I can't wait to make new friends like my mom does!

Helping mom.

I went with mom in the Jeep yesterday to give her company while she put up flyers for her human stuff. She kept the windows off so I could hang out the window and sniff all the smells. I saw a dog at the store and wanted to play but mom said no. Anyways, I had fun but it's still too hot to go run in the desert. I've noticed the mornings are getting a bit cooler. For a Cattle Dog, I do not care for the heat very much at all! This winter will be fun cause I know I'll be going out with mom and Boomer every morning to run and chase Jack Rabbits, plus I'll get to go on Jeep rides and see my snowbird doggie friends!
Woof, gotta go bark at something outside!

Just like Mom!

I've always been a little envious of my mom having online friends but now I get to have my own. I wonder who my first friend will be? I hope I eventually meet some new friends close to my home so I can go meet them in person. I'd love to meet other herding breeds that have access to livestock so I could run around with them.
I loved the time I met the horses who where in a pipe corral. I was not scared of them and thanks to my good breeding had no urge to chase or bite them.
The time I saw the sheep from mom's Jeep was different. I don't know what I would do when faced with a herd of sheep and free to smell them and run and do whatever my instincts told me to do. I think mom is too cautious with me around livestock. I guess it's because she is more worried about being responsible than letting me do whatever I want.
I remember now, when I saw the guy riding his horse with his Heeler dog, I was not aggressive or too rude but I did bark and I didn't want to listen to mom's calls for awhile. I know she was too shy to come with me to meet the man on the horse and his dog. Maybe if we ran into a woman on a horse out in the desert it would be different. I know me and mom are not as shy around women. We both can be a little frightened of strange men when we're alone.
Whew! That's enough for now! I'll sit back on my haunches and see if anyone wants to be friends!
