What a crazy day it's been! My mommy is so sad and she keep hugging me and giving me treats. Mom knew that I was rescued from a puppy mill, but she never thought she would talk to my rescuer or that my story was so terribly sad. Any way to start at the beginging;
Today mom sent some nice picfurs of me to my foster momma Marylou.
We just love her and we sent a nice email about me and the pics. So then mommy started looking at Marylou's rescue group's site "rawhide rescue". Rawhide rescue are some great foster pawrents who take care of pups who need help. Now they don't go get pups out of mills but they work with groups who do. On the site mom saw a link to "no more tears' rescue so she clicked and went to explore and guess what! She saw a picture of me on their site. She was so excited and sent them an email. She told them all about my life, how much I love to run and play,my favorite foods, my hatred of squirrels, how sweet I am, how cute, etc. Then she sent some nice pictures of me and my brother Devon. Mom didn't expect to hear back but she recieved this email the next day.
Hi Cheryl, (that's my mommy's name)
Thank you for loving Daisy so. She was a special rescue to me because I remember precisely what had happened. I had visited the farm to pick up some older dogs that the miller was giving me. The miller then asked me if I wanted to buy a young dog from him who wouldn't breed any longer. I told him I don't buy dogs no matter how young they are. He says well we have this bischon that lives in here and he pointed to a wooden box outside. I bent down to look inside the box and there was this scared to death little white poofy thing. He grabbed her out from the back and handed her to me. She clung on to my arm for dear life and was trembling so much. Her little heart was beating so fast, I can feel it. I looked in her eyes and she looked into mine. It was like she was begging me to save her from being put back into that horrific dark box. I told the man I will give you $50 for this dog. He agreed and we took her back with us. I am so happy I saved her even if
I had to give the man 50$. Look how happy she is now and she would of died in that box all alone. Rawhide Rescue discovered she had things wrong with her such as a huge bladder stone, in which untreated would of remained very painful for her. They would of never treated her by a vet. So thank you again so much for letting me know how well she is doing.
Laura
Oh my DOG! Mommy just couldn't belive it! After she read this email she cried and cried. She can't understand how anyone could be so cruel. Why would someone would put a dog in a dark box and leave her there? Now she is so so sad for me, and for other pups still stuck in the mills.
But she is also amazed at how brave I am and how spunky!
Imagine how brave of me to refuse to breed and to survive in a box all alone. She is so grateful to Laura for saving me! To tell you the truth I am grateful too! Thanks to Laura those sad days are over and will never come back. All over the US good people are refusing to allow dogs to be abused, saving mill and shelter dogs and refusing to breed or buy. Me and mommy think my story shows the best and the worst of people. Imagine the horror and the evil that happened when greed took this millers soul. But contrast that with the kindness and the generosity of Laura, who is still out there fighting to set all the mill dogs free.
Now pups will you do me a favor? Please say a prayer for Laura and all the other rescuers. Let them be safe as they do their angels work. Bless them all every day, all imprisoned mill dogs and all the rescuers and the foster parents. Bless you too!
Love Daisy
