GREAT NEWS! ALL OF OUR PRAYING WORKED! Thank you so much everypup for all of your kind support for Abby!

Abby came home today with an almost perfect recovery! She's a little shaken up from the vet's office, but besides that she's doing wonderfully! Abby will always have her Lyme's Disease, but now it's under control. She's walking fine again, no limp, and no vomit! Abby also lost 4 pounds, which she desperatly needed to lose! BOL, she was 7 pounds overweight! Also, the had to shave Abby's front 'wrists' right above her paws. Now it looks like Abby has bracelets like Wonder Woman! BOL!

I couldn't be happier right now!

This is Abby's mom, Jenna. Today we brought Abby to the vet and we left her there. We will be picking her up Monday morning. The doctors want to give some injections, an IV, do more x-rays. She will go on a special dog food blend and will be carefully watched. The vets aren't sure what caused her vomit 25 times in one day. All they know is that this is highly unusual. They think that something may be wrong with her intestions. They also think that maybe switching back and forth on medication and shots may have caused her stomach to upset.

I'm scared out of my mind right now. I'm so worried for Abby Girl, and I just pray that the doctors can find a cure for her. It was the worst feeling, leaving her there. But I know it's for the best. The house feels so empty without her.

For now all I can do is pray and wait. The vets will be calling us with updates twice a day.

Walking Better, but Getting Sicker

While my birthday yesterday was wonderful, today is not going as well.

I've thrown-up about 15 times today, so far. Jenna's mom called the vet again and I have an appointment for 3:45 pm EST. I haven't had any food or water since last night, the vet told me I'm not allowed to eat or drink until after my appointment. This is really bothering me because I'm HUNGRY! And since there is nothing in my stomach to throw-up, I keep vomiting bile. It's awful...

On a brighter side, my limp is almost completely gone! But if this new medication is going to cause me to vomit, we're going to have to find another medication. And that new medication may not work as well as this med. We're all worried, but I'm sure everything will work out okay.

Licks& Woofs,
Abby

A Bright Future!

GOOD NEWS!!! Abby doesn't have kidney failure, and her disease most probably wont be fatal. At the vet Abby got a steroid shot and new medication. She had a fever at the vet's office, too. Abby is now on Amoxicillian. The vet doesn't know exactly why Abby didn't react well with the Doxycycline. The vet thinks that Abby will be walking better by Thursday. I hope so! The vet also said that Abby's Lyme's Disease may not be the only thing causing her to limp. He thinks that Abby had already had some joint problems from birth and the Lyme's Disease aggravated the joint problems. She may also have an auto-immune deficiency, which is not allowing her to react to medication. If Abby isn't looking better by Thursday, we'll bring her back to the vet and they'll run more blood work and x-rays. The vet said that her future looked bright and clear with maybe a few bumps along the way.

I'm just so happy that Abby is most likely going to be okay! I was crying while I waited for her to get back from the vet's, but now I know that she's going to be all right! Thank you so much for your love and support everypup!

Just Getting Worse...

This is Abby's mom talking. Abby will be going in today for an emergancy vet visit at 6:45 pm EST. With Abby's new medication, we thought she was getting better. The first few days with the pills seemed to help her slightly. We were told by our vet that in 4 days time Abby would be back to normal. She has only gotten worse. It's been about 2 weeks since Abby's last vet visit and she was scheduled for a check up next week. My mom called the vet today because Abby is in such pain and we can't stand to see her like this. She can barely walk and it's a horrific sight to try and watch her get up. Her front right back slips alot and she falls. Her back left leg slips too, and she loses her balance. Abby is only almost two! Her birthday is this Thursday! She shouldn't be sick like this! My mom and I are so worried about the news the vet is going to give us today. My mom is afraid that Abby will never be able to go for a jog with me again. She may never walk straight again... I will keep you all updated with Abby's condition. My prayers go out to all dogs and their owners who must deal with this terrible Lyme's Disease. God bless you!

The Worried Dog Owner,
Jenna

Last night after I ate dinner I was lounging around with my family in the living room. With my lymes, I'm not supposed to romp around too much. So for the past week I have strictly listened to my vet, I have only slept and limped around a little. Mommy hates seeing me so tired all the time, and I was starting to get very bored last night. I got up, grabbed my rubber tug-of-war toy, and walked the toy over to mom. She figured a little bit of play wouldn't hurt me, so we played around the living room for a few minutes. Mom made sure she was careful with me and put the toy away when I started to get too rowdy. After that, I went in the hallway and mom found me throwing up. Mom cleaned up the vomit and I went to the kitchen to get a drink of water.

I guess I'm still not back to normal yet. =( Also, I finished off my anti-inflammatory medicine. Now I just have a month of antibiotics left!

Well, that's some bad news and some good news. Hopefully, soon, the good news will start to out-weigh the bad. ;)

Feeling A Little Bit Better

Everyday I'm feeling a little bit better with my medication that the vet perscribed to me. I'm taking Doxycycline as my antibiotic for the lyme's disease and Rimadyl to help the pain in my joints. My limp has gotten better, but when I first wake up in the morning and right before I go to sleep, my limp is at its worst. Jenna says that I definitly seem more lively and happy, which I have to agree with. But for right now, my favorite thing to do is still just to rest and relax.

Also, thank you to all of the pups who are supporting me through lyme's disease! Doggy hugs to all of you!

Lyme's Disease...

Well, it had been a week since my last vet appointment and I was feeling worse than ever. I couldn't walk and I didn't want to go outside to go potty. Jenna and her mom were very concerned for me, so they set up an emergency vet appointment for me. At the vet's office, my vet took some x-rays and did some blood work. I was too tired and weak to even be scared. Then my vet brought me to Jenna and her mom and talked to them for a good 10 minutes. I heard something about Lyme's Disease... The vet said that Lyme's Disease is caused by a tick bite, but Jenna's mom hasn't found a tick on me since last year! Jenna and her mom were so upset, but I don't get why. The vet said that I'll be okay soon! Now I have to take two pills every morning and night for two months. As the vet was talking, Jenna started to cry. I wanted to lick her tears away, but I was too weak. But the good news is, Jenna gave me two of my pills yesterday and I'm feeling better already! The vet said that by the end of the weak I should be back to normal, which sounds great to me!

A Day at the Vets

Last week Mommy noticed that I'd been limping, so she didn't walk me all week. She had hoped that my limp would get better over the week, but it didn't. Today Mommy made an appointment for me to see the vet. Mommy told that I was very good at the vet's office. I didn't bark or growl, I just sat in her lap peacefully. When the vet looked at me, she told Mommy that I had some soft tissue between my bones in my shoulder. Nothing serious, the vet said that it very common in dogs. Now I have to take a pill every morning and night for one week. Not too bad, and I'm feeling better already!

Today Mommy took me on two hour-and-a-half long walks. We also played fetch outside and ran around for a while. Once I was pooped, we came inside but didn't stay in long. Mommy's mom said that Mommy's friends had just walked by with their new beagle puppy, Bo. So we ran back outside and found Bo and his Mommies up the street. I was a little annoyed by Bo at first, but then I started to play with him! We romped around, rolled, smelled, barked, and ran around. I had so much fun! Since Mommy's friend only live down the block, I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of Bo real soon. Yippee!

Where's the snow? Is it hiding? Marco? Where's the polo?!?! We've only had barely an inch all year! Oh, well. I guess there's still Spring to look forward to then. : (

Happy almost Valentine's Day to everypup! : D

Also, I have great news! Mommy's friend got a cute little beagle puppy today! He's a male and his name is Bo! I haven't met him yet, but I'm sure I will soon. Bo's mommy says she's going to make him a Dogster page, so I can't wait to see it! Oooh! I'm so excited about my new puppy friend! He's only a few months old!

It's Been How Long?!?!

Oh my dog! I haven't been on Dogster in ages! It's been months! I misss all of my old friends soooo much!

Jenna (a.k.a Mommy) started school in September and then soccer started. Next came the holidays, and now she's doing basketball. Her schedule is so busy that it could make anypup's head spin! Any free time she has from her friends and sports is spent with me, which has left no time at all for Dogster! Jenna going to try to get on a bit more so that I can say hello to my friends and keept up with the Dogster news. Thank goodness!

Also, great news! I'm doing much better on my walks with Jenna. I used to pull on the leash and growl at dogs that passed by, but with the help of a friend's dog trainer, I'm doing wonderfully! It's not my fault that I wanted to drag Jenna down the street, I thought it'd be fun for her! And those dogs that walked by kept giving me dirty looks... They must have been jealous of my beautiful brindle fur!

I can't believe it! Our little town has only gotten one snow flurry this year! Where's the snow storms with 2 feet of snow that were used to? Luckly, the guy on TV who tells us about the weather says we should get at least 3 inches of snow tonight. That's not much, but it may be enough for Jenna to have no school. Then we can play in the snow all day long! I might hate water, but I love snow!

Ta ta for now,
Abby

Losing Old Friends and Gaining New Ones

Well, I have some good news and bad news, folks. The bad news is, my best doggie friend, Diggidy, passed away to the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday. I miss him with all my heart, but I know he's having fun with Sharna and Seva up at the bridge. I love you Diggidy, you little bundle of energy! Take good care of him please, Sharna and Seva. But be careful, he can be a bit of a handful. ;)

Now for the good news! I have 2 new friends! The first one is Biscuit, an adorable 3 month old Jack Russel Terrier/ Chihuahua mix! She lives right down the road from me, and Mom knows the owner very well, so she's going to walk me and Biscuit together! It's going to be great! My other new friend is a cute little Shih Tzu/ Poodle mix! She doesn't have a name yet since she was just adopted from the ASPCA by Mom's friends this morning. I'm going to meet her in a few days!

Make new friends, but keep the old close too,
Abby

Bicycle Ride!

Today Mom let me run next to her bike! She held my leash while she rode, and I ran around the block with her. Mom says that it's our new 'thing' together. I understood perfectly, right away, how to stay next to the bike and not pull. I just ran. It was great! Wonderful! The wind in my fur! I can't wait until tomorrow when we get to do it again! This kicks butt compared to just running with Mom!

I feel so FREE!

Microchips, Rubber Grooming Gloves, and School?

September 5th 2007 2:39 pm

Mom drove out to Petsmart with her mom yesterday. I figured they were going to get me rawhides and such, you know, the usual. Well, when Mom came home, she did have rawhides, but she had something else in her hand too... Something gray... She says it's my new 'Rubber Grooming Glove!' Since I've been shedding so much lately, Mom says it will really help me. I wasn't sure about Mom using the glove on me at first, but now I love it! It's like a massage and a brushing all in one! Mom couldn't believe how much fur came off on the glove whenn she first used it on me! My old brush was only pushing the shedding fur farther down in my coat! Boy, do I feel better now that Mom started using the glove! She can already see a difference in my coat! It's so shiny now! I feel a lot cooler now too, because I don't have all of that extra fur on me!

Yesterday, I overheard Mom and her mom talking in the kitchen. Something about getting me microchipped... And they said that at my next vet visit is in January for my check-up. What does the vet have to do with microchipping? I'm scared! I only overheard a bit, but hopefully Mom will tell me what's going on soon!

Mom started school today. I remember school from last year... It's horrible! Mom goes away for the half the day and leaves me at home with her brother and mom! I hate it! Why does school have to take Mom away? Dumb school... Mom doesn't seem to like school ethier. Whenever she gets back from it she groans and sits at the kitchen table to write on some papers. I wish I could just got to school with Mom! I'm sure she's thinking the same thing.

Cool, Scared, and Annoyed,
Abby

I'm So Loved!

Everybody who meets me seems to love me! All of Mom's friends say that I'm the perfect dog. Perfect size, perfect shedding amount (minimal because of the Boston coat I have), and the perfect temperment! It's so nice getting all of these compliments seeing as how at the pet store that I'm from the employees called me 'ugly!' How cruel!

Mom was walking me this morning and said hello to an eldery women. She said hello back and then commented on how lovely I was. Mom looked down at me proudly; I did look rather beautiful. The sun was shining on my face and really brought out my orange stripes. Mom said thank you and then continued to walk me. Then we met a women with a Miniature Dachshund and a Lhaso Apso mix. I smelled the pups and we got along rather nicely! Next, the women said what a beautiful pup I was and Mom told her how sweet her pups were. All these compliments are making me blush redder than a tomato! Goodness! Later this afternoon, Mom's mom's friend stopped by with her son and chocolate lab, Mazel. I had never met Mazel before, so Mom brought me outside to meet her. We got along great right away! I smelled her, she sniffed me. You know, the usual dog greetings. Then our mom's dropped our leashes and let us run around the yard. I did my 'wiggle butt dance' and barked to show Mazel that I wanted to play. We had so much fun romping around in the grass! Our mom's were laughing watching us play. Mazel is such a calm and sweet girl, Mom said that we'll have another play date real soon! Yea!

Also, change of plans. Mom's decided to make me a flyball set instead of an agility set. After watching some flyball on TV, she realized that flyball would suit me better because I like to run... Fast! Also, a flyball set takes a lot less time to make since it's just a few low hurtles made of wood, a piece of wood standing up with velcro glued to it, and a tennis ball. Very afforable and easy to make! Mom also said that a flyball set would fit better in our narrow, but long, alley way. Maybe if I get the hang of flyball, I can look for a team to join!

Wow, what a great day!
Abby

Boston Terrier Blues

Well, scratch the 'getting a kitten' plan. We might be getting another Boston Terrier mix! And I think getting another Boston mix is much better then some dumb 'ol cat. Who needs a kitten when I could have a SISTER! Well ya see, Mom's dad didn't really want another cat and we all decided it was a good idea because then my cat brother, Prance, might attack it. He's very aggressive. So Mom's mom has been talking about getting another dog ever since we got me. Every morning she says, "Not a day goes by when I don't think of what happened to Abby's sister. We just should have taken them both home from the store." She also constantly reminds us all how great the Boston breed is and tells us random facts she's dug up about them. It's fun learning about half of me! My mom was a brindle Boston Terrier. So Mom and her mom decided that next time they're in Robbinsville, they'll go to Gail's Pup's 'N' Stuff again. They said that they just want to ask the manager if my sister was ever bought and maybe find out where she is now. Mom's mom said that they wont be going in to get another dog, but Mom and I highly doubt that. How do you walk into a place full of puppies and not take one home? Also, a show came on Animal Planet this morning that was all about Boston Terriers. Mom, her mom, and I watched it together and Mom's mom is totally in love with the Boston Terrier breed. Mom takes this as a sign that we're going to get another Boston Terrier mix. I sure hope so!

I'll be dreaming of a new sister tonight,
Abby

Today when Mommy and some friends were walking me, we passed by a house that we normally pass. But this time, the dog, Blackie, that lives in the house was off-leash out front of the house by the sidewalk with his owner. Blackie came after me, open mouth, and tried to bite my neck and was scratching my face! I didn't know what to do and I was just wimpering trying to get away. Mommy, her friends, and I crossed the street, fast! Blackie tried to come after me again, but the owner picked him up and apologized. My mom was crying a bit because she was so scared for me. She didn't say anything back, but just ran to our Meema's house down the block. We checked me out at Meema's house and everything looked all right. Mom was still a bit shaky and so was I. Grandpa said that he'd talk to the owner and tell her to keep Blackie on a leash all of the time when he's outside. Since I looked alright and had stopped shaking, Mom said goodbye to her friends and took me home. Once we were home, Mom's brother noticed something. He said, "Jenna, why Abby have red eye crusties?" Sure enough, Mom looked down and I had blood coming from a scratch right beneath my right eye. Mom got a tissue to clean up the blood and cleaned out the scratch. Mom says it's scary how close the scratch is to my eye and how Blackie could have almost gotten my eye. I'm handling all of this very well and I'm back to my normal self now, playing and running about. I got some extra treats today, too! But Mom says one thing is for sure, we're not walking past that house ever again!

That sure was a close one,
Abby

New Neighbors and a New Family Member?

1. New Neighbors: The house next door went up for sale a few weeks ago and today a man and his Aussie were looking at it. My mom's dad was talking to man and he's seriously considering moving in! That means that I'd have a new doggie friend next door to play with! I haven't met the Aussie yet, nor do I know his/her name, but I hopefully I will met him/her too.

2. New Family Member: Mommy's sister, Danielle, has her birthday coming up next month. Danielle has always wanted a more playful cat to be apart of the family. Prance is absoluetly awful in my opinion, but I like all other cats! Mommy and Danielle absolutely love Prance, but you still can't get within three feet of him without him trying to kill you. So Mommy's mom was talking to Dani today about what she wanted for her birthday. Dani immediatly, as always, said, "A kitten!" But instead of saying no like she always does, Mommy's mom said, "Maybe...". And noramlly 'maybe' means yes! Mommy, Dani, and I are so excited! The rest of the choice rests on Mommy's dad's shoulders. Mommy's dad is a really big cat person, so we're all pretty sure that he'll say yes!

She can't possibly be my mom!

My mom has done some pretty stupid things in the past, but last night she put the icing on the cake. Last night it was raining, and I really had to go to the bathroom. My mom could tell that I had to go because I was doing the so called 'Abby's Pee Pee Dance'. How degrading... Anyway, I was not going outside in that rain, because that means that water would have to touch my body and we can't have that, now can we? But my mom was not about to have me go on the dining room floor. So she picked me up and carried me outside. She put me down outside and I quickly bolted for shelter under the awning. My mom waited about 15 mintues to see if I would just go under the awning, but I wouldn't budge. So she got some of my treats and threw them across the backyard, but I didn't even flinch. So next she tried throwing one of my toys out into the rain, but still I would not move. Sadly, my mom was not about to give up. This is the part that makes me believe that she cannot truly me my mother. She ran out from under the awning, with just socks on, and started running around the pool, flapping her arms and making birds noises. Then she started to yell, "Come on Abby! The rain feels great!" I couldn't believe it. I let out a bark that meant, "You need therapy!" Finally, while my mom was dancing and screaming around the pool, I came out from under the awning and went to the bathroom before Mom did something even more embarrassing!

Ah, the crazy memories that a 13 year old can leave in your head,
Abby

Well, those are my Love Tagged pups! Now I'm off to send them all messages so that they can write their own diary entries. Be sure to check out their pages! They're all awesome pups!

Good News and Bad News

August 15th 2007 6:43 pm

I'll start with the bad news first so that we can end this entry with the good news. Well, the bad news is that my guinea pig brother, Lucky, died 2 days ago. I'm still very sad about losing him. His death was a freak accident, really. Mommy had a fan running to keep him cool, and it fell over on top of him somehow. But Lucky is resting peacefully now at the guinea pig Rainbow Bridge with his mom and 6 siblings.

From My Mommy, Jenna:
I truly miss Lucky, and I always will. But instead of focusing on his death I like to focus and how he started life. I would like to tell you a quick story about how Lucky survived his first day of life. Well, Lucky's mom Calico was giving birth to Lucky and two of his siblings, Phantom and Snowfall. When Lucky was born, something was wrong... He wasn't breathing. My mom, being the extreme animal lover that she is, gave this tiny, helpless guinea pig CPR. It was incredible watching her save Lucky's life! Finally, Lucky took his first breath of air. We were all so happy that we named him Lucky because we knew that he was lucky to be alive! He had a wonderful 5 years of life, and will always be remembered. Rest in peace, sweetie.

And now for the good news. Thank goodness! I need to type something good after all that bad news! So, the good news is... CHARLEY WAS MY SECRET AMIRER AND NOW HE'S MY BOYFURIEND!!! Yup, that's right! Charley kept sending me anonymous rosettes with clues about who he was and eventually I figured out it was him sending me all of the rosettes that said such sweet things! I was so happy when I figured out that it was him! We are so happy and very much in love! ;D He's my cutie patooty, lovebug, sweetheart! I love you, Charley! Mwuah! Doggie kisses!

Sad things are always helped healed with good things,
Abby

Last night, just after I had finished my bath, Jenna was rubbing my tummy and scratching my ears. You know, the usual 'good night' routine. So before Jenna went up to bed, she gave a me a kiss on my neck, right where I have my big white spot. When she picked up her head, I started pawing at her lips. She went to the bathroom to see what had happened. Jenna had put on chapstick before, and since I had just taken a bath, all of my shedding fur was coming off. So Jenna had white fur all over her mouth! She came back and sat next to me laughing like a mad women. I started to bark and wag my stubby tail. Sure, we woke up the whole house, but it was all worth it. Santa (Jenna) gave me extra treats before bed! I love Christmas in August!

Maybe the Easter Bunny will come tomorrow night,

I love making Jenna proud!

So many things happened today! First, some of Jenna and her sister, Danielle's, friends stopped by. They were really interested in me and all I wanted to do was lick their faces! Since I was so hyper and jumping like a Mexican jumping bean, Jenna gave me a HUGE rawhide bone to keep me occupied until I could settle down. While I was chewing away in my little corner of the room, the friend named Hayley came up to me. She was petting me on my head and back, and it was all so nice! Then her brother, Conner, came over and started to pet me too! I felt like I was in a doggie spa! Then they asked Jenna if I knew any tricks. So I showed them my list of tricks and they all clapped for me! After all this, we all went for a walk together. I was so good and Jenna was so proud of me! I let all different kids walk me, and I didn't pull at all! I got lots of treats when we got home! Yummy Milk Bones!

Then we worked on my 'barking at people walking by' problem tonight at dinner. (The family ate outside tonight.) A few couples walked by and I just growled. But when Jenna said for me to stop, I did. Then the big challenge came... A group of boys on bikes were riding by and I didn't even flinch! Jenna says that I'm amazing! Amazing I tell ya! I love making Jenna proud of me!

Then, just before I wrote this diary entry, 'it' happened... The dreaded bath... Jenna carried me to the stairs and up to the 'unknown land' above that I'm not allowed to normally enter. I started to shake like crazy! But then Jenna started hushing words into my ears and I settled down. Once I was in the tub, I did better than I ever have before! I just barely shuddered, and I didn't even try to climb out! I made Jenna so proud of me in just one day! How great am I???

I've got to go rub all over the carpet like a mad-dog now,
Abby

I'm not so good at Thrusday morning chores!

Today was that time of the week again! Chore day! It's loads of fun for me, but Jenna and her sister, Danielle, don't seem to like it very much. They always groan when they have to do their chores. I wonder why? Anyway, while Jenna was dusting the TV, Danielle decideded to fold the blankets I was just about to lay down on! So as soon as she started to pick them up I'd lay down on top of them. Dani started to get really mad but Jenna was laughing so hard and I was having so much fun that I didn't stop! So kept getting up and then laying back down as soon as Dani walked over. It was so much fun watching Dani get angry and I always love to watch Jenna laugh! Finally Jenna and Danielle's mom came in to the room, but I didn't get in trouble! She started to laugh too! Even Dani had to admit that it was pretty funny and started to giggle. Well, I'm sure that I've done my good deed for the day! Laughter is the key to fun, I'm a strong believer in that!

Caught in the storm!

This morning Jenna and her dad took me for a walk through the park and up to the dog park. Jenna's dad loves to run, so today we jogged most of the way through the park. I was having so much fun! Running, panting, and then drinking some water. When we reached the dog park, it was starting to look pretty cloudy but we didn't think anything of it. I played around a bit, practiced bringing back tennis balls, and sniffed all of the new-comers. Then I saw a hugh flash of lighting! I was so startled that I jumped right into Jenna's arms! Jenna was laughing because I had jumped so high, but I didn't think that any of this was very funny! So we left the dog park to walk home, hoping that we'd beat out the storm that was now obviously coming. We had nearly 3 blocks left until we reached home when it started to downpour! I started to shake uncontrolably! Jenna felt so bad because she knows that I hate water, especially rain! As we were running home, we ran into Jenna's mom across the street from our house. She was in the car, she said that she'd been worried sick about us and was just coming to pick us up. Since we were so close to home and we didn't want to get Jenna's mom's car all wet if we didn't have to, we continued to run home. When we reached the 'big red house' as I like to call it, we went straight into the garage to dry off. I shook a bit, and then Jenna got a towel for me. Once inside the house, I immeditly curled up in my bed, bundled in a blanket. That's the last time that I go for a walk when there are grey clouds out!

I'm all warm now!

DarlaMae tagged me, so I tag you!

Here's who I tag:
Madison, Daisy, Cayci, Abby, Tiger, Samantha, and Sadie

Here are the rules of the game!

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

Here are my 7 pawsome facts:

1. When I play tug of war with Jenna, I try to do a ‘death roll’ like an alligator to get her to let go.

2. I can jump higher than Jenna’s 3 year-old brother, John!

3. When I get really excited and want Jenna to play with me, I moan and wail instead of barking.

4. Whenever Jenna stops walking while we’re on a walk, I automatically sit down!

5. I’m obsessed with Jenna’s other pets! I’m always sniffing her rabbit and guinea pigs and I like to stare at them… A lot!

6. My tail is so short that I have to wag my whole rear-end to show how excited I am!

7. I’m terrified of water! I hate pools, baths, fountains, anything wet!

Dog Park!

This evening Jenna and her mom took me to the dog park! Jenna sat in the back of the car with me on the way. I still don't like car rides too much and I throw up... But with Jenna in the back with me, I seemed fine! I just drooled a bit... I could tell that Jenna that was pretty grossed out because she kept saying, "Abby, you look like you have rabies!" and "Abby stop it, that's kinda gross!" But no hard feelings, Jenna just wiped up the drool with a towel.

So after that little episode, we finally got to the dog park! When we first got there, there was only one other dog. But we stayed a little while longer and all of my friends showed up! I showed my excitement by wagging my 'stubby tail' and smelling everyone. As soon as a new dog would go up to the fence, I'd smell them all over. Jenna kept saying that I looked like the doggy security and you had to be smelled by me to get in.

After about 20 mintues in the park, I met my new best friend, Emma! She's a Beagle that's my age and just as ready to run! As soon as she entered the park, it felt like it was just me and her. We had a cowboy-like stand off and just stared at each other for a moment, 5 feet away from each other. Emma came up to me then and tried to get me to play with her by wagging her tail and putting down her front legs. She reminded me of the worms that Jenna finds under rocks sometimes. I didn't know exactly what Emma was doing and I stuck my ears and the fur on my back straight up. Then Emma broke into a run and I followed, loving every second of it! We ran about 4 laps around the park, Jenna and Emma's mom clapping and cheering for us. When we finished racing, it was time for me and for Emma to go home. Jenna says that I really learned how to play today.

I'm pooped now!

Best Day Ever?!?

Today was fantastic! All morning Jenna worked on teaching me how to roll over; I got so many reward treats! I've almost got the trick down, but Jenna says it may take me a few more days of practice to really learn how to do it.

The only bad thing that happened today was that Jenna was gone all afternoon at her dad's co-worker's house for a picnic. But that didn't happen to be a total waste of time, Jenna said, because she found me a new friend! The co-worker, Sue, who ran the picnic had a 2 year old Airedale Terrier named Zoe! Jenna said that she played with her all afternoon, (lucky for her I'm not the jealous type!) and Jenna said that she seemed very nice and super friendly! Jen also said that Sue said that the next time we go over her house, that Jenna can bring me to play with Zoe!!! Yippee! New doggie friend!

When Jenna got home from Sue's, she took me for a lovely walk. I finally learned how to sit every time that we stop! Also, before we left for our walk we got a little suprise! Our neighbor's dog, Simba, got out and ran over to me in my yard! The neighbor came over to get Simba and brought his Golden Retriever, Buddy, with him! I got to sniff everyone and we played for a few mintues. But wait! It gets even better! Then our other neighbor was walking by with his Newfoundland, Molly, so he decided to stop by, too! It was a little puppy party! After we all had a chance to sniff each other and play for a bit while our mommies and daddies talked, Jenna and I finally set off on our walk, which was as I said before, excellant!

Lots of Licks,
Abby

Jenna's Back!

After a very long week of being away from Jenna, we've finally been reunited! I jumped so high when I saw Jenna that she thought I'd break my little doggy legs when I plopped on the carpet! And even though I missed Jenna tremendously, I had a great time with Meema and Grandpa. Meema gave me all kinds of goodies and let me fall asleep on any couch! I was even allowed to stay out of my kennel at night! Then in the morning, Grandpa took me for a nice, long walk through Thompson Park. I also got to roam around the yard to smell all of the flowers; I even ate a few, but Grandpa says I'll be okay. While I enjoyed my own vacation time at Meema and Grandpa's house, I also got to play with Boomer and Teddy, the neighbor's dogs. We mostly barked at each other, but then we settled down and played fetch with a tennis ball.

It's great to be back with Jenna, all she wants to do is rub my tummy and give me treats! I keep thanking her by giving little, wet doggy kisses. She says that she missed me so much and thought about me everyday that she was gone. Jen also said that she'd take me on a walk in a few mintues, but it can't be too long. She said something about going to some Harry Potter guy's book party tonight. Whatever that is, she said she wont be back until tomorrow morning, which is really sad because she just got back from her week long vacation. WEEK LONG! That's a super long time for me and I missed her so much and I'm going to miss her again tonight and what if she doesn't come home, but I know she will, I'm going to miss her! Phew, I sure do worry a lot! But I know that Jenna's also sad to have to leave again so soon. Tomorrow maybe we'll go to the dog park to spend some extra time together!

My tail's a waggin'!

Vacation?!

Oh, no! Jenna's going on vacation without me! She told me that I'm going to stay with Meema and Grandpa because she's staying for a whole week. A week away from home is just too long for me. Jenna says that she'll bring me back some pictures, though. I'm not too sad about not going along, staying with Meema and Grandpa is just like being at a resort. They spoil me rotten!

Jenna's mom said that we're going to a breast cancer dog walk in August. Her mom also made plans for Madison (the yellow lab in my Pup Pals), her owner Rachael, and Rachael's mom to come along, too! It's going to be so much fun! Just thinking about it making makes me wag my tail, even if it is a very tiny tail! Oh, and Jenna got me this really cute pink bandanna to wear to support the cause! She'll put up a picture of me wearing it when she gets back from vacation.

Jenna said she wants to take me down to the dog park tonight, but we might not get to go! Jenna's not allowed to go alone (even though she has me) , and her mom and dad are really busy packing! Pack faster guys, I want to see my friends!

Today Jenna had to clean the rabbit and guinea pigs' cages. She made them a pen in the grass out of chicken wire so that they wouldn't run away while she cleaned. When she was done, she brought me outside on my leash to see the other pets. I was so excited! I even pointed at Duchess, the rabbit, which Jenna didn't even know I could do! All of the animals smelled great, too! I just wanted to smell everywhere! While I was playing around with Duchcess, Fuzz, and Lucky, Jenna got this great idea to video tape me with them! She said that she wanted a video of me to put on Dogster and this was just what she had been looking for. So when Jenna's dad finally buys a working video camera, that's the first thing she'll do.

Until next time,
Abby

My First Diary Entry!

Wow! Jenna made me my very own webpage on Dogster! I feel so special! I can't wait to start giving and receiving stars, rosettes, and treats! Not to mention all of the new doggy friends I'll be making! This is so exciting!

Ugh! Some of my photos look horrible! I wish that my eyes would stop getting a glare from the camera flash... Too bad Jenna didn't think to just turn the flash off!

Oh, and one last thing! Today Jenna had to go to her grandparent's house so I got to stay with her other grandparents, Meema and Grandpa! As soon as Jenna walked me in the door, I was offered a dog treat! How great is that?! It was like I was in a hotel all day long! Another perk that comes from staying at Meema and Grandpa's house is that I get to play with their neighbors dogs, Boomer and Teddy! They're so much fun and so funny! I just wish that Teddy would stop getting to the tennis ball first when we play fetch!

Good night everyone,
Abby
