I love sprinkler season!!! I love hoses! I love pools! I love ponds! I love lakes! I love swimming! But then my mom won't let me back in the house because I'm all drippy wet.... But who cares? I love sprinklers!
For some reason, some of the humans in my house have been buying all sorts of new stuff, and not letting me have any! I saw them! I saw then go to Tisol, and I saw them bring home a whole bunch of new toys, and even a new bed in a bag! Then they brought home a bag of food, that they won't let me eat. And they won't give me any of it. No matter how hard I stare at the stuff, they won't give it to me. Anyways then they opened the bag, and I noticed everything was pink, so I figure, who needs new toys anyways?
I don't know why they're hoarding all that pink stuff though. (There's even a pink leash & collar in there!) Any ideas???

Hi everybody, Captain Kerberos here!
I feel so much better now than I did two weeks ago! I was taking Torb (morphine) every day, hoping that the pain would just go away! I had to miss out on a lot of fun stuff like picnics, ball games, and other dog events too. :( I couldn't walk, I couldn't stand up, I couldn't chase balls, I couldn't even drink water out of my bowl by myself... Not only did my bum hurt, I couldn't poop so my tummy hurt too, and everything looked all funny. It was no fun at all! Being sick is icky! Luckily it is much better now, and all the skin is healing, so I can go out without worrying about infections.
My bum is still itchy sometimes, and don't you dare touch it!
I didn't sleep a lot while my bum was bothering me because it kept me up at night, so after it started to get better I slept for almsot two days solid. But now I'm up for new challenges, and showing off my 4-foot-high jumping!
I also managed to tear my carpal pad open. It hasn't been a very good month! Mom keeps touching my pad (the one up on my wrist), and it hurts so much! Even when I scream she still keeps touching it and putting stuff on it. :( It's fine as long as nobody touches it, and I can't even feel it when I'm walking, but mom keeps trying to peel the sliced skin back. She says something about airing it out... Whatever! If airing out means it stings like crazy, I don't want it!
That's all for now.
Your friend,
Kirby the LuvButt

Kirby is currently bedridden at home, and will be for several more days, possibly a week and a bit. He is recovering (slowly) from surgical treatment to repair an anal fissure caused by an abscessed anal gland. Lots of drugs are keeping him together, and he is having a difficult time walking, (wouldn't you, if you had a very hurt bum?) and his entire back end is very bothersome, and it keeps him up at night (who in turn keeps me up at night.)
This is a real blow to him, especially in the summer when crazy dogs like him are usually out for inhuman multiple-kilometer hikes, and hours upon horus wrestling at dog parks. Kirby is not very happy without being able to walk, let alone run, jump, or swim.
He can stand/walk only for about 10 seconds at a time before the pain attacks him and he falls into a sitting position. This means that he cannot eat or drink normally without having his bowl brought up to him, and pooping is plain out of the question for now! Thankfully he is easy to pill. He is constantly trying to itch it, and is not very cooperative when it comes to applying topical ointments!
The road of recovery for an active dog seems so long and winding. After the recovery period, his owner is going to need a recovery period!
Please wish him well, and he will be back to talk to you soon! Hopefully this pitiful pooch will be up and at 'em by the end of the week!

When I was outside on the porch today, surveying the neighbourhood. I SWEAR I could smell peanut butter... But I looked in the screen door and mom was just mixing something in a bowl. There was broccoli out though, I wanted some. And when I came in, something that smelled like peanut butter and carrots was in the oven! Peanut butter, carrots and broccoli are some of my favourite things!!! I hope it's for me!
Mom says tomorrow is my "birthday." I think I had two of those before, but I don't remember anything about birthdays smelling this yummy. So mom says that I will be three years old tomorrow. That means I've been alive for three years, and living with my family for 34 months. I've sure done a lot of fun things so far!
Mom gave me half an extra carrot... I shared it with Rolo.
I wonder if I get to go to the dog park tomorrow.

Oreo, one of my baby guinea pigs went away on Friday. He was wheezing, and not moving very much, and me and my Mom looked after him for what seemed like a long time... But then he started shaking, and I was scared, and I didn't know what to do. At 9:29, Mommy told me that Oreo wasn't coming back, and that made me sad. Oreo was only 9 months old. Why did they have to take MY baby?
Rolo is sad too. He isn't squeaking and whistling like he usually does, me and Mom have been spending a lot of time with him, but it isn't the same without Oreo running around too. It isn't as much fun to herd just one. When I go into Mom's room, and see that Oreo isn't there, it depresses me, and I just want to go to sleep. I don't really want to play with the other dogs at the park, or in class either, it's just not fair. I miss Oreo. =(
Oreo, wherever you are, I hope you are happy, healthy and playing.
We miss you, We love you,
Kirby, Rolo & Mom.

On Sunday, it snowed! There was a lot of snow for Vancouver... I am used to a lot of rain. Well, Mom and I went to the dog park and met up with my half brother and his half sister. Me and Jagg are both from the same breeder and have the same dad- Diabolo. Jagg and Frankie have the same mom.
We had a lot of fun running through the snow and chasing eachother, other dogs and birds.
Here are pictures of the three of us: http://www.prodoggroomingsupplies.com/dog-forums/showthread. php?t=12618
[I'm not wearing a jacket, I don't mind the cold[
I think Jagg migth join me in the wonderful world of AGILITY soon. I sure hope so anyways, I've been training for almost a year and a half now, and it is SO fun!!!!
Hope you're having a happy winter!

Today, my parents brought home some new friends for me! They are 2 month old male guinea pigs, and I adore them! I think their names are Oreo and Rolo, named for what they look like. Rolo is a black and chocolate english guinea pig, he's very friendly and keeps kissing my nose. Oreo is bigger than Rolo, he doesn't like me as much... He's a black and white teddy bear guinea pig. (They were originally supposed to be named Paul and Ringo... which is cute as well)
They are very cute in their cage, snuggling together, and I make sure I stand by to guard them! Mom let them out and they walk on my tail, but I don't like them touching my paws. And I got a greenie afterwards too.
They kind of remind me of Duke. Here are more pictures of us: http://www.prodoggroomingsupplies.com/dog-forums/showthread. php?t=8761

Dear Readers,
How is it that ANY 17 pound dog can have SO much energy? And productive at that! Did soembody take the energizer bunny's drum, then bleach him? Or... is this a border collie in sheep's clothing?
SERIOUSLY!
He gets at least 3 miles a day (1.5 walk, 1.5 run), and we always toss the ball around and race for a bit in the yard/house for 30-45 minutes or so.
3+ days a week, we go to the dog park (1 mile each way) and he stays for (2-3 hours).
And 1+ days weekly, he gets agility....
All that, and he's STILL doing zoomies at midnight instead of sleeping!?! Give me a rest please, Kirby!

My Mom has stopped leaving me during the day for so long now... Something about less school? She's taking "advanced credits" now? Whatever those are. Anyways, she's at home with me more, that means I get to go to the dog park more often.
We went down to Trout Lake today, and I played for about three hours. I played with lots of different dogs, and rolled in a nice big mud puddle. Mom groaned with delight when I came to her with the self dye job. From white to black is less than five minutes!
A little 10-year-old Malti-Poo followed me around for a long time. Those things seem to like me for some reason... like those two down the street, but Lucky wasn't mean like they are.
Oh yeah, Mom sent in my application for our [Agility Association of Canada] competition numbers! (One for me, and one for Mommy as a junior handler) That means that we'll be able to compete in real competitions for points and titles soon!
When I do agility, I need to get my hair cut more often. Usually I go to the groomer every 3 months (I get shaved down to an inch and a half each time), because otherwise, all sorts of things stick in my hair, especially when I go swimming. But when it gets longer I can't see, so Mom has to stick my hair back with water whenever I run a course.
Until another time...
Kirby
