The Dog Chapel in Vermont

Mom recently discovered The Dog Chapel in Vermont while reading a magazine. It's really a very interesting place to visit! Mom says you can send your pet's pic & a letter about your dog (if they have passed away) to the Chapel & they will post it on the wall for you! What a wonderful tribute to any beloved pup!!!! Talk real soon.Hopefully won't be gone so long next time!!

Hello everyone! Yes, I'm still here!!!

It's been awhile since mom has been on Dogster. We have missed everyone very much.Mom can no longer work, so I guess you can say she's retired!! Yay me!!! Mom & I are spending lots of time together. I'm loving it alot!!! I'm the same goofy girl I always have been. Just a bit older. Still go or walks, still play blankee head with my dad, still run to greet the mail lady for cookies!!! In the last year new neighbors have moved in next door. Much to mom's delight, they are big dog people!! They have adopted a boxer who is now a year old. His name is Rocky. He's brown brindle. They have also adopted a pit bull. (my boyfriend & mom's favorite!) He is black brindle & his name is Diesel. Mom babysits them when needed. Boy does she have a good time!!! My parents are gearing up for their move to Florida. A year from December wewill move there. I personally like the snow. Not sure how I'm gonna like it, but there's always air conditioning!! Happy New Year Everyone!

I just wanted everyone to know that I am thinking of them on this New Years Eve! I am with my dog sitter Megan (who I just love!) while Mom & Dad are in Florida with my human sister. Mom & Dad miss me VERY much & think of me EVERY day!!! You ask how I know that? Mom has called here EVERY day to say so! Megan just thinks Mom questions her ability to watch me, love me, & entertain me! But we all know Megan does a SUPERB job or I wouldn't be here in the first place! She just calls to hear me bark or to get an update on all my activites for the day! I'm VERY SPECIAL! What can I say??!! Walking the neighborhood

For the last 6 weeks or so, Mom & Dad have been walking me around our neighborhood (3 or 4 long laps) right after dinner! I've met lots of new friends along the way. First there is "the dust bowl gang". They live on the corner & when you walk past their house, all 3 of them run along the fence! Stirring up all kinds of dust! Two of them are a lab mix & the other one is kinda small & has a tendency to get run over by the other two! They run down along the fence so fast, that by the time he catches up, they are now going the other way & they trip on him! But never fear, every once in a while, he'll just grab one of them by the leg & slow them down & then he's in the lead! Then down around the corner there is a beagle mix named Joey. He's adorable & kinda old, so one go around is all he can muster! Then there is a beagle & a black lab that say hi rather loudly when we walk by from their picture window. Next there is Heather a beautiful & slightly over weight beagle with her brother Scrappy Doo (a pomeranian mix) that is terribly shy but darling. They walk with us most nights.Last but certainly not least their is Sally. A German Shepherd one year old that is really, really shy (and they have had her since she was a baby). My Dad holds my leash while we walk & mom goes across the street when we see Sally coming & lets Sally walk up to her. Sally has gone from being really learly of mom to chomping at the bit to get to mom to give her the biggest wetest kisses you've ever seen! (mom's very proud of that!). Oh brother!

I told Mom & Dad that my Dogster page could use some new pictures. Boy should have kept my mouth shut! That started a whole big thing about "I guess it's probably BATH-TIME for her anyway!" It's not exactly what I had in mind at all! Talk about embarassing! I had to get a whole BATH just to get new pictures!!! Oh brother! Next time I'll just be quiet! Oh, who am I kidding?? No I won't & I'll end up in this same perdicament again! It's just me!

Boy am I sneaky!!!

So this is what I did for entertainment today!!!! Poor Mom!! You see, my mom has this really big neck brace on for 8 weeks so she can't move her neck at all! She also doesn't have the ability to look down! (the brace won't let her). So just for fun at dinnertime Mom, Dad & I had baked chicken& fresh green beans. Mom was taking little bites off her green beans & sneakin' them to me one at a time so Dad couldn't see. When she was done with dinner, she got up to go put her plate in the sink & promptly stepped into a rather large pile of green bean pieces!!!!!! You see, I'd take them from her like I really wanted them when she wasn't lookin' set them on the floor in front of her & since she can't see down in front of her,they hid really well!!!!! Hello my wonderful furry friends!!!!

It's me Abbey & boy am I in trouble! My human sister just called my mom & reminded herof how long it's been since my last entry!!!! Oops! Not to mention that it says I wouldn't take too long to get to this one!! Well alot has gone on since my last entry. I'm still the same beautiful darling I was before, just alittle older & alot wiser! Mom & Dad have been to my human sisters house in Florida twice since January. My other human sister had her puppy (mom calls her a grandbaby), Mom & Dad have bought property in Florida not too far from my sister about an hour north of Tampa (Spring Hill). I've seen alot of my pup sitter Megan. We have had a great time! Megan has invited me to stay at her new apartment for this Christmas since Mom & Dad are going to Florida for the holiday. Mom said that should be interesting since I've never stayed overnite anywhere but here! I guess we will see! Mom got the bright idea of clipping my hair short to keep me cool & dad says I didn't even look like a dog! Well then!!! I'd really like to know what it was I looked like! Good grief dad! I guess mom won't do that again! Oh, yes , I've learned what to do if I get bored when mom & dad are home........ I make my rounds around the house & look busy & ever so slowly stroll into the bathroom & quietly close the door! I am wiser these days cause even tho I am very smooth about this whole operation, I always wait until there is a lull on the sound of the T.V. & I can be assured that someone will here the door close!!!!!! Just like I planned, Dad comes running to let me out!!! Hee! Hee! Hee! Works every time! Well pups, it's getting late & I've been told we are going to bed soon, so I'll write another day! It's been awhile!

Hello everyone! It's me Abbey! What a long couple of months it's been! My human sister got married in Hawaii last Feb, my other human sister is now expecting my mom's first grandbaby this April. (whatever a grandbaby is!) Whatever it is, mom's really excited about it! Now, they have decided that it's a girl just like me! Mom says I really can't play with her till a long time after she gets here & gets bigger! Pooh! Mom gave me my very first haircut last week & boy do I feel great! you thought I was beautiful before, just wait till you see me now! Mom says my fur feels like velvet! (she says that's a good thing!) Mom is leaving tomorrow to go see my human sister (Maggie Mae's mom) in Florida! She going for two weeks! I'm happy for Mom & Maggie, but sad for me & Dad! My pup sitter Megan is coming over twice during the day with me till Dad gets home from work! That's a plus! Mom says it will be good bonding time for Dad & me! Where DID that come from???

O.K., so I'm out back with Mom & Dad watering the flowers & went running through the yard.......between Mom & the hose. I started going through & water hit me in the head!!! Where did that come from???? So, I backed up & thought for a minute (with my wet head) & thought I'd try again. I started to RUN through it this time thinking I'll just be faster than the water & stay dry! Do you believe it???? I got wet all over again!!!!!! Where is this water coming from??? So I backed up again only slightly embarrassed. All I want to do is go up the steps onto the deck & that stupid water attacks me EVERY TIME!!!! So, one last time, I SLOWLY step forward between mom & the flowers......can you guessed what happened???? Being the princess that I am, I took my REALLY WET HEAD to the OTHER side of the yard & just layed in the grass as if that's what I meant to do anyway!!!! Mom told me to bring my wet head self inside when she was done & ler her fix it! So now instead of looking like I'm from the fifties (whatever that is!), I'm dry & look like my BEAUTIFUL self!!! I think I'll go take a nap!!!!!!

Who says there is no such thing as Dog Nip???????

Guess what?? My mom found the dog equivalent of Cat nip!!!!!!! Boy was I excited! She opened a can of almonds the other day & all it took was one whiff! I got all up in Mom's face & sniffed like I never sniffed before! Every time she got one out of the can, I'd follow it all the way up to her mouth! Since she wouldn't give me one, I just sat REAL close to her & drooled like Niagra Falls! By the way, I was close enough to drench Mom! So now, she will only eat them when I go outside!
