Thanks to all my sweet Dogster Friends! I loved all my sweet presents and messages yesterday. It's enough to make a girl blush! :D
I got something better than soft food yesterday.... GRAVY! I LOVE GRAVY! My Aunt B put some on my food and I was in HEAVEN! :D
We called to check on Gracie this morning. She did good through the night and she's sleeping comfortably. (All she does is sleep anyway... BOL.) The vet will be in later this morning and let us know if she's okay to come home. We're hoping she can come home and just be on medicine for a few days. We miss our Gracie Girl, but Mommy says we have to trust the vet for the best thing...
Thanks for the prayers, y'all. They're working!

First the happy: Today is my birthday! I'm 2 today. Mommy can't believe that I'm already two years old. Seems like just yesterday that I came home and was chewing everything in sight! BOL!
Mommy's planning a special surprise for me later. I hope it's canned food. She knows it's my favorite and Stevie and me don't get it very often.
Now the sad: Our sisfur, Gracie Mae, is at the vet today. She's been throwing up and having diarrhea since about 2:30 this morning. She's really old (14), so this isn't such a small thing. Our Aunt B took her to the vet this morning and she's getting lots of tests done. Mommy's really worried. She says it doesn't look good. Could we get some prayers for our Gracie. Mommy says she's ready for the Bridge, but we may not be ready for her to go....
HAPPY UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!
Mommy just got off the phone and Gracie isn't as sick as we thought! Her liver and kidneys are doing fine. Her white count and pancreatic counts are up, so they're going to keep her overnight on IV's. But things are much more hopeful than we thought.
Keep those prayers and good thoughts coming. I want my Gracie healthy for my birthday!

As some of you may have read, we had a big ole flood at our house. The washing machine went crazy while the peeps were away and it trashed all our carpet. Lots of big guys came into the house and pulled all the carpet and all the padding up. For about a month, we lived on just concrete floors. It was weird, but kinda nice on hot days. I just laid on the concrete flat on my belly to cool off.
ANYWAYS...
Last week, another group of guys came over and put new carpet in the house. Mom was SOOO excited. She picked a new color that would be great for us. She said it hides muddy feets. Not sure what that means, because I came in with muddy feets last night and I would see them just fine. Whatev.
The first night we had the carpet back, Me, Stevie and Oscar J. Cat all laid out on the floor and took a nap together. It's so snuggly soft.
YAY Carpet!

Us Brat Packers have just been overwhelmed with gifts over the last couple of days. We just feel the love! Thanks to everyone who sent us wonderful treats and know that we love each and every one of you too!
We had snow over the weekend at my house, and I'm the only four-footer who liked it. Gracie and Stevie didn't like getting their paws wet and cold and well, Oscar's an inside dude anyway. Me? I love it! I jump and run and play and eat it! It's wonderful! Could be that I have this wonderful double coat that keeps me warmer than the rest of them. Mom just thinks I'm part Husky too! BOL
Sending love and warm vibes to wherever our Dogster friends may be.
Love and snuggles,
Miss Buddie the Wonder Dog!

We live in Memphis and Mom always says that if you don't like the weather here, wait about 15 minutes and it'll be different. Well, last week it was really, really cold. Today it's really, really warm and stormy.
Me and Stevie were out doing our morning patrol of the back yard when it started raining... HARD! Then the wind whipped up and it was raining sideways! We tried hiding in our doghouse, but it was even raining in there! YIKES!
Luckily, Mom realized what was going on and let us inside. We usually have to stay outside until Mommy and Kiddo leave in the morming, but today we got to eat breakfast early and hang out with them.
Mommy and I played our chase game with the hairdryer. She blows me in my face and I bite the air then run away. Then I come back and we do the same thing. It was pretty fun.
Maybe I like sideways rain...

It was time for my check up, so we went to the vet on Saturday. I'm not wild about the vet, but I love riding in the car, so I go along with it.
Mommy was so surprised at how much I've grown. Last year I was 15 pounds and Mom figured that was how big I'd be. Well.... on Saturday I weighed 23.1 pounds and Dr. Lebell says I'm all muscle!
They came in and poked me with all sorts of needles and put this stick in a place that we're not even going to talk about! GROSS! Mommy helped the vet techs hold me and she kept telling me it was going to be okay. I was glad when that part was over.
Dr. Lebell told Mommy that all my tests came back perfect and that I'm the picture of health. (I could have told them that without that nasty stick! Geez.) Then they put this weird box on my side and took a picture of what my heart sounds like. That turned out good too.
Mommy was very glad that I did good at the vet. She let me stick my head out of the window on the way home. (She held me while Daddy drove.) PLUS, I got some cheese at home as my special treat.
Even with the gross stick, it was a pretty good day.

7 Fun facts about me.........
1. I love having cows right across the fence from me. I get to "herd" them whenever I want.
2. I sleep under the covers with my head on the pillow.
3. My favorite game is tug of war.
4. I sound like Chewbacca when I yawn.
5. Mommy doesn't leave me alone with my tennis balls anymore because I peel them and then try to eat the yellow stuff.
6. I love getting my nails trimmed. The last time Dad did it, I actually feel asleep.
7. Mommy and Daddy have to watch me outside at night because I'm not afraid of the coyotes who live in the woods behind our house. I'm the protector!

I can't help it if it rained and snowed last night. I can't help it that I like to crouch on my belly and chase squirrels.
When I came in this morning, Mommy had to towel a lot of mud off me because I rolled in the snow. She thinks I'm just goofy. I think I'm pretty smart to get a good towel down first thing in the morning. It feels wonderful! ;)

I just wanted to wish all my Dogster Friends and Family a Merry Christmas. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with friends, family, treats and squeaky toys!
We'll be spending our Christmas at home. Mommy brought home a big ole bag of stuff from the store last night, and even though she won't admit it, I think there was some stuff for me and the Brat Pack in there! :D
May the Peace of Christmas and the Reason for the Season shine bright in all your lives.
Love and ear scratches to all,

When Mommy went to Petsmart went to get our food, she found these great new toys made by Kong. They're Wubbas that are covered in this really tough canvas material. Stevie and me are really rough on toys but Mom thought this could be something that even we would have a tough time tearing up.
Well....
I got my new toys and LOVED THEM! I wouldn't even let Stevie have a chance to play with them. I herded both of them into a little pile and just had a big time chewing on them.... and about ten minutes after having them, there was great big tear in the material on BOTH OF THEM!
The Jaws of Power will not be denied! BOL!

It's hot. It's really hot. It's like Africa hot!
Mom can't let us go outside for very long because the temps are hitting above 100! Miss Gracie is taking the worst because of her age, but we're all a little woozy from the heat.
If you need us, Stevie and I will be under our shade tree... panting.

Okay, so Mom and Dad fixed the fence where we were getting out.
NOW...
I've figured out how to get to the AC unit that Mom and Dad enclosed with chicken wire... DIG UNDER!
I was pretty proud of myself for being so smart, but Mommy and Daddy weren't so impressed. They're trying to figure out a way to keep me away from those wires. Mom's afraid that I'll hurt myself.
Back to the drawing board....

This morning when Mommy came outside to let us know that it was time to come in, me and Stevie Ray were nowhere to be found. Poor Mommy freaked out. She thought that we had run away or gotten through the fence to the cow pasture next door.
Luckily the Kiddo came outside to help Mommy look. Just to check, she looked through the crack in the next door neighbor's wood fence and saw me and Stevie over there playing with the neighbor dog.
Turns out, there's about a six inch gap in the neighbor's wood fence. Just big enough for me and Stevie to wiggle through. Mommy was really mad that we scared her but she was so relieved to find us that she hugged us and gave us treats.
Can you guess what Daddy's weekend project is going to be???

I'm LOVING the summer! It's really warm and Mommy lets me go outside all I want, which is A LOT! I love being outside.
Mommy and Daddy bought me and Stevie Ray this big blue plastic thing that they fill up with water. Looks like a ginormous water bowl, which is what Stevie and me thought it was. Mommy calls it a pool and she wanted us to get in it... like a bathtub.
Hello... Mom... we hate baths!
So Mommy and B put us into the water to show us how it's supposed to work. Granted, it cooled us off a little, but... it still feels like a bath. The Kiddo likes it. She sits in it and splashes us with water, which is pretty fun. Of course Stevie likes anything that he can make into a game of chase.
It's a great water bowl though!

Last Thursday, Mommy and Daddy took me to Petco. I thought we were getting a new Kong, but we got a brofur! His name is Stevie Ray and he's GREAT! We play and play and play! We've only gotten a little grumpy a couple of times over toys, but for the most part, we're best buds. We eat out of the same bowl most of the time and we're sharing treats pretty good. (I sometimes steal his, but don't tell, k?)
Stevie's got his own Dogster page now. You can find a link for it on my page. Check it out and make him your friend too!

On Easter morning, I woke up really early and Daddy let me out in the backyard to do my business. About a half an hour later, Mommy came to the back door to let our my sisfur, Gracie. She heard that I was barking a lot, but she figured that I was barking at the dog next door. GUESS AGAIN!
When Mommy looked out the kitchen window, I was at the back fence (we have a chain link fence) growling with my ruff fluffed all the way out and I was standing nose to nose with a coyote! It was in the big field behind our house and it was closer to my yard than I wanted it to be.
Mommy was really nervous that it got that close to me, but I told her not to worry because I'm the DOG, Baby! :D

My mommy is so proud of me! Lately, I've been having a little trouble with my leash. I was getting growly at people and other dogs when we went on our walks. Mommy was concerned so she posted a question at Dogster Answers for some help.
Jack's Mom was really great and told Mommy about this thing called Leash Aggression. Turns out that I'm good, but I get frustrated because I can't go as far as I want to. Mommy read a bunch of stuff on the Internet about it and how it affects dogs like me and took some of the advice she got from Jack's Mom.
Guess what! It worked! Mommy got me a new leash that lets me go ahead of her and check stuff out. Dogs like me like to run ahead and wait for our moms and dads to give us commands about what to do. So I can check out the world and I can still listen to my Mommy for what to do! Mommy even brings cookies on our walks to let me know when I do extra special good listening!
Over the weekend, I walked by kids playing, even one riding a bike, and I was good. I even gave one little girl kisses on her hand. I'm even doing better when cars pass by. I don't try to herd them as much anymore.
This morning, we passed a Yorkie off leash in her yard and I gave her "nice hellos" without growling. I was a little bummed that Mommy didn't let me stay and play, but she had to go to work today. ;D
We work on my listening at home too. I'm getting better at "sit" and "lay down" and "give."
I'm one smart girl! :D

Friday evening this white fluffy stuff started falling. It covered the ground. Everyone at my house got really excited. I've never seen it before. When everyone got home from work and school (which was early) we went outside to check it out. Mommy made me put my coat on, which I HATE, and I checked it out. It was really cold and wet and TASTED GREAT!
The Kiddo made these balls with it and threw them. I chased them around a little and then ate them too.
After a while we came in and warmed up. I think I could be a snow dog! :D

Last night, as Mommy and I were headed to bed, we heard it. Howling. Yelping. Whining. COYOTES! I immediately sprang into action. I am Buddier the Wonder Dog after all.
I barked and barked. I didn't care that it was 11:00 p.m. The alarm had to be sounded. COYOTES! I hate coyotes!
Usually, I go to bed with whoever's up last, but I couldn't abandon my post. Mommy went to bed and I laid down on the back of the recliner, keeping my eyes on the front door... just in case....

My oldest fursister, Rosie, died yesterday. She was fine and then all the sudden, she wasn't so fine. Mommy took her to the doctor. Mommy came home, but Rosie didn't. She said something about Rosie going to the Rainbow Bridge. I'm not sure where that is, but Mommy said it was a good and happy place and that Rosie will love it there.
I'm sure going to miss her.... :(

Last night, Mom was on the 'puter playing a new game and I was sitting in her lap as usual. Well, this game was soooooo cool! It made great noises and had lots of stuff going across the screen. I was so stoked!
I tried really hard to help Mommy win the game. I was following the pointer on the screen and kept pushing the button on that thing Mom calls a mouse. Then I started barking at the screen and pushing the space bar with my foot. It was so fun!
I hope Mom lets me play that game again, cuz I'm good! :D

I just absolutely LOVE riding in the car! I've been to Petco and Petsmart with my Mom and Dad and my Aunt B lets me ride with her sometimes when she's going to to the drive-through pharmacy.
Now everytime someone gets out their keys, I'm ready to go! Last night, I tried to go out with Mom when she was taking the Kiddo out for a movie. I was really bummed when Mommy told me that they don't let puppies into the movies. They should you know... I'm really good. I'd lay in Mom's lap and watch it too. I'd only try to kiss everybody one time... probably... :D

I told y'all before about the coyotes in our neighborhood.
Well, the other night Mommy heard me barking up a blue streak. She thought at first that I was giving the neighbor dogs heck. (Sometimes they run loose and aggravate me.) So she opened the door to let us (Rosie, Gracie and me) in and she found out who I was really barking at: a coyote.
I was at the back fence which backs up to an open field which leads to the woods where the coyote pack lives. There was a young coyote standing at our back fence. He was probably stalking Rosie and Gracie since they're so little, but I wasn't having it. While Rosie and Gracie were hiding in the dog house, I was right up by the fence barking like mad with my ruff all poofed out and everything.
I might only be five months, but I don't take no crap off nobody and nobody's gonna pick on my fursisters 'cept ME!
It scared Mommy a little that I was so brave, but she was proud of me too for taking care of the Ladies.

As my Daddy was coming home yesterday afternoon, he saw something big moving in the field beside our house. Getting closer, he noticed that it was a rather large COYOTE! We've been hearing a group of them bay at night but this was the first time we've seen one this close to our house. The part that bothered my Mommy was that it was pretty early in the evening. It wasn't even quite dark yet when Daddy pulled inot the driveway.
Mommy's a little worried and really looking carefully outside before we go outside. She's especially worried for Rosie and Gracie since they're so little.
Be praying for us. I'm a big dog and bred to protect cows, but Mommy worries about me anyway.

My mom came home to visit me for a second today on her lunch break. My aunt Belinda was staying with me today so I didn't have get spend my day in the kitchen today! (YAY)
When Mom found me, I was lying in the backyard in my favorite sunny spot taking a wonderful nap! It was wonderful. It's a little chilly out today, but I have a thick coat, so it's all good!

When we woke up this morning it felt weird outside. The wind was making strange noises and smelled funny. Rosie and Gracie didn't even sniff the grass this morning. They went straight inside the doghouse and stayed there.
Then all the sudden the sky started to flash and make noise and the rain just poured. I crowded into the doghouse with Rosie and Gracie and waited for mom to let us in.
When we got inside we were soaked to the skin. Mom toweled us off and it felt SOOOO good! Then we all got special breakfast and I got my special treats for being a good girl.
Whenever the sky made that noise, we all got really scared and huddled together on the bed.
Mom left the radio on for us to listen to today while she's at work. I hope this doesn't last very long.

Mom took me to the vet on Monday for those nasty shots! BLECH! I was really brave and didn't cry at all, but my scruff was sore for the rest of the day. At least they give me treats when those shots are over.
BUT the really cool thing is that I'm BIGGER! I'm 12.8 pounds! That's a whole 3 pounds bigger than I was just four weeks ago! My vet is really happy with me. I'm eating good and growing just like I'm supposed to.
After my vet trip, Mom took me to our kid's daycare to pick her up and I got to go in too! All the kids were really excited to see me and I was excited too. I liked lots of faces and nibbled lots of earlobes. Everyone giggled and had a great time.
After we got home I took a long nap cuz that's a busy day for a (not so) little (anymore) dog! :D

Yesterday morning, my people started getting really excited about some guy named Santa who'd come. I didn't hear anybody come in, but hey, he left me presents!
There was this big sock hanging by the fireplace and it had presents for me, Gracie, Rosie and Oscar J. Cat. I got a new baby! It's one of those really long rabbit thingies from Petco, but I call it a baby. It was my favorite! My Aunt Belinda got me a new coat too, but I really didn't feel like trying it on. I'm not big on clothes much... except to chew on. :D
Rosie and Gracie got dresses and some special treats. Oscar J. Cat got a new scratching thingamagig and a new mouse that smelled funny to me. He liked it though.
Mom made us all special Christmas dinners that were FAB-U-LOUS! I inhaled mine.
Last night I slept with my new baby and had good dreams.
I think I like this Christmas thing.

My mom makes me stay in the kitchen while she and Dad go to work during the day. They keep me in with a baby gate across the door. WELL...... yesterday, I figured out that I'm strong enough to pull that sucker out of the door if I want to!
SWEET FREEDOM!
I ran all over the house and invaded the other room where the Ladies sleep during the day. It was fabulous! I ate their special food that I never get to eat (they have allergies ya know) and I LOVED IT! I tried to get into the room where Oscar J. Cat hangs out during the day but the door was shut. Dagnabbit! I was hoping for a turn at the kitty litter buffet. Well, I guess you can't have everything.
Mom made sure that the gate was really secure this morning before she left for work... stay tuned, y'all! I'll let you know about my adventures today! :D

Last night Mom and Dad put up this thing called a Christmas tree. I tell ya, it was pretty doggone weird. It's literally a TREE... in our living room! I sniffed it a little and chewed on the end of one branch, but it doesn't taste like the trees outside. Tastes more like my Kong, really. Anyway, Mom didn't like that I chewed on it, cuz she did that loud clap that tells me I'm not supposed to chew that.
BUT...
My best friend, Oscar J. Cat, had the best time with the tree. He tried to climb it a bunch of times, but Mom didn't like that either. She kept getting the spray bottle out. I don't know why Oscar doesn't like the spray bottle. I think it's awesome, but he's got this thing about water. Sometimes cats are strange.
Me and Oscar just laid in the floor and looked at the lights. I've never seen a tree with lights before. It was pretty cool.
I can't wait to see what else they bring out. I like new stuff to chew! :D
