MEKA'S MEMOIRES

A lot has been going on with me, so I thought I'd update everyone... Im 8 mo's this month and have matured quite a bit. I've been on a few long distance (1 hr) car rides with mommy & daddy, and I cant yet say I like it. Even though mommy lets me sit with her, I get so nervous and cant sit still for the world. Its usually like this when we are driving to our destination... but, on the way back - its all good. Whats up with that?!? None the less, Im trying to work on that (whats a pup to do).

I've been socializing with other animals as well. Not all have been good encounters, especially with a cat named Midnight. Let me tell you! I just wanted to say hi, when outta nowhere; he began to hiss and swipe at me. I was frozen with fear, and if it wasnt for my daddy picking me up; I would have been "cattacked"... Im a lover, not fighter - so this was truley not my thing. I've also met some good pets and have made a few friends as well.

Mommy & daddy have seen that I am growing and they've allowed me a bit more freedom for that. They have given me more space in my room and I've been doing great! I potty on the pee pad with no accidents!! I've also learned a few more commands and all in all have just been quite the dog lately. Yay for Me...Meka that is!

3. Im going to be a witch for Halloween... Mom thinks it will be cute since the "human sister" is gonna be Dorothy (Wiz of Oz) - but Im soooo not feeling the hat!

4. My mommy is the love of my life!!! She spoils me rotten - and even gives me kisses (which she thought she'd never do - shhh, dont tell dad)

5. I love, love, love to go for walks... Mommy thinks I walk like I own the world (she doesnt know yet... lol)

6. I mastered using the pee pads a long time ago... but, I still have "accidents" when I want attention! shhhh....

7. Im a very social pup and love to meet/play with other dogs (Imma flirt =)

Meka's Big Move!

Meka's been a part of our family for about 2 1/2 mo's now. She's been a great addition but also part of the reason we had to move out of our apartment. The managers had some issues with "pets", so moving was the only solution. We went from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom townhouse w/ stairs and plenty of room outside for both my daughter and Meka.

Meka began acting a little different during the moving process. I could tell she began to wonder where all the furniture had gone... and of corse when it was empty, she couldnt help but run around smelling for familiar sents that weren't there. Now that we're all settled into the new place, she has been confined to a corner w/ her essentials. I've attempted to let her explore her new surroundings, however she quickly looses that opportunity when she uses the bathroom on my new carpet. Im getting a little frustrated and concerned that she just wont understand the whole pad training thing. But, they say "patience is a virtue" - right !?!
