Pet-Peeves: People trying to touch him, hates kitties, fireworks, very loud noises, thunder, being told no, people trying to talk to his mommy when we are in the car for a ride!
Favorite Toy: Any of the tons of stuffed toys he has in his 3 toy totes, and oh, tennis balls!!
Favorite Food: Binx is food allergy free right now and loves Castor and Pollux Organix dog food and Wet Noses dog treats. Basically anything healthy mommy will let him have a taste of! Binx's FAVORITE doggy ice cream is Dogsters, he goes crazy for it!
Favorite Walk: Wherever his Mommy goes Binx is sure to be and I do mean anywhere!
Best Tricks: Sit, stay, down all the way, shake one paw then the other, wave, high five, up all the way, catch popcorn in his mouth, etc!!!
Arrival Story: When he was first able to leave his mommy is upstate NY where we are from I first met my Binx and it was a bond right away! The breeder had cats and they let the cats eat all the fur off the puppies tails and he was so thrilled to come home with me!! :)
Bio: Binx was a dog that had some of the tainted foods when all of that happened. He got very sick. We believe that since he is larger than Shelties are supposed to be that helped him. We found out in time before he ate to much of the bad foods. Thankfully, he has no permanent damage from that horrible time!
Forums Motto: Happy Summer, let's jump in the pool!
Although we have not been on much in a bit, we are so sad to hear that Dogster is closing the pages soon. We have made many friends here and have loved seeing photos, diaries, pages, and everything from all of you.
You were here for me when I was learning how to be a service dog, becoming an official service dog after I learned so much, saw me through some terrible health issues with constant ear stuff, allergies, and this stoooopid cancer. I keep hoping that Dogster will change their minds about closing.
For my health update, I am still officially in remission after my two month checkup on Friday. We take it one day at a time and keep faith that I will stay in remission for a long time.
If anyone wants to keep seeing how I am doing I do have my very own Facebook page that is current and I invite you to stop by if you are on there:
And dear Dogster, won't you be able to find a way to let us stay on here......
Thank you all for always being here for us, we will miss you. :-(
Today mom and I took the day off work and after 5 months and 20 days with 17 chemo treatments of 5 different chemo meds, I had my very last one today!! The Dogtor said that he was very happy with how good I've done through this whole treatment and now I have to get a blood test every 4 weeks to make sure I am still in clinical remission. He said that lots of doggies go out of remission and have to have a second treatment (not the same one that I just had, though) and many doggies stay in remission longer after. But I'm hoping that since I was in remission so early on that I will stay that way for a long time!!!
I am feeling a little yucky tonight and trying to get a good comfy spot in the living room, but haven't found one to stay in long. I think I will poke my nose at mom so she will go in where the comfy pillows are in our room for the night, even though it's not even 7 pm.
Happy Thanksgiving today! Mom said that when I got sick six months ago she was sure that I would not be here for the holidays when I first was diagnosed. But after so much help from SO many I got to have all my treatments and am here and doing really great today. I just found out that my last chemo will be a week early, too!!! It's December 6th and all done, hopefully for a long time! I will be all recovered just in time for Christmas!
Mom and I were talking today, ok, she was talking and I was listening and agreeing anyway. We have so very much to be thankful for this year. We graduated college, got a good job working with people that care about us a whole lot, have lots of people in our lives in person and online who care very much about us, the family is all healthy and good, and I get to still be my mom's partner and doing really well.
Now, we are not having the big turkey dinner today, though. We are having it on Saturday when the family comes over since they have to work. Mom has been doing some Christmas decorating, she got that big tree that goes in a box out and put it in front of the window.
Oh, and a special SHOUT OUT to Dogster for picking me as one of the Diary of the Days this week, ARRROOOOOO!!!!!! Thank you :-)
Ok, off to do a little snoopervising and see if mom needs any help with the tree in the box stuff. Have a pawsome day everyone!
