Arrival Story:
As any reader of our dog pages knows, we lost one of our babies this spring...well, we were bound and determined to stick with just two pups for a while. But, we always looked on the petfinder pages at the rescues hoping to see the likeness of our lost little girl...I know... Anyway, one day I came across this absolutely adorable little girl on a golden retriever rescue page and read her story...her mother had been barking at passers by in a park when one nice woman followed her into the woods only to discover that this golden retriever had very recently given birth to a litter of puppies right there...well, obviously she rescued all of them... I sent email to the rescue site and put in an application...after a few days of corresponding it was decided that we would be adopting this little girl and then we had to figure out how to get her. It turns out she was rescued in Little Rock, Arkansas...we live in NY. Well, we happened to be going on vacation to see my parents in Indiana and we were able to have Riley flown directly into Chicago and we picked her up from there...she was so exhausted when we got there, but it was love at first sight!!! Thank you Shawn and Family...Riley is great!!! Thank you American Airlines...Riley arrived safe and sound and no worse for ware!!! Thank you Dogster.com as our webpages for our other babies clinched the win for us over the other applicants and set the bar for the other prospective rescuers pretty high!!! ;) Thank you to every person with a heart big enough to rescue a pet!!!

Bio:
Riley was found with her three siblings in a park...they were about a week old when they were found.

One of my best pals Brutie sent this to me.
Copy these questions into your diary and then tag 6 of your other friends.

1. What color is your collar? -Hmmm well I wear a pink bandanna, petal pink to be exact. I have ummm about a 100 of them. Something about me being a dirty beast and needing them changed almost daily. BOL
My collar is pink and silver.

2. What kind of food do you eat? - I of course eat the coveted big dog food...Logan is convinced it has some sort of super powers and he should have it as well. I think not!! I leave exactly one piece for him in my bowl after each meal.

3. What are your favorite treats? -Marrow bones paws down.

4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other? - No...do you think it has something to do with being a dirty beast?! I thought my mom just said that to be rude.

5. Do you get Table Scraps? – Scraps?! Like a smidgen? BOL...please my mom shares everything with me.

6. What is your favorite toy? – gots to be tennis balls and wubbas!! I am with you Brutie...

7. When is your Birthday? - April 1st...please mark your calendars.

8. How many times a day do you get to eat? - Twice a day

9. Do you have a favorite color? – Pink of course

10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary? - Yuppers!

SO My mother likes to see just what it would take to tire me out...I of course laugh at her efforts. That being said I of course amuse her...because lets face it,it does benefit me.
As some of you may know I run with mom in the morning as long as she is not going on a long run. Please child's play!! I go simply because it is dark in the early a.m. I need to know mom is protected. I trot through the door and immediately start a wrestling match with Logan. Not tired!! Then I will patrol the windows on the look out for fatty! If by chance that little b@#@rd is in my yard. I will whine get myself let outside...and of course race around the yard. Not tired!!
Mom will walk us all over to the field use the chuck it...On our walk over, mom will say something like ok Riley mom is tossing the ball till you no longer bring it back. I laugh to myself thinking like that will happen. Logan and Lucas will be snoozing in the field....ME?! I am bringing that ball back till mom can not lift her arm. Not tired!!
Yesterday mom and dad said ok lets walk her down the river to the swimming spot. Lets see by my estimation that is about a three mile walk round trip...again I laugh. So we get to my dock on the river...the one I like to launch myself off. Dad tosses my water kong endlessly. I am having a blast!! I love the water...the sun is shining...I am the only dog at the dock,no waiting my turn to launch off, spectacular!!
I am listening to mom carry on like I am an Olympian!! I thank her by coming out of the water each time by her and shaking...thus keeping her cool as well.
Finally dad says ok,we still have to walk back....that is enough baby girl. The whole way home I hear them carrying on about how tired I will be...again I laugh.
I get home wake up the two laze bombs I live with...proceed to run around the yard with them. Dad has the hose out front doing some yard work. He knows the rules...do not get the hose out and think I am not playing in it!! He comes to get me...I race around the yard with him and the hose. Not Tired!!
People I am a machine...I do not get tired...enough with the silly games already.
I feel I should clarify...I can lay around snoring with the best of them. However if you are ready...I am always ready!! I need no time to adjust open my eyes,stretch...none of that. I am up and out!

Training Camp....

So out of the goodness of my heart I have chosen to help whip dad into shape. We are running together in the evenings...no easy task!! First dad is slow...second he does not get all my commands correct and therefore confuses me! Third I am use to a certain stride...moms gate matches me perfectly and she knows what she is doing.
Obviously I have had to take the leadership role to get dad inline!! Ugh beginners!!
Riley's training camp has begun and I will be taking no prisoners! Dad told mom I give him the look...as if to tell him do not embarrass me! He is correct that is exactly what I am telling him! I have friends...they are outside maybe even walking with pawrents...the horror!
I run every morning with my mother and we are have a perfect routine down...I do not have to instruct her!!! Dad however decided he is not so slim and perhaps should shed some winter weight...of course who has to help?! Me!!
I agreed to this change in my routine only because moms runs are getting longer and longer because her event is coming up next month. Mom only allows me a certain mile mark so as not to stress my joints.
So I have graciously agreed to train dad...little did I know he have to study basic dogie running lingo!! Or that I would have to adjust to a new speed...or that I would have to take walking breaks!! Or that I would have to listen to my own father tell me I was a show off!!
I told dad if you work hard and pay attention and put in some honest effort...maybe one day you to can be as great as me...however I make no promises.
