Saturday was fun!!

I know I don't write many diaries anymore. I'm a pup of few words. But I had to tell you about Saturday.
My MOM took me to the St. Louis Pet EXPO.
OH MY DOG - it was so much fun!
We got FREE stuff.
I got to sniff millions of butts.
I met millions of dogs.
I got petted by millions of people and most let me give them a quick lick on the face! (that's how I roll, just the quick tongue tip kiss ya know)
I couldn't hardly believe it - I'd walk up to a table and they would give me a treat! And mom said OK!! I got to eat them ALL!!
Most said - oh it's organic 100% natural and all that... But I was like so? Give me the TREATSES!! FEED ME I'm STARVIN!!
Three people asked my mom if I was up for adoption.... for a minute I got scared cause I have never been anywhere like this heaven, was I up for adoption??? Then I heard mom laugh and say NO WAY JOSEE!!
PHEW!
Anyway - I got to see that guy Shorty from Pit Boss but we never made it to the table to get a picture with him and the Hercules dog. Timed that wrong..
But Man was it fun..
I would highly recommend going to one of these if you get the chance!!

Intruder Averted!!

Oh yeah, I scored.
I got the intruder in the yard last night.
I gots me a Opossum!!
It wasn't a big one - but I still got it and left it right in front
of the patio for MOM to find today.
It SMELLS Wonderful after laying outside all day in the
heat while mom slept.

Jia seriously thought about rolling in it but mom stopped her...::o

Hi all,

We at HQ just wanted to give you a quick heads-up: both Dogster and Catster will undergo a period of downtime towards the end of next week — we are not sure of the exact date right now, but we are targeting Friday afternoon, August 5, from 3 p.m. onwards. As soon as we know the exact, confirmed schedule we will post an update here, so please do check back!

The sites will be down for around six hours as we move to a much more modern serving environment. Please note that we are not making *any* changes to the sites, we are just upgrading our hardware and Internet collocation.

We know that many of you have pawties/weddings and other pawsome events in your groups/forums on the weekends and don’t want to be party poopers, but we strongly recommend that any Dogster/Catster events scheduled between August 5 and 7 be rescheduled as we work out any kinks from the server move that weekend.

Should you be on the site the weekend of August 5th and see any glaring issues, please drop us a note in the Dogster and Catster Server Upgrade Group, which we created for feedback after the server switch. We will be working hard to address any bugs you run into during this time.

P.S. If you have any current issues with the site, please e-mail support@dogster.com as usual, this group is not for anything but post-server upgrade problems.

Moley Moley Moley!!

I caught a mole today
nah nah nah nah nah nah

Nothing can be easy...ever...

Finally got Broadband...... CHECK
Found Video camera and charged it up.... CHECK
Took some video for my page.........CHECK
Found the cable to hook the camera to the computer.. after a long long search........CHECK

Realizing the $60 fire wire cable does not have a plug on either of our 2 newer computers.....$ucks big ones..

So - spent all day looking for a ieee firewire adapter to a usb port - that doesn't get shipped from Hong Kong.. (no offense any hong kong pals)... Finally had to order one for Hong Kong - cost a whole dollar!! Will take 10-20 days to get here..

No Nothing can be easy or go smoothly around here.

It's all in the food

Just an interesting observation..
We have always had good quality food here.
We used to eat blue buffalo brand.
However, once in a while it would make us
Ralph, barf, upchuck, yak - get it?
Plus we have to drive pretty far to get it.
Well, when our local farm store started carrying
Taste of the Wild - Mom checked it out
and found out it is on the Dogster pal's
approved list.. BOL...
So we tried it.
Let me tell you folks - we LOVE IT.
And as a nice bonus-
My fur used to have a dryer - coarser feel.
Now it is silky smooth.
Mom says all our fur feels like the silky part
of a nice blankie..
(yes, she is retarded).
Anyway - this taste of the wild is highly
recommended in case anyone cares - or was
wondering..

We have not dared to try the fish one though...

We found the owner of the dog

We FOUND the owner of the Dog.
They had posted an ad on Craigslist.
We called them and told them what happened and where we
took him.
Very sad, but they were very glad to know what happened and
thanked us..
If it was our dog we would sure want to know..

Uggg.. Mom is about to fall apart...

Unresponsible owners... GRRRRR (ps very sad so read with- warning)

Oh what a bad morning my Mom had.
She got off work at 6am.
There is big road construction going on - on our main highway - so Mom decided to take an old 4 lane highway home. You can only go about 50 miles per hour - it is a nice relaxing ride.
Mom was tired - and just got off work like I said.

She was driving along - speed limit was 40 mph and just changed to 50 mph - so she was accelerating. She was in the far right hand lane and out of the corner of her eye she saw a white dog. She thought what a pretty Pitt. Then boom boom boom - the dog ran under the car and she ran it over.

OH NO. So she slowed down and could see it struggling in her rearview mirror. She turned a u turn real fast and went back. She blocked traffic and grabbed jia's blanket out of the car. A man almost hit my mom - jerk. But mom got to the dog and being very careful - talking to it - the dog let her pick him up and put him in her car. He was pretty heavy. He was alive and Mom kept talking to him and pulled over to the side of the road.

Mom started calling our vet - not open til 9. Other vets in the area - none open til 8. Our vet had an emergency vet number so we called that number and found out the emergency vet was 1/2 hour away. So she called them and told them she was on her way and what happened.

The sweet boy died before my Mom got there. He had no collar and no microchip. But we know he was loved because of his pink painted toenails. It is so so sad. Mom did everything she could. The emergency vet took a report and noted that my mom brought him in as a "good samaritan" and my mom left her number in case anyone was looking for this beautiful boy.

My Mom then went back to where she hit him and drove up and down the side street there looking for someone to be outside and ask if they knew where a white pit bull lived. But she didn't see any beware of dog signs anywhere - and who knew but down this little side street were TONS of houses and 3 different apartment complexes. Mom said she will drive back there tomorrow and see if there is any missing dog signs...

Such a sad day. Mom called Dad (why I have no idea - **I am putting my paws over my head).... And he was like - WELL, is the FREAKIN CAR OK??? Mom hung up on him.

Then She told him in a text that the pup passed away and about his painted toe nails and Dad then said - it was sad but there was nothing Mom could do... Un responsible owners are why that dog got hit.

That may be true but it is still sad and It hurts..

They NOW Call ME... (say this in your deepest voice)

Yesterday we brought Momma 3 - yes 3!! of those varmints!!

I have officially honed my skills - after digging trenches
and practicing endless hours.
I now can stand very still - listen closely and pounch..
Sometimes I let the little sister help - she takes the low road and I get the high road stuff and we tag team it..

Dad has a Mole trap set-and the score is
Dad=-0 (that's zero, yes it is)
Ty and maybe a little help from Jia = 5 this week!!

on a side note - if you have a mole tunnel -
who had any idea that there would be more than one mole??
We didn't - they just keep on coming... some are big like a rat and some
are really small like a mouse... maybe they're breeding?
