Birthday: February 2nd 2005 Pet-Peeves: Fireworks and Thunder Favorite Food: Salmon Arrival Story: Rafe is a rescue dog who found his way to us thanks to the wonderful people at Brightstar German Shepherd Rescue in Rochester NY.
He came from Tennessee where he was found tied to a tree on a farm. There were over 100 other dogs living in horrible conditions in a barn. The dogs were in very poor health and many didn't survive. While there are no records, Rafe appeared to be part German Shepherd and part Siberian Husky. Given his appearance and behavior, there was also the distinct possibility he was part wolf.
He had a severe case of heartworm and x-rays found that he had been shot with the BB still lodged in his back.
He is fully recovered from the heartworm and is now living the good life in upstate New York.
