Likes:
Daisy LOVES going for walks. Every time the leash comes out, she comes running with her tail wagging away.

Pet-Peeves:
She doesn't like her ears being messed with, although she lets me.

Favorite Toy:
No toy lasts her more than about an hour! She loves squeeky toys, but doesn't like Kongs or balls or anything like that.

Favorite Walk:
Daisy loves going for walks on the beach. She is a dachshund, so she feels she needs to roll in dead fish and other nasty things on the beach. She even rolled on a huge, dead turtle once.

Arrival Story:
I had been wanting a dog for some time, and my brother told me about a lady that ran a puppy mill that had dachshunds and she was going to euthanize some of them because she didn't want to breed them any more. I went there and it was pretty bad. The lady had about sixty dachshund, some miniature schnauzers and poodles and a 250 lb. rottweiler. I asked her what dogs she was going to euthanize and she showed me about eight. I saw Daisy, her name was Honey then, and she stole my heart. She was in the back of an outdoor pen, in the Texas heat, not barking, not even moving and I asked to see her. When I held her, her tail started wagging slightly. I knew then I had to save her, so I rescued her from being euthanized. I felt so terrible for the other dogs that I couldn't rescue. I believe that all puppy mills should be shut down and all dogs given a good chance at life, that's why I rescued Daisy. I didn't pay a penny for her, but to me, she's priceless.

Bio:
Daisy is different from any dachshund I've ever met. The ONLY time she barks is when someone knocks on the door and she is VERY calm and sweet, although she doesn't really like men because I believe she was abused by a man before I got her. She is very smart, although she is equally stubborn (typical dachshund!) and she was fairly easy to train and even housebreak!
