Likes:
stalking squirrels.. teasing my 2 cats. Her buddy Durango, a rat terrier. Riding in the car. Me!

Pet-Peeves:
when I stay at work overtime

Favorite Toy:
She doesn't really play with toys but loves her boyfriend when they visit her... Durango, a rat terrier, and Hummer, a black lab!

Favorite Food:
ALPO. And she does like raw meat. a couple raw eggs a week. One time my ranch friend Truvey(who lives on a ranch) brought a fresh deer leg. Diamond worked on it for a few days! What a treat! After all, she was wild when I found her.

Favorite Walk:
the block

Best Tricks:
diamond runs around her big back yard and play stalks my chickens who are usually cooped. She tries to "stalk, advance and charge" the poor birds. Loves to chase squirrels. At night she gets up on the bed to give me a quick kiss but sleeps on the floor.

Arrival Story:
wow ! On April 30 2003 I saw a brahma bull in a small field off a country road here in S. Texas. I am an artist, & wanted to take photos of this bull. I was so intent on my picture taking but suddenly I was distracted by a nearby movement. I looked down into the roadside grass and saw a very intent, quiet, and friendly dog was looking up at me ! She had amazing pale blue eyes and reminded me of a husky. In my life, I had never considered adopting a dog but this dog was special, she had FOUND ME! Since I live alone on a large corner I thought how nice it would be to have this pretty dog as protection and as a companion! I immediately took her to a vet and got her spayed and checked out. The vet says that Diamond is definiely 50% coyote and her food prints are oval, like a coyote. She is a COYDOG. She has been a good companion....very sweet, & she has an "beta" personality. When she first settled in, she tore up my house for 4 months and then started domesticating. Diamond barks when there are other dogs and when the door bell rings. She get along with all persons and dogs, as well as my 2 cats. At first she used to catch squirrels in the back yard because she was a "surivor" but now she just stalks them and pretends to stalk the chickens who I have in a coop. Diamond is a good, beautiful and sweet animal. People are knocked out my her pale blue piercing eyes and many are 'afraid" of her :) One guy usesd to call her "voodoo dog" ......Whatever I hear about coydogs being vicious or dangerous is not true in Diamond's case. When I wake in the morning Diamond welcomes me with a kiss & little "howls" and also when I come home from work. I cannot imagine my life without her. She is a true gift.

Bio:
I raise chickens for fresh eggs and sell them; Diamond used to kill my chickens.... or rather, catch one, play with it and in some cases, it would die of shock. I still don't trust her alone in the yard. However, over time she has learned to respect me and when we are both in the yard (and the chickens are free ranging) she will not 'attack"... However she can be sneaky (wily coyote)! and I have to keep and eye on her. She has never broken into the coop as it is secure. Also, I am an artist and have done many drawings of Diamond which I will post over time

Forums Motto:
diamond coyote!
