I'm so excited!

I get to puppysit an 8-week old Golden for my friend for two weeks!!! He was born in late October. I'm going with her to pick him out...She's getting him as a Christmas present for her family, so it's a secret. He's related to my Max!!
Anyway, I'm getting him two weeks before Christmas and keeping him til Christmas Eve!!

Savannah...We miss you already...

Oh, no. I am so sad. My cousin Savannah passed away last night.
We didn't even know she was sick. Sarah called and was crying.
She told us the sad news. It was cancer. Joey just told us two nights ago
how she and Katie (her sister) are really good doggies. We already miss

Shame on you, Michael Vick!

I'm sick about the whole situation concerning NFL Atlanta Falcon's Quarterback Michael Vick. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of sponsoring a dogfighting operation. The torture and execution of the dogs on his property is just unforgiveable. Such atrocities should be punished-severly. The cruel acts that ocurred there and that are being reported in the media are pure evil. I have great respect for Nike and Reebok. Nike suspended its lucrative contract with Vick and Reebok stopped sales of his No. 7 jersey. In addition, two trading car companies withdrew Vick items.
I find it strange that the NAACP's R.L. White (president of the Atlanta chapter), has chosen to speak out and defend Vick. And suggest the public go easy on him. I am sure that there are more worthy people who could use help from that organization. That leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. It makes me wonder if perhaps there is some money changing hands there?? Cuz I have to say, there is soooo much physical evidence to prove that dogfighting and many other cruel acts did occur there. Vick owns that property-there is no question about that. So why would such a recognizeable organization such as the NAACP choose to publicly speak out and defend him?
There are at least three others, that I know of, who are also being charged in this case. A co-defendant by the name of Tony Taylor has already pleaded guilty to federal dogfighting conspiracy charges. The other two-Purnell Peace of Virginia Beach and Quanis Phillips-who, believe it or not, remain free without bond.
It's interesting that, with all of his money, Michael Vick chose to fight and kill dogs. He could have done countless other good things. Perhaps open a no-kill shelter for all of the homeless and down-on-their-luck animals. He's in a position to do just that. Instead, he chose to be a thug.
He could have been a hero...now he just makes me ill.

New Haircut...

Hiya everyone! Well, I told you Mamma Laura cut my hair. It was a little uneven, but she tried! Well mom's new friend Lindsay ( A REAL dog groomer!) came over Sunday Afternoon and she SHAVED me down!! I look a bit pathetic, but I like it! I posted a pic so you can see, too! I get dry real quick now when I get outta the pool! I like that, too! So, big kisses to Lindsay! Thanks! Woof!!

Baaad Haircut!!

I got a haircut three days ago. Oh, my. I know it looks really bad. But Mom Laura tried her best. I get shaved down at the end of May and in August-for pool season. Last year, the lady came in the big white van and burned me with the clippers! All over!! It was really sore. So, for Christmas, Santa brought good pair of clippers for me. Mama Marisa was gonna do it, but Mama Laura wouldn't let her-she wanted to give me a mohawk-cuz that's what my friend Adam said I should have! Plus, Mama Marisa is not as patient as Mama Laura. And neither one knows how to use the clippers!! But, on the upside-I love getting shaved. I just lay there and the vibrating feels all massagie and relaxing. I went to the vet yesterday, and he said it doesn't look that bad. He is wrong. But I don't care. I love my Mama Laura. I know the hair will grow back!! Besides, I need short hair so I can dry quick and come in the house sooner after swimming!

Today I got to go for TWO car rides! And Mom Laura took me for a walk. She made a beef potpie for dinner and I got some of the beef!! It made me drool...
