought was a normal brushing, but when she started, it pulled out my hair!!!! I started to freak out when I saw my hair piling up on the floor. I had flashbacks from the last time I was at the groomers and my hair was falling off faster than I could say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"! I couldn't believe mom was doing this to me... AGAIN! Mom worked on me for about half an hour. Mom told me that was just dead hair that was hanging on to me and now I should feel much better having it be gone. I must admit, I did feel better. My raking was my big excitement for the day. Dad didn't do anything except make phone calls and do some errands which he didn't take me along:( When mom came home, she had a bunch of groceries that we unpacked and after that, she cleaned the house. She always was packing for the weekend and I know I'm going along because she packed my bag too:) I'm not sure where we're going this weekend, but mom said she knows I'll have fun... I can't wait! Since I won't be home again this weekend, I'll bark at you when I return. Have a great weekend everyone:D

Great night on America's Got Talent!

Last night I went on a trail ride with mom and Tequilla. It was lots of fun as always, but hot and buggy... again. We got home and mom updated my page. She said she still needs to take summer photos for me and Gizmo for our pages, but at least she got the rest of them on. She will do the video next week if she gets a chance. Oh yeah, the one photo she put was when I went tubing over the weekend with her and Megan. It's hard to see me, but I'm on my mom's left. She said she will try to zoom in closer so you can see me better. But the real excitment came when we watched America's Got Talent. That is our favorite summer show. I even watch it and like some of the stuff, especially the doggies:) But last night, was exceptionally good with a lot of good talent.

The first act were three cowboys. I knew they were cowboys because they wore their hats like mom and dad do sometime. Mom really liked them. She said they were good and cute too:) She was cheering when they were done and that got me even more excited. Next good act was this group of guys who did incredible flips while dunking basketballs. My eyes were glued to the TV as they soared through the air and of course, I wanted those basketballs! Then there was this little girl who sang and played the keyboard. She wasn't that good of a singer, but really funny and she made me want to jump into the screen and play with her. She was full of energy:D Next was probably mom's favorite act. It was this little old lady that told jokes. Well, let me tell you, mom laughed so hard that she was crying and I was crying right along with her. I kept licking her in the face to tell her I liked it too. This lady was really hilarious and if she doesn't make it on this show, she really needs to go to Last Comic Standing that we watch sometime. She would definitely win that show. The last good act was another opera singer. I usually don't like these singers because they hit notes that hurt my ears, but this lady was magnificant. Mom said it's too bad that she probably won't win though since they had an opera singer win last year. This is a really good show and even though there are a lot of bad acts out there, there are some really good ones to and it's worth watching. If you want to check it out, it's on NBC Tuesday & Wednesday nights at 9pm EST. You really should check it out. There's something out there for everyone. Well, dad is off work today and should soon be getting out of bed so I'll have to see what we'll be doing today. Hopefully swimming because I haven't done that since the weekend:)

Scaredy kitty

Last night mom had a riding lesson so we went to the barn. Mom was in the office for a little bit so I was hanging with the kittens. Most of them are really friendly and like to climb all over me and play, but one of them (mom calls him Lynxy) growls, hisses and arches his back at me. He actually scares me a little he's acts so mean. He's such a scaredy kitty that no matter how much mom or other people hold him, he still acts like that. Mom would love to take him home, but dad says NO WAY! Dad only allows one cat in the house at a time and I'm kinda glad because that would mean less attention for me. Anyway, after spending some time with the kitties I went with mom while she gave her lesson. I just followed her and Tequilla around. It was pretty hot so I was glad we didn't go for a trail ride after the lesson. When we got home we just chilled. Mom and dad were on the computer for a little and mom was making her "Wish List" from some places called Coach and Tiffany's. Mom said there was something I just had to have from Coach. I have no idea what "Coach" is, but you can bet if mom thinks I should have it, I will. She spoils me like rotten and I love every minute of it:D After that, I cuddled with mom on the sofa and watched our favorite show "America's Got Talent". No doggies last night:( Oh well, maybe tonight. Mom said depending on how her back feels we might go for a trail ride tonight after her chiro appt... YEE HAW!

Speedy on the dogwalk

Last night I had agility. It was lots of fun as always. We practiced doing sequences without mom talking to me the entire time. I did good except I missed the tunnel the first time:( But mom was really happy because I flew through the tire jump with no problem. We also had to work on that teeter... grrrrrrr! I did it, but wasn't happy about it. The first couple of times I did my usual and jumped off before it tipped, but with mom's encouragement, I finally took it passed the tipping point. She told me not to worry that I'll eventually get it. We got to do the dogwalk at full height last night. I love the dogwalk! Mom put me at one end then went to the other and gave me the signal to go. I flew across the dogwalk so fast that mom called me "Speedy" on the dogwalk. I actually went so fast that I almost fell off...yikes! Mom said I'm real good at that piece of equipment. The one thing mom has to work with me on is my sit. I'll sit, no problem, but after a couple of minutes I lay down even when she wants me to sit. Hey, what can I say, I'm taking a break:) But mom isn't happy about that so she said we'll be working on that everyday until I understand. I better get with the program so I'm ready for the next class. Mom said we'll miss next week because she has to get her hair colored, but promised that we'll work on some things at home so I don't forget what to do. Not sure what's in store for tonight, but I'll be sure to let you all know. Mom didn't have time to put my pix from the weekend on and said she might not have time until after this weekend. But keep an eye out because she will eventually get them up. She still has to put up the flyball video too.

Fishing and Pow wow and tubing oh my!

I hope everyone had a good 4th of July, I sure did! First, I want to thank my pup pal Wesley's mom for the wonderful summer page! She sure does know what I love the most... horses! It's a pawsome page, thanks Wesley's mom:)

Now, about my weekend. We left later on Thursday than expected because mom didn't off as early as she hoped. It was Megan, mom, dad and I that went. We had to take two vehicles because dad was taking some trailer with a lot of stuff to work at the property. I rode in mom's car with her and Megan. The traffic was horrible and I slept most of the way. When we got there, mom and Megan got things unpacked and set up in the cabin then we went to get food at High Knob Inn. That was all for the night since it was late that we got there.

Friday morning, dad left early to go work at the property. When mom and Megan got up, we went fishing after breakfast. We didn't catch anything though:( The water was really high and moving fast from all the rain and mom wouldn't even let me swim, which I wasn't happy about. But I do understand that mom just didn't want me to drown or anything and it was moving fast. After a little fishing, mom cut the grass. After that, we went for ice cream and I even got my doggie dish:) Then we rode to the property to see how dad was making out. It rained really hard at the property a few times and it made it hard for dad to work. He was there with our neighbor Kip. Mom wouldn't let me out though because it was REALLY muddy. We didn't stay long, but went over to Kip and Linda's place to see Linda. Dillon (their spaniel that I told you about a while back- and I think mom took a picture of him to add to my page) was out running around and when we got there, mom let me go play. We had so much fun!!! We ran and chase each other and because it had rained so much, there were big puddles of water in the grass and we would run through them, splashing the water high. I was soaked, but loved it. One time, we ran right at each other and I guess we both were thinking the same thing, to jump over the other, and so we both jumped and collided in mid air and tumbled to the ground. It knocked the wind out of me, but I was okay and we both got up and continued playing. Dillon did do that "bad thing" again, but his mom stopped him. We finally both got tired and laid down by our moms while they talked. A little while later, dad and Kip came back from working. Boy were they dirty! We stayed a little longer then headed home. I was really tired so I was happy to sit outside with mom and Megan while mom cooked on the grill. Dad came home a while later and we had dinner. Mom even gave me a little chicken... yummy:)' We did go spotting that night, but there weren't many deer. Mom said it was because of all the firecrackers people were setting off and maybe because of the full moon. She said they'll probably come out later in the night.

Saturday we were woken up by one of dad's friends that stopped by. They had a little dog with them, I don't remember his name. He was cute, but a little to excitable for me that early in the morning. He even tried to pee on the sofa... bad dog! After they left and we had breakfast, we went to this thing mom called a pow wow. It was pretty interesting actually. There were all these tent like things with all kinds of different stuff that I've never seen before. They had animal furs hanging (poor things) and these other things that mom called dreamcatchers. She even bought one that had the animal fur on it. I wasn't too happy about that, but mom said it was the native american's culture and that selling these and pelts was part of how they made their living. A lot different then buying a fur coat she tried to explain. I don't know anything about that so anyway, there were a lot of dogs there too. I met one really cute little dog named Bandit. I think mom has a picture of me with him. There were other dogs there too and one that I even thought was Tanner C and I got excited until I scented him and realized it wasn't my Tanner:( Oh yeah, there ws this HUGE rottweiler and mom said that I'll have a rot as my friend when we moved to the property in six years. Yikes! I don't know if I'll like that much because he looked really mean!!! And there was another dog that looked like a white wolf. He was really cool, but gave me the heebie jeebies because he was crouched really low and stared at me like he was going to eat me when I walked by. I think mom took a picture of him. Finally, we sat for a while and watched them dance. It was very interesting. The only thing though, they constantly were beating on drums and after a while, it started to get to me. It was non-stop. Mom said that is just the way of their culture. I say, give me earplugs! It was neat to see something different though. All the time I was there though, everyone that walked by had to pet me and told mom how beautiful and well behaved I was. What can I say, I try:)

We left the pow wow thing then went home for lunch. Shortly after mom got the tubes ready and I knew what that meant... tubing time!! Last time I didn't listen too good and mom didn't let me go, but I promised that this time I would be good. Well, that paid off because I got to go along. Mom and Megan each had a tube and I was swimming for awhile, but the mountain water was really cold so I got up on the tube with mom. It was lots of fun. We drifted down the Loyalsock as mom called it. We saw other people and dogs swimming and I don't know how they could stand it because it was cold! I love to swim and I have lots of hair, but it was not only cold water, but the air was cold too. Anyway, we drifting threw a few rapids which made me a little nervous at first, but then I thought they were fun:D Dad took some pictures, that I think mom will put on so you can see me having fun tubing. We got out at my favorite play spot by the "dragon". I was ready to play, but Megan wanted to go again. I'm glad mom decided to let me at the cabin though, even though I wanted to play, because I was cold. Mom said I was shivering and that's why I couldn't go. I napped while her and Megan took one more trip. Later that night we cooked on the grill again and I played with Megan. After dinner, I had to stay in the cabin because dad set off some firecrackers for Megan. I was quite okay with that. Even though I'm not really afraid of the firecrackers, I don't like the loud noise they make. I slept like a rock that night.

The next morning was time to leave. I knew this because mom was in "packing up" mode. When she's like this, I just stay out of her way. We got home later in the afternoon and mom hurt her back unpacking so we didn't do much. Megan was still there so I swam with her a bit, but honestly, I just wanted to chill on my ottoman. As much as I like going away, I love coming home even more. I had a great weekend and mom said I have another exciting one coming up, but wouldn't tell me more.

Now I'm just going to sleep most of the day and play catch up because I have agility class tonight. I hope everyone had as much fun this weekend as I did. I'll bark at you all later:)

Scary...

Last night I went with mom to the grocery store. I hung out in the car until she was finished then I helped her unload them at the house... well kind of. I stood by the door and waited for her. If I had hands, I would have opened it for her. After she was finished we went for a walk, or should I say, started out for a walk. We were at the end of the block when "crash!" Loud thunder rumbled through the air. Mom turned around and saw that the sky was as black as night and ligthening flashed. She told me we had to get back to the house fast and started running back up the hill. At first I thought it was a game until it flashed and crashed again, then I knew it was serious. We ran as fast as we could and the lightening kept coming more and more and the thunder kept getting louder and louder. We finally reached the driveway, but I was pretty far ahead of mom and made it to the top before her. By this time, the rain was just starting to come down. They were big raindrops that stung when they hit you. Mom hit the garage door opener so I could get inside and I barked at her, telling her to please hurry!! Mom stepped inside the garage and the skies opened up. It rained so hard that you could barely see the house across the street. It was really scary the way the lightening was bouncing around and the thunder was deafening. At least we made it back without getting soaked. Mom said next time she'll be sure to look both ways in the sky so we don't get caught like that again. After that, my night just seemed pale in comparison. Mom did pack stuff for the mountains and then we watched America's Got Talent. Another cool dog made it to Vegas. It was a little dog named Diva that danced with her mom. She was cute. Now I'm just chilling until mom gets home from work so we can leave for the cabin. I won't be home until Sunday so you probably won't hear about my trip until Monday. Everyone have a pawsome holiday and be careful!

Nothing exciting going on

Last night, nothing exciting was going on. Mom came home from work early and didn't feel well. Said that migraine thing really drained her. She took a little nap then had to go to the eye dr. After she came back home, we just chilled on the sofa watching TV. Mom dozed off and on, but I think she needed that. She promised me that I would have a fun 4th of July weekend and that we were going to the mountains and Megan was going with us. That made me really happy! I love the mountains and I love Megan! I'm sure mom will be crazy busy tonight getting things ready since we're leaving tomorrow when she gets off of work. Since I'll be gone, I probably won't have any posts until next week (there's no computers at the mountains). I wish everyone a Happy 4th of July! Be safe!

Trip to the vet

Last night was a scary night, well, at least part of it was anyway. Mom took me to the vet. I have this small bump on my back that keeps getting bigger so mom wanted to get it checked out. She ook a picture of me waiting in the room and you can tell that I heard the vet coming:( Fortunately, it's nothing serious, just a nasty ole cyst from a clogged folicle or something like that. The doctor was nice, even though I tried to crawl under the bench to get away from him. Hey, he's a guy so what do you expect? Anyway, he used a needle to drain it and it was yucky! It didn't really hurt, but it had this yucky puss and blood coming out of it, but I must admit, it felt much better after he did it:) After the visit to the vet, I had agility class. It's was my first class with the new instructor Coleen. She's really nice. We have all the same doggies as the previous classes because we keep progressing together which is nice. Sadie was even nice to me last night:) Anyway, Coleen realy made me practice the teeter since I am still afraid of it. It's the banging that it makes when I tip it that scares me, but I'm starting to get use to it. We also did some jumps, tunnel and table work. Both mom and Coleen said I did really good. I had lots of fun:D It was late til we got home since this class doesn't start until 8pm. I just jumped in bed with mom and watched a little TV til it was time for sleep. I slept really well until mom woke up with another one of her migraine things. Poor mom, she never did fall back to sleep. I sure hope she's okay today. I'm not sure what's on the agenda for tonight, but right now I'm getting ready to sleep with daddy since he's on night shift and sleeps during the day. It's nice having someone home with me all day even if they're sleeping:)
