Arrival Story:
Went to the animal shelter on Valentines Day 2004 "just to look." Charlie said, "I am your dog, what is there to think about?" It was love at first sight.
Bio:
Charlie is very unhappy about the ordinance in Boston requiring pit-bull owners to muzzle their pets. It also requires that I pay $50 for his license while others pay $6 for theirs, and that I send picture of him and of me (!) to put in his file every year. Owners of other dogs do not have to meet this photo requirement.
DNA:
Charlie Ashmont was classified as a pit bull when adopted, but recently, because we have the technology, he was DNA tested. He turned out to be something else entirely - a soup of many breeds. He considers himself an honorary pit bull, and urges all who love any kind of dog to fight the fight against breed-specific legislation.
Despite scientific evidence that claims otherwise, Charlie is still considered at pit bull under the definition of the Boston ordinance, which says, essentially, if someone thinks it looks like a pit bull, it is a pit bull.
