Nicknames: Monkey, Sweet Pea, Sweetheart, Hersh, Radar Ears, the Hershmeister
Birthday: February 4th 2006
Likes: Meeting everyone when Mama takes her for a walk, playing with as many toys as she can, playing frisbee with Papa
Pet-Peeves: Thunderstorms is the #1 pet peeve. Also, not being able to meet people. She has a unique way of voicing her displeasure to her "Mama."
Favorite Toy: Squeaky toys, i.e. ducks, mouse, otter, or just about anything soft that she can carry in her mouth.
Favorite Food: Anything in the treat category.
Favorite Walk: Central Bark, playing frisbee in the back yard.
Best Tricks: Shake hands, lie down, speak and wagging her tail on command. Hershey is becoming a master at catching treats without jumping for them.
Arrival Story: We got Hershey through a breeder in Maine that we found on line. She was eight weeks old when she came to live with us in Connecticut. It was pouring rain the day we got her. She is a great family pet.
Bio: We have another miniature schnauzer in the family. Her name is Kaci (pronounced Casey). Kaci lives in New Hampshire with her Mama (my husband's mother). There is an age gap of almost a year and a half between the two dogs. Kaci is the older of the two. The two of them have become the best of friends. Kaci also was with us when we brought Hershey home.
Mama was going to write a diary entry about how Jessy and I ran around Jessy's yard like "jackrabbits." Mama was impressed that I can run like the wind and keep up with Jessy. I am much better than when I was a puppy. There were several times I took off on Papa and occasionally on Mama.
Instead, Mama woke up to find out that I am one of the DDPs for today. I am not sure how many honors and awards this makes for me but I appreciate every one of them. Thank you Dogster, DQ.
So far I have received a beautiful photo from Nina which Mama will post in a little while. It is a picture of me doing what I love to do best - play frisbee. I have also received a trophy from Peek A Boo and his family and a pretty pink ribbon from the West Coast Hershey and Winkie.
Mama and I just logged on and saw that we got some pretty balloons from Charlie, Abbie, Toto and the rest of their family and a lovely blue ribbon from Anya, Elise and Scarlett.
And I am in good company in the DDP department because one of my pup pals - Mia is also a DDP for today too.
Thank you all for helping me celebrate my DDP today.
Mama and I will be going to visit Jessy and my "aunt" tomorrow. My "aunt" has the day off and she and Mama decided that since Jessy and I get along so well at "my" house that they wanted to see how well Jessy and I are at "her" house. My grandfather will be visiting with us later. All in all it should be fun - well maybe as not much fun for Mama in the driving department.
We may have limited internet access since we will be traveling this time.
