Yesterday, the best dog you could ever ask for crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We fostered Shadow and within two days knew we would adopt him. Even at 9 years old he was a play machine. I couldn't even have him around when cleaning up the yard since he would fetch whatever I threw into the woods. His previous owner claimed he was moving and couldn't take Shadow with him. We soon found out the real reason he was turned into rescue, he had a Perineal hernia that required surgery. After the surgery he did fine. At 15 years old he still played a lot, but slowing down. At almost 17, he slowed down a lot over the past year and was unable to play at all except for games where he just laid on the floor. Although we bought whatever prescriptions the Vet recommended to help with his pain, it was taking a toll on him. Recently the Perineal hernia returned, his teeth or gums hurt so it took him a long time to eat and his hind legs keep giving out. The wife couldn't stand to see him in pain any longer. The only dog I've had with no faults at all and who's only desire was to be with us and play all day. I will miss Shadow more than you can imagine. RIP buddy boy until we meet again.

My Dad doesn't have time to add fosters to dogster anymore so he wants me to pass along our foster Sunny just went to his forever home on Sat. Sunny's Mom passed away and her family was unable to take care of him. He has some health issues due to being very overweight, but otherwise he's in good shape. He is also a certified therapy dog. Good luck Sunny!

15 years young. Shadow is slowing down but still gets around very well. He does still have issues related to his hernia and we took him to the ER on Saturday because he wasn't able to poop. But he's doing good now. Thanks for the birthday gifts!
