Wow, what a weekend!!

I had such a fun weekend!! My Aunt Lesley crashed at my place for the weekend, I even let her sleep on my couch with me. Saturday we just hung out and watched some movies. Her & Momma had ice cream and of course I got to lick out the containers. I try real hard to be patient because when I see those Ben & Jerry's ice cream containers I know that I'm gonna get to lick them clean. Momma says that I do such a good job that we could send them back to B&J's to use again. Momma got a new camera so check out the pics! That's my Aunt Lesley and me on the couch, I was getting belly rubs !! Yeah for Aunt Lesley!!

Sunday was even more exciting, but momma kicked herself in the butt cause she forgot the new camera and we could have had some cool shots. Anyway, we went to visit a friend of ours who has a few acres out in the country. I got to meet a horse and a pony. At first I was a little nervouse cause they were ssssooo big. But then we gave each other sniffies and it was cool. They let me in their big play pen and I hung out with them for awhile.

Then my day got real busy. There were some other people there and they had their 2 beagle doggies. They were both older than me, so that's like real old, but we played and sniffed around a bit. Then the kiddies came out 2 play. Two little boys (5&7) and right after they came out, the food came out!! Oh my Dog. I got all kinds of goodies; hot dogs, crackers w/cheese, strawberries, chips, chicken (no bones momma said)!!

It was nice to be out in the country, smelling all the smells and chasing butterflies. I was so exhausted when we finally got home that I didn't even eat dinner, not that there was room for it. Well, I'm gonna go for now, I hope that all you city hounds get to take a trip to the country like I did, it's so much fun!!

Road Trip

Oh boy am I a tired pooch. Momma and I went on a road trip to Aunt Lesley's house!! I love my Aunt Lesley, she's my favorite person in the whole world except for my momma, and my Aunt Mira!
At first I thought momma was gonna go by herself. I know that when she starts packing stuff like her toothbrush that I might have to go and stay at Aunt Mira's house for a day or two. Aunt Mira is momma's sister and I like going over there cause I get to play with my furfriends Zeke and Mopsey. But, I really miss momma and I cry ALOT and wait anxiously by the door for her to come back and get me.
So, imagine my excitement when momma picked up my food and water bowl, bagged up some kibble and cookies and threw them all in her bag of stuff!! Whoopeee, we're going on a road trip! Who were we going to visit? Gramma and Gramps? Auntie Pam or Aunt Lesley......Hhhmmmmm? It doesn't matter really, I get to go on a roadtrip!!
We got loaded up in the super basset mobile (momma's van) and off we went. Momma had the windows down because it was a beautiful day and I sniffed the wind the whole way there!! Eventually we wound up at Aunt Lesley's house I was super excited to see her. We went for a walk right away and I went and did all my business then we went inside and as soon as momma and Lesley weren't looking, I marked my spot!!
Momma was sssoooo mad at me, and emberassed to cause I don't usually P on the floor. But I had to make sure that everybody who comes there knows that that is MY house and MY Aunt Lesley. I blew my chances of a doggie bag from dinner for sure. But later that night I got to snuggle on the couch and got lots of belly rubs. No one can stay mad at me for long, I'm just to damn cute!!
The next day I went for a walk/run with Aunt Lesley. We saw a bunch of little 2-leggers, they gave me lots of pets and cuddles and I licked them clean of all their sticky goodness. When we got back, the girls went to see a movie and I got to take a nap on the couch. Eventuially they came home and momma packed up our stuff and we drove home!!
I love road trips, but I'm tired so I'm gonna go take another nap now. See ya Aaaarrroooooooo!!!

I'm a Bad Dawg!!

Well I had super fun today, but momma is sooo mad at me!!
She knew as soon as she got home that I had been bad, she has like Spidey Sense when it comes to that sort of thing. She just KNOWS!! Want to know what I did? Huhn? Huhn? Do ya do ya?? BOL!! I got in the kitchen garbage!!
Whooppee!! Man oh man did I have fun. Momma had just cleaned out the fridge of "leftovers" so there were all kinds of goodies in there. I tried to be good but with my super sniffer nose I could smell it all day, just enticing me until I couldn't stand it any longer! I did what I had to do to maintain my sanity!
There was some old roast beef in there and some cherry jello! Oh and a chicken carcass that was pretty picked clean of meat but the bones were yummy! Then I found some taco bell stuff that wasn't finished. All in all it was a pretty good haul, of course momma didn't feed me my dinner, that kind of made me mad, I mean, really, just because I stuffed myself to the gills with garbage doesn't mean that I can't find just a little bit more room for dinner. I am a Basset after all and we ALWAYS have room for more food!!
Well, I'm gonna go for now, I'm being "punished", momma is giving me the cold shoulder, no belly rubs or snuggles, she won't even let me up on the bed!! What's up with that, doesn't she realize that I have a BAD tummy ache and need some lovies?

p.s. Momma said that she is worried about me eating all those chicken bones, and that bassets are prone to torsion (tummy twisting) so she is keeping a close eye on me even though she is mad at me!!

X-Mas Parade

I was sleeping in, as usual, when Momma came into the room and woke me up. I was perfectly content all snuggled up under the covers but Nnnnoooo, Momma dragged my sleepy hound butt outa bed at the unbelievable time of like 11:00 am. At first I was kind of irritated with her but then she got out the leash and all was fogiven because I knew we were going for a walky.
At first I was confused because we only went out to the front yard and there were all kinds of people lined up along the road way. Then I heard some REALLY LOUD whoo whoo noises and I saw a big truck with flashy lights and that's what was making all the noise. Then there were a bunch of people walking in lines, singing songs and playing music. Momma finally told me that it was the X-Mas parade and it was coming right down our street and that I better be good cause Santa Paws would be in it and he'd be looking for me to see if I was being naughty or nice.
It was a really long parade. I got to see some big 4 leggers that went clippity clop when they walked. Lots of 2 leggers, big ones and little ones, stopped to give me pets and admire my pretty X-Mas collar with the bells on it. By the time Santa Paws finally got here I was a real tired puppy. He looked so important on his big throne and he had on his best red suit. I was being a perfect little angel when he went by. I swear that he looked righ at me and winked!! I can't wait till X-Mas morning, I just know that Santa Paws saw me being good and that I will get lots of treats under the tree this year!

The Good The Bad & The Ugly

Wow, what a super day I had!! It started out good, turned totally sucky then got pawsome and got sucky all over again!!
First, when I woke up, it was still cold out, like 50 degrees, which is cold for a Florida hound. So I got under the covers with my momma and got some super snuggle time in!! That was totally cool.
Then my day started to suck. Momma made me take a bath. I tried to get away from her but I learned from past experience not to try to hard or she just gets pissed but I have to at least make an effort to avoid the dreaded bath!! I must admit though that I do like getting dried off, it's like a total body rub down!!
Then momma got her bath, that gave me time to rub all over the carpet and try to get some stink back on me.
Then we went for a car ride. It was a pretty long car ride to and it was to someplace new. I like new places, lots of stuff to sniff. Momma said we were going to her old work place to get her last check cause she got laid off. She sounded bummed about it, which I don't understand because I thought getting laid was a good thing, apparently not! Anyway, I got to meet momma's old work people, which was cool cause they gave her hugs and me pets!!
Then, wow, I can't believe I still have more to tell, I was a busy hound dog today. So, after that we went to the pet store, that was cool, I'd never been to this one before. My poor little nose is worn out from all the sniffing. I met some paw friends and some cool 2 leggers. Then it was time to head home. Whew, what a day!!
One last stop, it's kinda like a drive thru but you don't usally get food. Momma put some stuff in this little tube, then put the little tube inside this long tube and the long tube sucked the little tube right up. I was real worried at first cause that poor little tube didn't stand a chance against the big sucky one. anyway, after a couple minutes the long tube spit the little tube back out. That was a relief let me tell you!! When momma opened up the little tube I got a big surprise, a Cookie, just for me!! I like this tube thingy. I tried to tell momma that we need one for the house but I don't think she understood.
Anyway, it was such a long exciting day that right after I ate that cookie I puked it right back up. Oh my poor tummy hurt from all the excitement. Momma doesn't get made at me for stuff like that, I looked so pathetic, she felt bad for me.
Well, that was my day, The Good The Bad and the Ugly!!

Party at Aunt Mira's house!!

Aaarroooo!! Whooppee, I got to go to my Aunt Mira and Uncle Ed's house this weekend. Momma says she goes over there so I can have extra play time but I know that she really goes over there to do our laundry. I have lots of bandanas that need washing and of course my cow needs a bath once in awhile, although I can't wait to get it properly stinkafied afterwards. Anyway, I got to play with my two buddies Mopsey and Zeke. Mopsey is an old English Sheepdog, she doesn't really know how to play but she tries real hard and she's awful good at herding Zeke and I if we get out of hand. Zeke is my best buddy, he loves me ALOT, and that's ok even though he's got no you know whats!! Zeke's a mutt that followed Aunt Mira and Uncle Ed home one day, I've known him since he was just a little pup and we LOVE to wrestle. The only bad part of the day was that Uncle Ed wasn't home. He has the world's best lap, I luv sitting on Mr.Ed's lap it's sssooo comfy cozy. Well, that's all for now, I'm gonna go take a nap. I hope that Uncle Ed will be home next time I visit, I need some quality lap time!! Aaarrrooooooooo!!

Don't you just hate it when you get a song stuck in your head!! My momma made up a song about me and she has been singing it alot, now it's stuck in my head and I can't get it out. If I share it with you, maybe it will get stuck in your head to and then I will be blessed free of it!
