Thanks for tagging me ANGEL! I LOVE THESE!
Alright Pals! You made it here. I see you caught my foot ball pass. Here is what you should do next! Hurry and pass the ball to 5 of your team mates so they can make a touch down. You are also supposed to write down 5 things about yourself that are funny. Also please leave me a bone and ask all those who visit your diary to leave you a bone so you will know they have been there! Okā¦Here goes the play!
1.) I'm a very funny Dogo and notice everything. I'll wait until my mom is quiet and call her attention to something I think is funny then I'll smile, it's like she can read my mind; or maybe we're just both that twisted.
2.) When I play with my kity I go to my toy box and get her catnip toys for her and when I want to play with my mom I'll go get the buzzy bees they are her favorite; I like all my toys and play while mom does the dishes!
3.) My mom makes coats for me and sometimes I refuse to wear them sometimes, like I hate the cowboy coat with fringe and will not wear it anymore.
4.) I'm not food motivated so I have a chair with treats on it all the time just waiting for me; but if my kity wants a chewy and she doesn't ask first I take it away from her.
5.) If company stays too late I will chew their shoes or physically kick them off the couch.
Here are my five Pup Pals that I'm tagging:
1. Tango
2. Ari
3. Lincoln and Lily
4. icarus
5. Bix

So, seven things about myself...here we go!
1. I love a cat.
2. My mom doing dishes is my signal that all is well and I get out a toy and play.
3. I can not live without my daily walk the longer the better.
4. I'm allergic to everything probably even my cat.
5. I sleep under the covers, next to my mom with my legs curled up in her back. I have to touch her or I don't sleep well. Sometimes I kick her all night long.
6. I howl in my sleep and sing with my BFF chelsea.
7. I am a very picky eater unless my mom wants it.
So, there's my seven, and the seven others I will tag will be...
Tango
icarus
Ari
Magnuson
Gwen
Lexi

Well another summer gone and another typical one filled with benedryl, frontline, badger balm, and baths. I have to stay more on top of his front line. I thought I'd missed a day but obviously I need to overlap by a week. He is so allergic to bugs and allergens poor guy. The good news is no steroids this year.
I had my knee fixed on August 28th and more good news I'm almost 100% and walked a bit over the weekend. Frankie sure hates it when I'm down. He is absolutely the best workout partner ever and I can't wait to get back to it! His BFF's family has been walking him since we lost our walker Rose. Due to his new walker being his BFF there was no weird emotional gap thank god! He is at times too sensitive for his own good.
Teddy was here for a few days resting up from her Hawaii trip before school. SHES A SENIOR! The weird thing is how Frankie acts when she is here. Frankie LOVES LOVES LOVES Teddy just not in his bed or his spot on the couch. She now watches him when I travel on business and she does not let him on the big bed, tuck him in or give him people food. So maybe that's it? Shes the bad mommy and when she's here I'm gone maybe he kept waiting for me to leave. But what a freak he started groaning I'd say it was a growl but there was no aggression behind it just a ohhhhh ooohhh. I was like Frank stop! He finally did settle down but not before scaring me. I couldn't tell is his tummy was bad from something his cat brought him or what.
I've started sewing again as I do in the fall. I'm not to the dogo coats yet but made him so many if I didn't make him one this year he'd still be the best dressed dogo this side of the mountains! But of course I've picked up loads of fleece for his new ones. Some cool pink camo nascar fleece which will look great against his white fur! and some great black furry fleece. So I'm kind of excited to get started.
Anyway the other day I'm sewing and Kity runs in and passes him some small furry item and he doesn't even look at it or smell it he just gulps it down. I'm sure Kity wouldn't bring him anything bad I think she loves him but truthfully I can't tell with Kity because she is so psycho. Does she love him or is it more like keep your friends close and enemies closer kind of things; and is she secretly plotting his demise? I can't tell. She seems to love him but then I'll see her bit him or scratch him and she hates getting out of his bed in the office so he can lay down too. It is in fairness a giant cat bed but it is the Dogos!

So the thing about Dogo skin is that it's so sensitive that summers can be a challenge. I wipe him down everytime we go anywhere that he is in contact with grass or brush and still he breaks out. So it's benedryl for the Dogo and he hates that he knows he doesn't feel normal and gives me the stink eye over it. I hate that. But poor guy one summer we did steroidal medication and yes it helped but he was crazed and so not a good option for us. The thing about dogos is their saliva stains their fur and skin pinkish tan so you can tell if they have an issue fairly quickly but you can not get rid of the pink/tan it seems until the next season.

Frank went for his four year well fur kid check on Monday. I can simply not believe he is four already. He has health insurance through Petsmart and I actually have to drop him off for the day. He hates the vet. We often have to trick him to get him into the back. He is so hip to the scared dog vibe so it's very stressful for him to go, even if it is only a well dog check. Plus they like to put them in the little cages and he was too big for that at a year old so this time he got a room to himself, but ended up staying the day. I had walked him before we went and he slept the rest of the day and is no worse the wear. Thank goodness it's always a worry that he'll be traumatized when I pick him up like that last time I boarded him. But seriously the next day I could not tell he'd been.
I also did this right after I returned from a business trip so he was already exhausted from me getting home so it all worked out perfectly. I love that he misses me but I hate that he cries when I get home. He must have cried for an hour at least. The best thing about his well dog check is that he can go with me the next time I go to Oregon and I've even found a doggie daycare for him already.
He is 136lbs of Dogo fun and in perfect shape. With his raw diet and his daily walks his skin is perfect accept that back hind leg that looks like its feathers molting or dinosaur skin?? The vet assured me it's all good the only thing to be mindful of are his teeth and although he likes to play that he is getting his teeth brushed when I do mine he is not so into the chicken flavored dog toothpaste and won't go full blown people toothpaste either so that is a struggle but I heard that if they eat raw bones that their teeth stay clean?? Another myth I guess.
We're cleaning out the pool today even though it is still hella cold. We did have that one 80 degree day and he'll need it if it's going to be warm this year!!

Frankie has been outlawed in several cities surrounding our area. It's not simply his breed that is an issue but it seems his size as well. And I completely get it really especially where kids are concerned but I also hold the owners 100% responsible for putting their pets in those situations. I feel very strongly that my job is to keep not the just keep the public safe but this gorgeous animal that I've adopted as well.
I take this so seriously that I can't take him to his favorite off leash park alone anymore because I can't guarantee his safety against other people or pets. Because I have bad knees and can't run. Can't carry him at 126lbs. So this limits what we can do together but it's for everyone's safety.
Anyway due to the banning of entire breeds I was afraid to license him, afraid they'd come get him. But today I broke down and made it official for better or worse they are my licensed pets; both kity (who belongs to no one but the dog) and Frank. Since I already have an insurance policy pet ryder for 1,000,000 from loyds of london (don't be impressed that's what they offer) and that seems to be the only requirement to own a large or dangerous breed dog, so bring it. this dog is my family and I'll do what i need to make him safe, happy and healthy even if it means moving to a place where they aren't such haters. Really!

When we first got Frankie our cat Lily had a litter of kittens. This one kitten kity hated to be picked up, or touched at all. As a result was quite wild and we didn't think we could really give her to anyone. She was prone to fits and bit us every once in awhile and really our own fault so we were stuck with her.
Lily really was the only one she was close to. Lily had our previous dog sabra and was very down with Frankie when he was a new pup. Kity was a different story she hadn't known sabra but as a dying mean old dog so she didn't take to frankie.
Frank loved lily and played with her often but it was also confusing because kity and lily were identical and often he could not tell which one he had come across until it was too late ; kity let him have every single time they had an encounter.
then one day I noticed that the cat was all over the dog. calling for him, actively looking for him. I suddenly realized that we hadn't seen lily in a few days. That Kity now appeared to be on her own and looking to bond with Frank.
But he remember how mean kity was to him so it did take him a bit to get over that but this kitten has imprinted on him and still is. When he goes with his walker she freaks out going room to room even after I tell her that he's going to be right back.
Shes is also crazy possessive, if your sitting by him on the couch she'll come get between you. Since she is an outside, inside, crazy cat she isn't allowed to sleep in the bed with the people but since that's where frank is she waits until everyone is asleep to sneak in along side him.
The funny thing is when I'm sad I go to youtube and search for dogo puppy and there are lots of dogos with cats. Seems they are not just like cats in temperament but enjoys them as pets as well.
