The sorrows of a dog trapped in suburbia.

Part 2 of suburbian hell...

Well. My mother thought the dog park would be fun today. Why, I have no idea. Yes, that's what I would love to do, go to the dog park and get slimed (drooled on) by 5 different dogs... At least at home it's just Max... Xena dosen't drool. Yet. Well, anyways, when I left off last I said I would tell you how Max and Xena came to live in my house, so here is the quick overview.

My Mom and my new Dad bought a pretty big house in December '05. My mom has a thing for animals, and had a rescued cat in addition to me, but loves having lots of animals around the house. My Dad wanted a "tough" dog. After several months of research, they decided that a Boxer would be the perfect addition. Tough in appearance, but with a friendly personality. (They were also not banned from our homeowner's insurance!) They tried to find a Boxer rescue, but the rescue locally did not have any dogs, and the others my Mom found would not adopt out of state. So, they began looking for breeders. They found a really nice lady who loves her dogs and breeds about once a year. They brought Max home in July 2006. About a year later, for some stupid reason, they thought Max needed a friend since I hate playing with other dogs, and decided to contact Max's " birth grandmother" for a female puppy. (Mom thought there might be too many males in the house.... ;) ) Xena was born in July and came home at the end of September of this year. Life officially now sucks.

I never have any peace. And whenever I let the other two know how I feel, I get told to be quiet. I hate that word. Quiet. Now, Why can't I bark whenever I want? Who cares if it is one in the morning? If I can't sleep, neither should anyone else. Well, that said, back to the events of today:

Mom thought it would be a great idea to have Xena's first trip to the dog park since she finished her shots yesterday. I like the dog park as long as it is not crowded and I can be left alone. Sometimes there are a bunch of dogs that like to bother me, and I just want to go and mark my spots... That said, when we got there it was perfect, no one to bother me at all! Max and Xena were playing and then this gentleman with a Saint Bernard came in. She was a nice, older dog like myself and we got along great. (In truth, I was about the size of her head, but still, it was nice to be with someone who is like-minded.) Xena, of course, thought that we must want her around. The Saint was lying down and wagging her rather long tail and Xena thought it was a great game to try and catch it as it wagged. I must say, the other dog had much more patience than I normally do... We just stayed a short time today, about thirty minutes, since it was Xena's first trip, but it was rather pleasant, I geuss. No obnoxious dogs today.

On that note, I am going to take a nap. Good night.
