Oh geez! Here we go again

Well, Mom had to take me to the vet yesterday. Don't know why she sometimes feels that the vet is the place to be. So many better places I can think to be. The best thing about the vet is that I get treats when I'm there. The bad part is, that Mom & Dad starve me for about 2 weeks afterward.

So, of course the first thing Mom wants me to do is sit on the scale. This I do because I'm a good girl & Mom has treats in her pocket. Mom's eyes grew wide & she said " Oh no! 2 more pounds?!" And those treats stayed in her pocket.

And so, the starving begins.

Mom & the vet talked for an awful long time and I heard the words "treats," "milketies," "cruncheties," "snaps" & "ronies". But Mom's pocket produced none of those! It was the worst vet visit ever! Even the vet gave me nothing!

When Mom told Dad, his response was " Oh well. She is just a big Rottie girl." Dad is pretty cool. Mom gave a heavy sigh and started talking about my hips, knees & love handles. & before you knew it, she had pulled Dad over to the dark treat-less side too!
Last night was a long evening - no cruncheties, milketies, snaps or ronies. At least they haven't taken away my bully sticks - yet.

I have a feeling this lean time will last more than 2 weeks. Dad might cave, but Mom looked pretty determined.

Mom says we have to go to the vet every other month & I have to sit on the scale. *sigh*. This I will do because ....well.. I like rides in the car, I am a good girl, & perhaps mom's pocket will produce a treat. A dog can always hope.

Bol!!

Mom was reading through my diary entries and realized she has the year of my birth wrong!!!! BOL! I was born in 2007 not 2006. I will be 2 years old on my next birthday. Silly Momma!

1. I can eat food off of a fork like a perfect little lady.
2. I will swallow my doggy food in one gulp, but will take my time chewing a peanut.
3. I won the wet t-shirt contest at Woofstock this past summer.
4. I love to work. & will sometimes bug mom by being whiny and needy until she & I work on some obedience or tricks.
5. The way to my heart is through cheese.
6. I try so hard to talk to my humans sometimes. I make the pitch of my voice match theirs. One of these days....
7. I go to work with my Dad at least once a week & am a perfect little store dog.
