Today is one of the saddest days for all of us who knew and loved Levi. He made his journey to the Bridge this afternoon.
Our hearts are broken to lose him and we send all our love and comfort to his family. Fly free, sweet boy, you have been an inspiration to all who knew you here on earth and will be a joy to all our other angels who will be there to welcome you to the Bridge.
Until we meet again, all our love.

We think today is Sunny Lee's "Gotcha Day" but have lost touch with them somehow and can't get to Sunny's page even putting in the ID#. So, Sunny Lee, we wanted to wish you a very Happy "Gotcha Day" and ask that you send us a PPR so we can again add you to our pals list.

I think dogster should send email messages to all our Dogster pals when a new family member is added to a dogster account so your friends can quickly be friends with the new member.

If you agree please copy and paste this to your Diary page.

We wanted to wish all of our furiends and their families a very Merry Christmas, however you celebrate!

Each and every one of you enrich our lives with your frienship and we wish all good health, security, joy and happiness with your beloved furs.

For those who have lost a beloved family member this year, our hearts go out to you, but know they will live on in your hearts forever. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have shared together.

In the coming year we hope all with problems will find the help they need to maintain. This is a rough time for so many of us, but we are not alone in our struggles (though they may be different).

Without the love and support we find here on Dogster, our lives would be much less enjoyable. We thank you all for all the kindness you've shown and all the laughter and joy (and, yes, tears) we've shared.

May the peace of this season live in your hearts and the hope we all share for better days to come.

Thank you all for being such a devoted family of friends!

Much love to all~

My Dogs Live Here (borrowed from Zeus' page)

My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
If you don't like pets, be on your way.
They share my home, my food, my space,
this is their home, this is their place.

You will find dog hair on the floor,
they will alert you're at the door.
They will request a little pat,
a simple "no" will settle that.

It gripes me when I hear you say
"just how is it you live this way?
they smell, they shed, they're in the way..."
"WHO ASKED YOU?" is all I can say!!!

They love me more than anyone,
my voice is like the rising sun,
they merely have to hear me say,
"C'mon, time to go and play!"

Then tails wag and faces grin,
they bounce and hop and make a din.
They NEVER say "no time for you",
they're always there, to GO and DO.

And if I'm sad? They're by my side.
And if I'm mad? They circle wide.
And if I laugh, they laugh with me,
they understand, they always see.

So once again, I say to you,
"Come visit me", but know this too:

MY DOGS LIVE HERE, THEY'RE HERE TO STAY.
YOU DON'T LIKE PETS, BE ON YOUR WAY.
THEY SHARE MY HOME, MY FOOD, MY SPACE--
THIS IS THEIR HOME, THIS IS THEIR PLACE.

Socks' 2nd "Gotcha Day" ~ August 19, 2010

Two years ago today (August 19, 2008) a golden ray of sweet joy by the name of "Socks" came to live with us and she has been a soothing, gentle and, surprisingly humorous addition
to our little pack (Sully, Mom & Daddy). Every day we are thankful for this beautiful soul who has so enriched our lives and has, for the first time in 12 plus years (at the time she came here), enjoyed boundless love, plentiful food and permanent shelter no matter the weather. Socks is, like we are, slowing down a bit with age (she's 14+) and we are so blessed to have had the opportunity to pamper her and see to her every need these last two years.

Prior to coming here to live with us, we'd known Socks...she was the neighborhood vagabond, a helpless victim of neglect and abuse. Though she had an "owner", it was in name only. She survived all those years of neglect roaming free in our neighborhood and depending on the kindness of others. She was here with us very often, sometimes for days at a time during rainstorms, snowstorms, heat, cold...no matter the weather, her family by possession only ignored her. When the family left on vacation, they just left her behind to fend for herself. For years, Mom & Daddy begged them to let us bring her to live with us, but their proprietary answer was always "NO! She's OUR dog!"

When the family turned Socks over to us following the death of her "owner" they had no idea of any medical records or even if she had ever had shots (we called every vet in town and there were no records to be found). She was our beloved "Buddy"s best friend his entire life of ten years and we feel like he had a paw in her coming to us to spend her senior years in love and comfort. That family's trash is our treasure for every minute of every day that she has left to spend with us.

When Socks' time to cross the Bridge comes, we will try very hard to remember only the good times we were able to share with her and be very grateful that we had the opportunity to show her the meaning of love in her later years. Mom gazes into those big brown eyes every day, trying to imprint a vision that will never fade away...so soft, so sweet and, at times, so utterly silly!

Even though there were a few weeks of the green eyed monster from Sully when she first came to stay, they bonded quickly and are now joined at the hip...brofur and sisfur forever! Her being here has enhanced his life tremendously by having another four legged to share giggles with at the two stumbling, bumbling old folks that love them both so and do their best for them!

Thank you sweet girl for all you've given us these last two years and we hope and pray that you will stay with us a whole lot longer. We love you, dear, sweet Socks, and wish you a very happy "Gotcha Day"!!
