Leave a bone for Alizé (1999-2012)

Quick Bio:
-purebred-pound dog-blind

Birthday:
November 10th 1999

Arrival Story:
Alizé has been with me so long that I adopted her! =/= set your browser's "character encoding" to UTF-8 to see her name spelled right! =/= Animal Control found Alizé as a stray, northeast of Denver. She has a microchip, so they got her name and her owners' names, but the shelter said that the phone numbers for her owners were disconnected. (UPDATE) I'm still on their trail! I found the clinic where they took Alizé and the rest of her pack when they were younger. But the family hasn't been to that particular clinic in 6 years. I'm down to trying similar names out of the phonebook. (UPDATE) Looking for any previous owners didn't pan out. I sure wanted to think that someone was looking for her!

Bio:
=/= set your browser's "character encoding" to UTF-8 to see her name spelled right! =/= Alizé's coat is very dirty! The Animal Control officer that brought her to the shelter said it looked like Alizé had been a stray for quite a while. Maybe the coat was the reason for saying that. It's like a paint brush that the paint has been left in and dried up! ... Her ears look like they might be fly-bitten too. Poor girl! ==> More pictures when she's had a bath! (UPDATE) Alizé has diabetes. Not getting treatment probably caused her blindness. My vet has her staying at the clinic so she can get fluids and medicine around the clock until the diabetes is back under control. But she's improving! (UPDATE) Alizé is back from the clinic, and she's sure happy about that! She was lonely in their back room and was doing a Siberian Husky whining cry an awful lot as she felt better. She's not completely blind, but she can't see much more than big shapes. But she mastered the steps awfully fast! And she definitely can figure out which side of the front door to try to scoot out when I open it!
