Birthday: April 1st 2007 Likes: Her mom most of all. Riley loves everyone...However Logan and her are the best of friends.. Pet-Peeves: bath time...when mom goes to work.. Favorite Toy: Logan!! Favorite Food: I am a big fan of marshmallows...fantastic!!! Peanut butter...love it!! Favorite Walk: I love the trail the best no leash and we run like wild...poor Logan works very hard to keep up. Mom takes us walking in the mornings that is ok,sometimes we run a bit...mom wants me to be able to run with her,we will see... Best Tricks: I know all my commands thank you very much...Also I am very good at selective hearing..its a gift really. Arrival Story: As any reader of our dog pages knows, we lost one of our babies this spring...well, we were bound and determined to stick with just two pups for a while. But, we always looked on the petfinder pages at the rescues hoping to see the likeness of our lost little girl...I know...
Anyway, one day I came across this absolutely adorable little girl on a golden retriever rescue page and read her story...her mother had been barking at passers by in a park when one nice woman followed her into the woods only to discover that this golden retriever had very recently given birth to a litter of puppies right there...well, obviously she rescued all of them...
I sent email to the rescue site and put in an application...after a few days of corresponding it was decided that we would be adopting this little girl and then we had to figure out how to get her. It turns out she was rescued in Little Rock, Arkansas...we live in NY.
Well, we happened to be going on vacation to see my parents in Indiana and we were able to have Riley flown directly into Chicago and we picked her up from there...she was so exhausted when we got there, but it was love at first sight!!!
Thank you Shawn and Family...Riley is great!!! Thank you American Airlines...Riley arrived safe and sound and no worse for ware!!! Thank you Dogster.com as our webpages for our other babies clinched the win for us over the other applicants and set the bar for the other prospective rescuers pretty high!!! ;) Thank you to every person with a heart big enough to rescue a pet!!! Sadie has a boyfriend...his name is Howard and he is a rather portly four year old Yorkie. My mother's friend Suzy owns Howard, as it turns out we pass there home daily on our walks.
Lately it has just been me and little Sadie out on our evening walks. Not that we are trying to leave the boys out, it just Logan has been pretty sick since Memorial Day and has not been able to join us. Jacob is frankly just to lazy and runs and hides in the bathroom the moment he sees a leash. Weird!!!
Anyway Suzy flagged us down the other day and told us little Howard really needs some exercise could we stop and play. Of course we can stop and play!! Honestly what kind of question is that?! Although if I would have known I wold be so rudely ignored I would of kept on walking.
Sadie and Howard fell in love at first sight...it was rather nauseating to say the least. So there I stood watching the two tiny love birds roll around in the grass. Mom and Suzy chatting away leaving poor me to trail after the two tiny tots. UGH!!!
I followed them all around...got down in puppy pose...rolled over showed off my spectacular belly. Nothing!! Could not be bothered with me! I had no choice but to stay with them and keep them out of mischief.
Found myself a nice shady spot and took on my chaperoning like a good big sister. Before departing I had a talk with young Howard, asking just what his intentions were towards my little sister. There will be no tomfoolery on my watch young man!
So every night now we make our stop so Sadie and Howard can have a play date...Mom and Suzy can have a gossip session and I can suffer chaperoning.
Today was mom and dads anniversary so they took a little trip to a town called South Haven. Leaving me in charge of those two hooligans while they were away. Mom said I will only be gone about six hours baby girl, you are in charge.
Well of course I was left in charge...I am the only one who knows how to behave properly. Those boys were planning their shenanigans the moment they found out they would be pawrental free for six hours.
HMPF I had my note pad ready and do not think for one second I did not document every transgression those two made! Logan had the audacity to suggest the throw pillow they used as a tug toy. Was not to be blamed on them...it was an easy mistake any dog could of made...being stuffed and all :( I think not Logan!!
Jacob tried to pretend counter surfing was some form of Yoga I have yet to hear about. Honest to dog these two think I just fell off the turnip truck.
I will also be mentioning in my report the garbage can dumpster diving that went on. You would think I live with two babies who did not know any better.
Sadly this only makes me realize just what it was like for my dearly departed Lucas when he was left in charge.
Lucas you have my sincere apologies for all the tomfoolery I engage in just to annoy you.
Now that the tables are turned and I must be the voice of reason...I have a whole new respect for you.
I have to turn in early this evening as I am just plum worn out from these boys.
Dumb and dumber is how I affectionately refer to my two brothers...honest to dog those two are imbeciles.
Frankly I now know how Lucas felt...they make it so easy to be the top dog! I have had a stellar week as a result of the misfits nonstop debacles.
Jacob being as dumb as a box of rocks decided he would try to pull a wire out of the wall. I told him, you better not do that Jacob...your going to go and get yourself electrocuted. Of course he did not listen, what do I know I am just a girl. Thank dog he did not hurt himself. Watching him sit in time out was just joyous for me...I must of walked by with every toy I own just to torture him.
Logan the other genius went on an all out hunting escapade. His reward was a bath and tooth scrubbing for his efforts. I love to help give him his baths...I love the water, he however carries on like a big baby. I make certain I am an eye witness to his theatrics so I can use it as black mail at a later date.
I of course have nothing to report because I am a very good girl! I do not like to brag but honestly any dog would look good next to these two.
