My name is Frankie. Mom was going to name me Francis or another girlie name, but I just looked like a Frankie so that's my name. My mommie was not looking for a Doxie. Actually she was on her way to the movies, but decided to stop at the local pet shop and as she calls it "molest" the puppies, which means my mommy pets them and hugs them and feels their warm bodies against her face and whatnot. They are so soft and warm she likes to stop by often (sometimes she wonders if the sales people thinks she weird), but she just like animals.
My mommie likes what she calls "baby sized" dogs. Anyway, there I was the only puppy with no other puppies with me! I looked so dignified and was so quiet, mommie asked to take me to the playpen. Now mind you mommie was not going to adopt me. She was just going to get some puppy luv and be on her way.
Well this lady saw me and asked the saleslady how much is that one. Well my mommie hugged me to her chest and thought to herself (over my dead...) anyway, mommie never made it to the movies that day. Daddy came home and there I was sleeping in the bed. I am daddy's favorite. Right now I am with him in the finished basement watching TV, begging for a treat, or maybe snoozing. Sometimes I am upstairs with mommy snoozing behind her in the chair. Can you see me?
Anyway, after the first night mommie would not let me sleep in the bed, lest I completely take over (and I would, you bet) and she made me sleep in the crate. Boy did I scream. Mommie never heard such a tiny dog make such a big sound. She asked the saleslady and she said, yep, Doxies have a big voice alright. Misty the pug always slept in the kitchen, but not a crate because she was not an escape artist like me.
Anyway, mommie won, although sometimes if I am really cute I get to sleep in the bed, but mostly I sleep in a crate in the kitchen. I take my towel and use my nose to wrap it around myself. Having me was like having a baby. I would cry at night and mommie would get up every three hours so I could tee-tee outside and not in the house (Sshhh, you still have to watch me, my bladder is small and every half hour or when I wake up from a nap, I am encouraged to take a teetee break - which I do with one eye on mommie less she walk away and leave me outside!)
Mommie keeps a bell on me, because, well, whenever no one is around there's no telling what I will do - I am very, very smart. Plus mommie has birds and well I want to eat one. I get excited and pant and mommie tells me to get out of the room. I almost got Rocky the parrot once, but mommie was too quick, but one of these days.......Arf!
