Ahroooo! A day in the life of a Basset...

It's HOT!!!

This week has been the hottest week so far this summer, and let me tell you, my Basset wrinkles are NOT cut out for this! It has been almost 100 degrees every day this week, and it is supposed to stay that way fur a long time! To make things worse, da hoomans hair conditioner just broke... so it is also hot in da house. So's all 6 of us pups and our hoomans are sleeping in da living room. Da hoomans gots a little hair conditioner dat they put in da living room and it is cool in der. I tried ta tell mommy ta just go ta petsmart and get a new hair conditioner... but da hoomans say dat it is gonna cost a lot of money to get it fixed... couldn't day take it to a low cost clinic? Hoomans make things to complicated...Day shuld let da dogs run things fur a while.

Dear Santa Paws,

It's me Gracie! I've been a very good girl this year, as always. I'm sorry I got dat squirrel Santa Paws... but he was on my patio!! (RIP Mr. Squirrel ) I'm also sorry dat I stepped on Hunter's ear... I didn't mean to Santa Paws... really! I've been nice to my sisfur and brofurs and I have torn up any of mommy's stuff!! Pawlease Santa... I would like...

1. Bully Sticks... and lots of dem
2. Squeaky stuffies
3. A new collar
4. A new jacket
5. A big new bed to sleep on
6. and homes fur all da homeless doggies and kitties.

Happy Halloween Everyfur!! It's been a while since I wrote in my Diary! I've had a busy few months!!! FIrst we went on vacation in June and had a PAWSOME time!! We went in to the mountains and played in a mountain stream... well... actually, I fell in a mountain stream... :) Me and mommy were crossing over some rocks and I walk off the rock and didn't know that the water was that deep!! IT WAS NOT FUNNY! :0 Then on July 14, Me and my Sister and Brother had our 3rd woofday pawty!! Mommy cooked us spaghetti and meatballs and a GIANT cake! It was PAWSOME!! Then... a month ago... my humans left and came back with HUNTER!! He is our new baby brother!! He is cute, but he dwives me NUTS!! He likes to bite my ears and my tail... I tell him no... but he doesn't listen.. THAT LITTLE FELLA HAS BIG EARS!!! I thoughts I had big ears.... but Hunter's ears are about 12 inches LONG!! and he is only 8 inches tall!!! Poor Little Guy!!

Howloween is coming up and Tuesday we are going to the PetsMart Howloween pawty... I'm going as a LOBSTER!! :o Humans never cease to amaze me!!

We're on Vacation!

Were yeaving for tennessee dis mrning! Da humans are packing and wunning around yike chickens wit dere heads cut off... so it yooks yike TENNESSEE HEAR WE COME!!! We'll be back in five days to tell eberyone about it!! Until Din! Ahrooooooooooooooooooooooo!

We are going to Tennessee!!!!

I found out a week ago dat me, my sister, my brudder, my mommy, my daddy, and my furless sisters are going to Gatwinburg, TN!!!! We are yeaving on Sunday, July 6 and I can't bewieve dey are taking us! Dey haven't been on vacation since we came into deir yives... and now... dey are... and WE GETS TO GO!!! I don't weally know what Tennessee is... but it has to be pawsome! Me tinks dat me is gonna get to pee on a mountain!!! Dat wood be pawsome!!! And me is also going to hunt a bear!! Dat bein if mommy will yet me off my durn yeash...Her says dat her can't twust us cuz when our sniffers turn on, our brains turn off! Me not tinks dat dat is completely true... :( I wonder wut a Tennesse Sqwirrel yooks yike? :0 We also get to sleep in someting called a hotel... My don't know what dat is... but it sounds fun!!! Dey has continental bweakfast... so me told mommy "good luck getting us to eat our Dog food! :) Me weally can't wait! Me tinks it is gonna be da funnest five days of my entire yife!!! My woofday is comin' up soon too... so maybe mommy will get us our birfday pwesents while we are der!!! Well's I's gots to go dig up my stuff so's dat I can pack it! We are yeaving in 10 day!!!!

Squirrel... Where

My name is Gracie Elmore and I yam a squirreloholic. Yes... I admits it. I yam addicted to squirrels. Win I see dem... I start to dwool and I can't tink about anyting else. It is sumting about dem dat I just weally wuv. My favorite pwace to go to da pawk. Der are yike 100 million squirrels der evewyday! Mommy say dat "I can yook but not touch!" but me tinks dat I need to yook and den touch! Her just doesn't undewstand dat I NEED to catch a squirrelly. Dey just yook so yummy! I yalso yike wats and mice. Dey are weally fun to catch... I have alweady caught yike 2 mice and one wat in da back yawd! But mommy always takes dem away fwom me so's I have to go yook for more. I onwy wish her new dat maybe I wanted to pway with dat... and dat her shouldn't take dem away. Her is gwad dat me catches dem, but I just wish I could pway with dem. Bugs are yalso fun... and mommy doesn't take dem away unyes day are "bad" bugs. wut is a bad bug? I guess it is a bug dat makes sister blow up yike a bawoon! :) Well I guess dat I better go cuz I got stuff ta do, and I might be able to convice mommy to take me to da PetsMart yater on taday!

Dear Diary...

Well today I went to PetsMart in my new coat from Old Navy! People seem to think it is so cute when they see three basset hounds prancing through the store in coats... Well... all I have to say is.... Its Cold Out Side! Why WOULDN"T we wear a coat? Any ways we sure did get a lot of attention... My boyfriend... Claude the Weimeraner who lives behind us... keeps running away... I guess he jumps his fence... but he usually stay gone for a whole night! It really worries me and my mommy... It worries me cause I thinks he may have another girlfriend somewhere's else... #%@#%... He better not cause I am the only girl for him... mommy says he's not interested in me but I know he is cuz sometimes he lifts his leg and potty's on me through the fence and I knows that that is a sure sign that he likes me! Bol... Mommy hates when he does that! I just love Weimerainers... they are so hot! My mommy's friend ms betty has a Weimerainer neighbor too! I like to look at him when I go to visit her house... Such Eye Candy! BOL... I try to tell mommy that I want a Weimeraner but she doesn't seem to take the hint! Well I better go catch some zzzz's! AHROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Santa Paws and all that stuff...

Today me and my brother and sister go to see Santa Claws... now don't get me wrong... I love Santa... it's just I really really really want to play with that big white fuzzy thing tied to his face! Also... they say that he comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve and leaves stuff in our house... well, I am not too sure about that! It seems to me that if somebody breaks into my house I migh just have to bark at them! So... I really hope that my people tell him to send our presents in the mail... well, maybe I'm worrying about nothin' this is my third Christmas, but the last to years I was just a puppy and didn't really know what was going on! Well as long as he brings me plenty of PRESENTS! Christmas is fun and all, but I really don't understand what all the commotion is about! First, my people, grow a tree in there living room... next they put lights up all over the place, and worst of all they cook a HUGE meal and won't let me join them at the table when it comes time to eat it!!! Sure we may get a few bites of the turkey, but you'd think that they'd let me sit at the table and help myself! Well that's enough complaining... Christmas is in 17 days so I better start being a good girl so I wont get coal in my stocking!
