Almost Ready.....??

Guess what? Mom got an e-mail saying that I'm almost ready for "Advanced Training"!!! I wonder what that means....but I do know that they are saying something called "recall" will happen in the middle of February. When doggies go to recall, they never come back (unless they're really old and just really happy to be pets) and their people cry lots and lots. Mom thinks that my people will cry even more because I was so difficult that they went through a lot with me. But whatever. I am looking forward to it. The P-Mo is heading to school!!!!!

Guess who's a finalist in the World's Coolest Dog and Cat Show??? That's right. ME. My raiser sent in a picture of me in her friend's purse. Man I was tiny back then! There's no way you could squeeze me into that purse, now!

I'm 1 year old!!

Today I turn one!!! My raiser can't believe it's been so long since I was born. She says it seems like just yesterday I paraded into her life and peed all over the place. I said that wasn't nice, but she said the truth hurts sometimes. Thanks mom.

I have a 3rd home!!!

Well, mom got an e-mail today telling her that after being evaluated by the pros, I'm living in Oregon with a new raiser. Mom doesn't know anything about them, but guesses they either specialize in the tough puppies or are one of the pro trainers. Mom misses me, and says she hopes that my new family'll let her know how I'm doing. Until then, I can cause all the trouble I want. heh heh

So mom WAS right!!!

Mom always thought I was a tough cookie, but wasn't sure if it was "just her" or if I was really that hard. But my mom got this e-mail from her supervisors:

I wasn't sure if you have heard but the behaviors you observed in Pomona only escalated when she went with ____ and ____(my 2nd raiser family). While they enjoyed their time with her and had hoped it would work out, they felt it necessary for _____(my mom's supervisor's supervisor) to observe her as well. The decision was made for Pomona to go down to the Boring campus for evaluation. We will let you know as soon as we know her future placement.

So far, she's definitely been a little spit-fire. We'll definitely be working on that new little growl of hers ~ which showed up right away this morning! ;-) She is a very sweet girl, though. She fell asleep as I sat on the floor with her between my legs on her back this afternoon.

Jumping the Nest

Well, Pomona left today. She's currently with her new raiser family, and I'm sure will do very well with them. She is their 8th puppy to raise with GDB, and I actually have met them several times. Their daughter and I benched together at 4-H State Fair last September. They're very willing to keep in-touch, and I'm excited to hear about them as they whip my little girlie into shape. :D But I'll miss her and her antics. Can't wait 'till I puppy-sit again!!!

Mona's last days at home

It's official--Pomona will be leaving on Saturday. As much as I will miss her, she's a very very tough puppy who will be much happier in a home where they can give her the constant attention and training that she needs. But I'll miss having a guide dog pup around. She'll get lots of love these last few days, and gets to go to school with me tomorrow.

My Last Days Here...

Well, a couple of days ago, mom requested to get me transferred. She says that she loves me a lot, but I'm just too tough for her to handle 24/7 with everything she has going. She's excited to see where I end up, and hopes that my new family will have lots of time and attention to give me. I'm a great doggie, I just want everything my way and complain when it isn't.

Mom said that she wrote my monthly Guide Dog report yesterday. She told her leaders that it's the longest report she's ever written. I think that means I have more problems than any of her other dogs...But I love being me--queen of the house.
