A dogs world through a puppies eyes!
A sudden Change?November 18th 2011 12:50 pm[ Leave A Comment | 12 people already have ]
Well last time i wrote in my diary i mentioned i had started barking at other dogs when Im on lead. Well it still continues and Mummy though what better way to nip it in the bud then get someone professional straight away! I now have my own behaviourist who is helping Mummy become more of a leader, the Lady says Im extremely stressed when outside which could be due to all my ear/ skin infections. Im also scared of big dogs, I will be fine fur the first meeting off lead and then I iniciate play but when the big doggies start getting too playful i will run away screaming.

Sounds as if sometime you just lost some confidence.. and the Plan you are working with with the Lady and Mum is doing well..... Keep it up and it great ! im sure that you will do just fine with this new lady and you will feel confident when you are out Oooh Teddy, I'm so proud of you! I know you'll do great! ssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooProud of you Teddy! You will do GREAT! I have issues with sounds, I can't see.....Good thing, I live in the boonies and no neighbors close....We'd be in deep poo! Gma is trying to help me with this. I am responding the word ENOUGH! Better than anything we tried in the past. ssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooProud of you Teddy! You will do GREAT! Keep on practicing with your mom. Keep up the good work Teddy! You're doing super! Glad you're doing better! I freak out at big dogs - I got bad after some attacked me. I'm more relaxed now than I was, but I still will bark and stand up on my back legs. I don't bark at other dogs when out but I bark at strange things that are out of place in the neighborhood, and people walking towards me carrying things in their arms...they look weird. Years ago when my parents had an issue like this with one of their other dogs, they had a trainer come. The trainer had our dog walk a distance behind the strange dog so they could still smell him/her at a distance until he was calm...this way they were not approaching each other. Later, the two dogs were able to sit at the park together. Also, another thing mom used to do was when their dog would bark at another one across the street, she'd start running fast to distract him. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Huey |
