Oh my Dog! Who knew Halloween could be so much fun!?! This is my first halloween, so I was quite suprised! And yesterday was SO exciting! Mommy took Sonny and I to Barktober Fest in Plymouth, on the waterfront! It was chilly, but I had my Darth Vader costume on to keep me warm! We're huge Star Wars fans, so I was Darth Vader and Sonny was Yoda (although he was slightly less as excited about dressing up as I was!) We entered the Costume Contest! And some nice lady even posted a pic of me on her blog because I guess I was one of her favorites! http://activerain.com/blogsview/747000/Barktoberfest-on-Plym outh-MA-waterfront-today

But, anyway, I'll tell you about my time there! First of all, I was so overwhelmed by the HUGE amount of doggies there! I was ecstatic I was going to be able to meet and sniff all of these new and potential doggie pals! I even saw, and got to meet some new dog breeds that I've never met before on walks or in the dog park! How exciting?! There was every dog breed imaginable there, such as, American Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Dobermans, German Shepards, Cane Corsos, Malamutes, Labs, Bostons, Poodles, Rotties, American Pitbull terriers, Bullmastiffs, English Mastiffs, French Mastiffs (my big cousins!), Chihuahuas, Yorkies.. Oh My Dog! The list goes on and on! Can you believe it?! All of us in one place! And we ALLLL got along! Mommy was so proud of me! I did so well, no snarling, growling, or biting. Wow! I did bark, but I had to air my excitment somehow, right?! I swear if I had more of a tail, ever dog could see it would have been going crazy with joy. I was just walking up and down the road, stopping here and there at differnet tables while Mommy talked with the wonderful volunteer exhibitors handing out free stuff (informational pamphlets, magnets and BEST of all.... TREATS!) The Best Friends organization was there! I always watch Dogtown with Mommy and Daddy, so I was waggling with excitement when I was able to meet them! We even watched the adoption show, those beautiful doggies were great! I do hope they find furrever homes! They sure were cute! And then... at noon time, I walked the tent in my costume! Finally, the costume contest! And boy were all the pups dressed to the nines! There were hula girl costumes, dogs dressed as devils, angels, police, fire, ladybugs, butterflies, and my favorites were a Dachsund dressed as a hotdog! BOL! And a nice Bullmastiff I loved dressed as a "pimp big daddy!" How creative! And then there was me, in my Darth Vader costume! And Sonny in his Yoda costume! Just strutting our stuff (even though my helmet kept blinding me!) The judges loved us! they loved every dog... so did the crowd! We got our pictures taken and everything! We had to take at least another go through down the road again to see all the doggies before we headed out around 2! There was just so much to do, so much to see! We had so much fun! I can't even wait until next year when I get to see the friends I met, and hopefully some more! I'm tired already just thinking about what fun I had. Next year I'll be a big girl, and already 1 yr old! So mommy and daddy will most definitley have to put me in a new costume. Hmmm I do wonder what I'll be! i know the competition will be huge! But still so fun! We'll see! Stay tuned...
