I'm finally home!

Hi! My name is Stevie Ray. My Mommy and Daddy adopted me on 4/10/2008, and I couldn't be happier!

I've had a rough start. My first family was not able to keep me because they were in the military and were transferred overseas. They gave me to another family who didn't really know much about having a dog and they surrendered me to Guardian Angel Pet Rescue after about six months. I spent about two weeks with a really nice lady in foster care and now I'm in my furever home with Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy tells me that she tried to get me before but that my first family decided on something different. No matter. I'm where I'm supposed to be now!

I have a great fursis, named Miss Buddie and we play together all the time. I have another fursis named Gracie. She's older and doesn't like to play much but she's a great nap buddy!

We also have a cat named Oscar. I would LOVE to play chase with him, but he's not really into to it. He doesn't really like me that much yet, but he will! :D

An update on me!

I haven't written in awhile and I wanted to let y'all know how I'm doing.

I'm loving my new home! Miss Buddie is my very bestest friend. We stay in the kitchen together while Mommy & Daddy are at work. We share our toys really well for the most part. (Mommy has to give us our Kongs separately sometimes when she puts peanut butter in them. We get a little greedy sometimes. BOL)

Oscar J. Cat has decided that he likes me. We play chase through the house all the time. Most of the time, I start the game, but the other day, Mommy caught Oscar sneaking up behind me and biting me on the butt to make me chase him!

My all time favorite game is when Daddy gets out the laser pointer I can chase that little red dot for days! Me and Buddie and Oscar will form a team and try to capture it. We have so much fun and Mommy gets such a kick out of watching us play.

When Mommy and Daddy took me to the vet, they found out that I have problems with my back knees, so I have a special treat that I get every day. Mommy calls it "glucosimine". I call it WONDERFUL! It's a soft chewy treat just for me. Every time Mommy gets the tub out, I stand on my back legs and say "PLUHLEEZE!"

I think that's enough about me for now. I'll keep you posted about my adventures in my forever home!

Happy Birthday, Buddie!

Buddie's birthday was yesterday and we all had special dinner to celebrate. Mom gave us our regular food with this great bacon gravy on it.

Can it be my birthday tomorrow? :D

OUCH!

I did a bad thing yesterday.

Me and Miss Buddie were playing in the back yard. Now we have cows next to our house and we're separated from them by our chain link fence. Well, we decided that we wanted to get where the cows are and started to dig under the fence. Problem was... I got my ear stuck in the fence and it tore a hole in my ear. OUCH!

My Aunt B heard me yelp and came outside to check on me. I had blood all over my back. She went and got Mom and we hurried to the emergency vet. I was lucky. All I needed was three stitches and an antibiotic shot.

Mom told me not to do that again. I don't think I will.

Dude, it's COLD!

I sure didn't want to get up this morning. I was snuggled under the covers with my Mom and loving life. When Mom gets up, I usually tag along with her to get Miss Buddie and we go outside. Today, I stayed in bed under the electric blanket.

It's cold out there, man, but Mom made me go anyway. I did get a treat when I came back in, so I guess it's okay.

This dog is ready for spring.

SNOW!

YES! It snowed last night! Me and Buddie went outside for our morning potty break and there was snow EVERYWHERE! It was WONDERFUL.

We raced in it. We rolled in it. We chased squirrels in it. It was awesome! Of course Mom wasn't excited to have to towel all the mud off of us when we came in, but we didn't care.

IT SNOWED! It hardly ever snows where we live so we have to enjoy it while it lasts!

1. I like barking at stuff. Anything that moves works for me.

2. I like to sleep under the covers snuggled up to Mommy's behind.

3. I am crazy about rope bones.

4. I have luxating patellas, but I don't care because I get a yummy treat every day because of it. The vet says mine are just minor and with my treats, I'll probably be fine for a very long time.

5. I like to steal stuff and put it behind the couch.

6. My favorite game is chase the cat, but that's okay because most of the time Oscar starts it.

7. My other favorite game is chasing the laser pointer. I keep looking for the little red dot long after Dad puts the pointer away.

I don't like SNOW!

It snowed here over the weekend. Not just the usual dusty stuff we get, but real, full-on, snowman material snow. Everyone was really excited about it. I was too... until.... I stepped in it. Did you know that stuff is COLD? Like refrigerator cold?

Buddie loved the stuff. She rolled in it. She ate it. She romped in it. Me? I peed and then sat on the back steps with my teeth chattering.
