It's been 2 years since mum adopted me from the shelter. Alot has happened in that time but she couldnt be more happier to have me in her life. I was taken to the shelter because I killed the neighbours chickens. My previous owners were going to have me and my mum put down. The house sitter convinced the owners to let her find us a home. Well she found a home for my mum who was a golden lab but not for me so off to the shelter I went. Mum was standing near the front fence when I was taken out of the car and she knew at that moment I was the dog for her. Plus she's a sucker for any dog with a ridge.
I was taken through to the kennels drooling and shaking I was so scared. There were so mnay dogs just barking and barking, I'd never been to a place like this before. About an hour later mum came into my kennel to clean it and I was like her shadow. I followed her around and never left her side. By the end of the day, 5 hours after I had come in I had found my forever home.
The very first thing I did when mum brought me home was run around the yard doing zoomies like a crazy girl I was just so happy to be out of that place and have a nice big backyard of my own.
During the past two years I've almost gone to the rainbow bridge countless times and I've destroyed alot of things. I was only 18 months when mum brought me home and now this year I'll be turning 4. I've passed my puppy stage and now I enjoy lazing around next to the couch and just enjoying life. I also have a little brother that keeps me company and I have a ball playing with him. I say I hit that jackpot when mum adopted me. Or shall I say when I chose my human.
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the dogster pups that sent me gifts and thank you to HQ for picking me. What a great week it's been so far, I'm really enjoying my week in the spotlight :)
