We lost the barn:(

First and foremost, thanks to everyone for their concern and well wishes regarding the horses and the barn I know everyone has been sending to Echo and I know will send to me once mom posts. It is sad that everything was lost, but the horses were okay and that's the most important thing.

Okay, now about what I've been up to. Last Wednesday we went to the mountains on July 4th after mom and dad got done at an auction. Mom and dad were both tired so we didn't do anything that night. Thursday morning it wasn't too hot yet so we sat on the porch with mom. I have a tendency to pace around and mom doesn't like that. Don't know why I do it, but I do. I finally did lay down though and tried to relax and enjoy the beautiful morning. Dad came out and joined us a little bit later and that's when the excitement started. When mom went to go back in the cabin to get more coffee, the door was locked... we were locked out!! Of course mom blamed dad and dad blamed mom, but the fact was we were locked out and it was getting hot! Us dogs went with mom up to Clair's for the extra key, but they weren't home:( Mom then walked to Randy's to get a key, but she didn't take me, she took Echo. Can you believe it!?!? I was NOT happy about that. But mom said she wanted a little protection and she knows I'm afraid of just about everything and she's right. I may bark and act like I'll tear someone apart, but when it comes down to it, I'm just a big fraidy cat. Plus, mom said it was too hot and there's no way I would make it. She was right about that too cause by the time they got back, I was panting and really feeling the heat. Fortunately, shortly after mom got back (without a key might I add cause no one was home at Randy's) Clair finally came home and let us in. I was sooo happy to be in the AC! So happy that I only left it the rest of the day to go potty. You wouldn't believe how hot the entire weekend was! It was horrible!

Friday Echo was sick so we had to take a ride to get her meds. Mom made me sit in the back which I wasn't too happy about, but that's because she needed to have Echo up front with her so she could hold the puke pan for Echo. I will say one thing, my sis may be a sick little thing with her pancrenatis, but boy can she hit the puke pan! When we got back, we pretty much just hung out in the cabin. I really wanted to go swimmy, but mom said there wasn't much water in the creek so she didn't want us in the low water that wasn't moving much, plus Echo was sick and couldn't go anyway and it wouldn't be fair. Fair? Fair? Come on, what about me? I'm not sick so I should have been able to go swimming! I was NOT happy about that at all, but I guess I wouldn't want mom to let Echo go swimming without me if I was sick either so I kind of understand.

Saturday was more of the same, hot and doing nothing. We did take a little ride just to get out, but other than that, we just hung out inside. Randy and Sharon did come for a little visit in the evening and that was nice to have the company.

Sunday we finally got to do something. Mom and dad cut grass and we had to stay inside cause it was hot. Echo was driving me crazy cause she kept barking, wanting out and running from window to window watching mom and dad. Sisters! Anyway, later in the evening when it cooled off, we got to go for a Kubota ride. Mom made us ride in the back going up though cause it was still pretty hot (but not as hot as in the day). It was lots of fun to get out and do something. we got to run around in the woods and back down the mountain when we came back. But I will admit, from laying around in the AC most of our time there, I was pooped out by the time we got done with our Kubota ride and was happy to just chill for the rest of the night.

Monday we headed home. We didn't do anything when we got back cause mom went to see the barn and horses. She said it was really sad to see everything gone:'( She also told us no doggies are allowed at the barn the horses are at now... that is one stupid rule!! What is it with peopel not allowing dogs at their barns? Mom said it's cause probably at one time someone had their dog there and didn't make them listen and it caused problems so it ruined it for all of us. That is usually the case anytime dogs aren't allowed. Those owners really need to be responsible so it doesn't ruin it for me! Okay, sorry, I'm done with my temper tantrum now.

Tuesday we did get to go swimmy when mom got home. It felt really good cause it was so hot out. We swam for about an hour and then mom made us go in. I didn't mind though cause I was getting tired and just ran around the deck anyway after the first 20 minutes of swimming. Last night it was raining so we didn't do anything. Just hung out in the house and watched TV with mom and dad once they got back from whatever they did last night.

So, that's what I've been up to. BTW, we won't be going dock diving this weekend as planned. Mom will be helping with barn clean up and going to see the horses everyday since they're in a strange place and don't get much turnout. I'm sad, but can understand that. She promised we would get to go swimmy lots though:)

OMG! A barn fire! That is scary! The barn is where I spend most of my time. Did you lose any of your tack or do you keep that at home? We will watch your diary postings for the cause of the fire.
Hope Echo doesn't have any more 'spells' sure don't like to hear about her being sick.

Thank you all for your well wishes regarding our barn. Unfortunately, everything was lost. But mom said the most important thing survived... the horses:)
