Mom says I don't have any bladder control lately? Personally, I think that is her fault for letting me lay on the bed where I get really comfortable and sleep and dream! Hey, I am not complaining though.
She does cover up a lot for me. She doesn't want dad to know that I am making mistakes around the house. They aren't huge ones though. Just dribbles here and there. Believe me, I do try to clean them up by myself before any one notices.
Mom also started feeding me salmon with Omega-3. So far so good with my skin. I do seem to be itching a lot less. I know the baths with a special conditioner helps and so does putting wraps on my legs so I don't chew on them so much.
We are all settling in tonight because it is freezing outside, but also because the Westminster Dog Kennel Dog Show is on at 8:00 ET. Mom likes to see all the different kinds of breeds. So does Maya, she just sits in front of the big screen and stares at the dogs. Boy, what a big puppy . . . not grown up like me whatsoever! I get the nice, soft blanket right at mom's feet!

Just a bark to let you know that the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will be this Monday, February 11th and Tuesday the 12th. One of Maya's step brothers won Best in Breed last year! This year BIS BISS Hallam's Bekenkhons Ra Qena a/k/a Beck is also trying for Best in Breed and hopefully Best in Show. We wish the best for Beck, because he lost his mother, Qena, this past January.

Good luck to all the dog Breeds out there!

Okay, h-mom isn't married quite yet. She did receive an engagement ring though over Christmas. She met dad over eight years ago. I had another mom back before than, but she passed away from cancer. My h-mom knows she was a great person, because I turned out to be the best Doberman ever!
By the way, h-mom was married before too. He was and is still a great guy too. Mom says that people just change and go different ways. I guess as a dog, we are stuck with what we have as far as our "married" family. I am so glad that I have a good human family!!
Where am I going from here? Well, I am snoring like a big dog while mom is typing for me. Funny thing though, mom put me in Maya's bed on the floor last night where I fell asleep (like tonight) and I began snoring. Mom woke up around 2:00 a.m. H-dad was asleep next to her, snoring. Maya, spooning her on the other side, snoring. There was nothing she could get out of the snoring as far as a rythm . . . nothing like 1 sheep, 2 sheep . . . 99 bottles of beer on the wall . . . hush little baby don't you cry . . .
3:00, I barked at h-mom, and she helped me on the bed where I snuggled in next to Maya, h-mom and h-dad, and was happy as could be!

Drake is wearing a cone right now due to his new stiches and infection. Whether I like it or not, Drake's mom told my mom about a collar that stops us from chewing on ourselves. Mom had to run out and order one today at www.bitenot.com. I have to admit, it does look a lot prettier than a cone, and maybe I will stop chewing on my skin and leaving blood all over the house! It happens every winter, and I am just miserable. We don't know if it is allergies or just dry skin. Also, mom told me it will make me look like an exotic dog!! I'll play along with her, just so she doesn't feel so guilty for sticking this 6 inch collar on my neck.

Drake isn't feeling too good and is at the vet's office for observation. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is such a young pup to have to be worrying about being sick. His h-mom is also sad, so please send her messages of encouragement!

Uhmmmph, h-mom only put up one picture of me and about three of Maya. What is up with that? PLUS, she has made all these promises to Maya, but only promised me treats and cheese!
I could, of course, protest by not eating my food. Wow, what a bad thought . . . I love to eat, so that isn't a good way to protest!
Mom also said I have to have a bath this weekend?! Maya doesn't have to have one, but I do?? What is wrong with this picture? Sure, I have some funky skin condition that causes me to itch, scratch and shed layers of dryness, but why should I have to have a bath and not Maya?
That, and why can't I go to the dog park? Okay, maybe I am getting a little grouchy when other dogs come up and bump into me. I will try to be better?!
Come on, WHERE is the LOVE?

What are you doing tomorrow? Sleeping! I am 14 years old and need all the beauty sleep I can get!
What is annoying you right now? The fact that my human mom left me in the basement. Yeah, it is heated, and I have my own couch down here, but I like to sleep on my mom’s bed.
What are you doing tonight? Celebrating my h-dad’s 40th birthday. It is his birthday, but I am sure I will get a treat, just because!
Do you have any interesting bruises or scars? No scars or bruises. I do have a torn Achilles tendon that was never fixed, as the vet said I was a little too old to get it fixed and I don’t show any pain with it. I do have hip dysplasia (Wobbler’s) though known to most Dobermans. Also itch, itch, and itch until I bleed. Oh, and I almost forgot I am blind in one eye!! I can still catch cheese just as good as Maya though.
What did you last eat? Cheese!!
What is your biggest pet peeve? Maya getting any where near food. I am the Alpha, and I get to eat first!
How did you meet your h-mom or dad? My h-dad had a dog that was hit by a car while trying to cross the street to get to him. One of the neighbors several days later brought me over to cheer him up. I was with h-dad for 6 years until h-mom came along. She gives me a lot more treats than my h-dad!!
Do you get along with guys or girls better? No preference! Who ever wants to rub my hips is my best friend! I don’t like any one to hit my blind eye though. It is very sensitive to the touch.
What are the last spoken words you heard? When mommy left this morning. “Be good girlies. I love you both very much. I’ll be home real soon”.
Name six things you did yesterday? Slept, slept, ate, played with Maya and hu-mom, ate cheese.
Thanks Drake for letting me steal this from your diary page!!

Our good friend, Nubby Puppy, posted a diary entry where she lists a bunch of interesting facts about herself. It sounds similar to "tag" that has been passed around here for awhile, except there is no pressure to pass it on.
5 jobs that I've had:
* Keep Maya in line
* Guarding food so Maya cannot eat it
* Bone hider
* Digger
* Keep hu-mommy happy
2 places I've lived:
* Des Moines, Iowa
* Ankeny, Iowa
4 places I've been:
* My human mom's dad's house
* My human mom's dad's cabin on a river where I run free!
* Dog park
* All over the Des Moines area with my human mom when she runs quick
errands. I love the family large Dodge Ram van!
4 favorite foods:
* Cheese
* Treats
* Left overs
* Iams covered with Creamy Chicken by Campbell's
3 places I would rather be:
* Cuddling with Maya
* Cuddling with mom
* Laying on a blanket at mom's feet
